"Hello?" Allie's voice pulled you from your thoughts and you glanced over to where she was perched on the countertop. "Stop looking at him."

"At who?" You played dumb and she rolled her eyes, hopping down and grabbing your hand.

"You need to get out of this house," she said, tugging you towards the front door. You took one last look at where Will was curled up on the couch with Kelly, watching a movie. They were laughing and it took everything in you not to burst into tears.

"Where are we even going?"

"Football field. You need a drink and God knows The Guard has enough beer," she said with a smirk. You wrinkled your nose but let her lead you to the school where Clark, Luke, Jason, and Grizz were laying in a circle on the field.

"Hey Allie," Grizz called, sitting up and jogging over to you. "Hey (Y/N). What are you guys doing here?"

"We came for beer and a distraction for this one," Allie said, jabbing her thumb towards you.

"Is everything okay?" Concern crossed his features and you tried to force out a smile.

"Guy problems," Allie explained for you. Grizz gave you a little smile before placing a bottle into your hand, taking your other one and leading you to the group.

"What guy are we talking about? We'll mess him up," he said, smirking.

You laughed, not having to force it out at all now that you had alcohol in your system. "No one."

"Yeah right," Jason said, nudging your foot with his. "C'mon, tell us."

"It's Will," Allie blurted out and you slapped her arm. She playfully slapped you back and continued spilling your secrets. "He's all cozy with Kelly now and (Y/N) is practically going insane."

"Hold on, I thought you guys were together?" Luke furrowed his brows and you avoided eye contact, picking at the grass instead.

"I don't know what we are," you whispered and they must have sensed that you were done talking because they quickly switched the topic.

A few hours later you were happily drunk and had completely lost track of time. You just knew it was getting dark and you had to clean the cafeteria in the morning, so you said goodbye to everyone and started your walk home.

You hadn't been paying attention in front of you so you were surprised when you ran into someone, falling backwards onto the pavement.

"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" The boy gently pulled you up and you smiled before you realized who it was.

"Will?"

He looked surprised for a second before forcing out a smile. "Hi (Y/N)."

You tried to push past him but he caught your arm and pulled you back in front of him. "I think you're bleeding."

"I'm fine," you said, trying to pull away again but he held you where you were.

"Are you drunk?"

You rolled your eyes and laughed. "What do you care if I am?"

"You hate drinking," he said and you rolled your eyes again. "Stop doing that. Come on, let's get you home."

He tried to lead you back the way he came but you ripped your arm from his grasp. "I'm not going anywhere with you."

"What? Why?"

You scoffed and crossed your arms over your chest. "You're kidding me. You think you can treat me like dirt and then pretend to care about me? Sorry, doesn't work that way."

"We're not starting this. Let's go," he said, his tone clipped.

"No," you said simply, sitting down on the curb and staring straight ahead.

"Why are you being like this?"

You looked up at him and felt a tear drip down your cheek but you hoped in the dark he couldn't see it. "Being like what? Annoyed because I had to watch you and Kelly cuddle today? Reluctant to let you take me home because I know you are only pretending to care? Gee, I wonder why I'm acting this way."

"Don't even bring her up. You're the one who ended it between us," Will said, turning away from you.

You frowned and stood up, swaying a little. You were glad he didn't see that happen either. "I didn't end anything," you whispered and he spun around to face you.

"Yes you did. You drifted away from me and didn't let me in. You completely pushed me away until I didn't even recognize you anymore."

A few more tears dripped down your cheeks and you refused to wipe them away. "Things are a little messed up so sorry if I just needed some space. That didn't mean I didn't still love you," you whispered and his face softened.

"What?"

"I never meant to do that. It was like one day we were fine and the next we were strangers and you had moved on to Kelly."

Will's mouth was slightly open as he searched for words. He slowly reached out and when you didn't flinch away he pulled you into his chest. "I'm sorry. I didn't move on at all. I just needed a distraction which was so wrong of me."

You shook your head, everything becoming clear now. You had pushed him away, you had been the reason you weren't together anymore and you hated yourself for it. Will pulled you away and wiped your tears with the pad of his thumb.

"I'm sorry," he said again and you leaned up, kissing him. He wrinkled his nose and smiled. "You taste like beer."

You giggled and he wrapped an arm around your shoulders. "Are we okay?"

"We're great," he said and you walked towards Allie's house. "Let's go home."
