thanks so much for requesting!! <3

Feeling numb, you thought, was better than feeling the agonizing pain you had felt in the days after Cassandra's death. Losing a best friend was one of the worst pains imaginable, especially in the craziness that was currently happening.

You were pulled from your thoughts by honking on the road behind you. You turned and squinted to see an expensive black car parked along the curb, a floppy-haired boy making his way toward you.

The mere sight of Harry Bingham made your blood boil and you dug your fingernails into your palm as he sat down beside you. "Hey (Y/N), did you know Allie has a search party looking for you?"

"God knows why. I'm right here," you mumbled back and he laughed at you although you hadn't meant for it to be funny. You glared at him, not feeling in the mood to be nice. "So you're part of it?"

"Actually I was taking a drive to clear my head. No offense, but I wasn't really looking." He winked and gave you a smile that was probably supposed to be charming but made you want to slap him. "Aren't you cold? If you hadn't noticed, it's kind of winter," he said, pointing at the flakes falling from the sky.

You turned away and shrugged because you honestly didn't notice the snow that had begun to blanket the grassy patch you had spent the last few hours in. You saw Harry shrugging off his jacket from the corner of your eye and scoffed at the action.

"Don't bother," you mumbled, getting up and beginning to walk in the opposite direction of the town. Confused, he started to follow you but you spun on your heel and glared at him. "Just put your jacket back on and get in your fancy little car and leave me alone, okay? Did anyone maybe think I just wanted to be by myself for a little while?" You didn't want his help, especially since you blamed him for what had happened.

Despite your harsh tone, he smiled and put the jacket around your shoulders anyway. You wanted to throw it at him but the warmth was nice and you actually were freezing, so you crossed your arms and tried to look annoyed.

"Where are we going?" He had shoved his hands in his pockets and you rolled your eyes.

"Did you listen to anything I just said? I want to be left alone, and that includes you. You may think that everyone loves you because you're Harry Bingham but you're on my list of least favorite people right now," you said through gritted teeth.

He looked shocked and you took the oppurtunity to keep walking, not feeling bad at all about what you said. He jogged to catch up again, putting himself in front of you and grabbing your shoulders to stop you from walking. You shook out of his grasp but stayed still and tried to ignore his hurt expression.

"Let me take you home, okay? Allie is really worried about you," he said, but the thought of having to deal with the pity stares of The Guard and Allie made your stomach hurt. He noticed the disgusted look and nodded to his car. "Or we can go for a drive? That always makes me feel better."

As much as you wanted to refuse, the heat of the car seemed welcoming and you nodded your head, following him back out to the road. He opened the door for you and the "noble" action made you roll your eyes as you mumbled a thanks.

"You do that a lot," he said as he closed your door and got into the driver's side.

"Do what?"

"Roll your eyes. Doesn't it give you a headache to be so annoyed all the time?" He was adjusting the vents and warming his hands, smirking as he did so.

"You smirk a lot," you retorted. "Doesn't it give you a headache to be so annoying all the time?" He just laughed as he pulled the car onto the road and began slowly weaving his way through the quiet streets of West Ham.

You hadn't realized you were tired until Harry was picking you up out of the car and carrying you into his house. You mumbled for him to put you down as you got yourself awake enough to stand up.

"Why don't you go take a shower and get out of your wet clothes?" He pointed towards the bathroom, and you suddenly noticed how your clothes were sticking tightly to your body and making you cold. You wrapped your arms around yourself and he chuckled, gently pushing you down the hall. "I can throw your clothes in the dryer and give you something to wear."

He grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt for you and waited while you took a long, hot shower. The clothes were loose but at least they were comfortable and you tried not to enjoy it too much as you joined Harry on the couch.

"Feel better?" You nodded and he held the bag of chips he had been eating out to you but you shook your held and curled yourself into a ball at the end of the couch. "Do you want something else? I can make you whatever you want."

"I'm fine. Really," you said, leaning your head against the couch and watching him. "Why aren't you being an arrogant jerk like normal?"

He widened his eyes and laughed, popping another chip in his mouth. "Why don't you tell me what you really think of me," he said, his easy smile causing irritation to creep back in.

"You wouldn't even want to know," you huffed, but he raised his eyebrows for you to continue. You took a deep breath to try to control yourself, but the more you talked the less you cared. "I think you're a spoiled guy who has never had to deal with anything remotely bad in his life because his mommy and daddy have shielded him from everything. And I think you don't care about anyone else's feelings because if you did then Cassandra wouldn't be dead and I wouldn't want to cry all the time!"

He was stunned as you finished and he moved towards you. You tried to push him away as he wrapped his arms around you, but it felt so solid and comforting, and for the first time since she died, you let yourself break down. "I'm sorry," he whispered, rubbing your arm.

You stayed like that for a long time until your eyes ached and you had no tears left. "I shouldn't have done that," you whispered as you pulled away from him.

"Done what? Shown feeling?" You laugh just a little and he gave you a small smile. "You're allowed to be sad. I know you probably feel like you need to be strong for Allie, but you need to mourn too." You nodded and kept your gaze on the floor as he continued. "I am really sorry about Cassandra."

"You hated her," you whispered as he gave your hand a squeeze.

"I never wanted her dead, especially how it happened." His tone was soft and you glanced up to see his arrogant smirk was gone and he looked a lot less confident than normal. "You're right, I am arrogant and selfish and all of those things, and I'm sorry. Truly sorry."

You nodded and took a deep breath. "I should probably go. Allie is going to be having a conniption."

"I texted her while you were in the shower so she knew you were safe. Why don't you just stay here tonight?" You hesitated at his offer but he smiled and patted the couch. "I'll sleep here and you can sleep in my room. Not to brag or anything but I have a pretty comfortable bed."

You finally gave in and he seemed excited to have company. After his break-up with Kelly, you realized that he probably didn't really have anyone left. "Thanks," you said, watching him get up to go upstairs.

"No problem, the couch is pretty comfortable anyway."

"No, thanks for everything. I still think you're horrible, but not really that horrible after all." He smirked at your somewhat compliment and you smiled back, any irritation you had for him melting away. He was still arrogant, but it seemed like sometimes he could be a nice guy too.
