"Alone again?" Luke gave Harry a friendly smile as he plopped down with his tray across the table. Harry glared at him and chose not to answer, looking back down at his still full plate and continuing to sulk. Luke took the silence as an invitation for him to keep talking. "Do you want to come and sit with the guys? We're not really friends but-"
"Yeah we aren't friends," Harry interrupted. "So why are you sitting here? I obviously want to be left alone so why are you still here?"
His outburst made Luke frown and he shook his head. "Do you want to be alone or do you have no other choice?"
Harry's tough act was getting harder to keep up and the fact that Luke saw through that made Harry feel even weaker than he already was. "Just leave me alone," he sighed, dropping his tone and focusing again on pushing his salad around on his plate.
"Just come sit with us, dude. We don't bite," Luke laughed, standing up and walking back towards his usual table with Grizz, Jason, and Clark. He didn't glance back to make sure Harry was following but he felt confident that he would.
"Why did you invite Bingham over here?" Jason was glaring daggers at Harry who was walking with his head down, and action so unlike him.
"He needs friends right now," Luke replied with a shrug. "I think his breakup with Kelly is really getting to him."
"Yeah, it should! He was so plainly about to cheat on her!" Clark's tone was reaching a dangerous level and Grizz quickly punched his shoulder. Clark winced and rubbed the spot with a pout. "What was that for?"
"Be a decent human being for one second of your life," Grizz said with an exasperated sigh. He turned his attention on Harry and smiled. "Hey Harry."
Harry mumbled a hello back but continued to stare straight down. "What's up with you Bingham? No snide comments today?" Jason nudged Harry with his shoulder, fully expecting him to say something rude but he just shrugged.
"This is about Kelly, right?" Luke seemed to hit a nerve with his comment because Harry's head flew up, his jaw clenched.
"No," he said defensivley but Grizz rolled his eyes.
"Why are straight guys so complicated?" Luke laughed and Grizz continued. "You did something wrong and now you want her back but she's mad at you and won't talk to you. So you need to just get her to talk to you for, say, five minutes and apologize for almost cheating on her and, boom, she's in love with you again," he finished with a smile.
Harry blinked in surprise at Grizz and shook his head. "But I wasn't going to cheat on her! I was just dancing with a girl!"
"Who wasn't your girlfriend," Clark coughed, earning another smack from Grizz.
"Just admit you were wrong. I should know, Helena gets mad at me quite a bit, usually because I am in fact wrong," Luke said.
Harry looked around at the expectant looks on all of the guys' faces and finally gave in with a nod. "Okay, it was a jerk move I suppose. But what if she doesn't forgive me?"
"I have a feeling she misses you too," Luke offered with a wink. He had heard too many phone calls between a crying Kelly and Helena to be oblivious to her feelings.
After talking to the guys for a little bit longer, Harry headed to Kelly's house, a lump in his throat at the thought of seeing her again. He knocked lightly and kicked at the porch to keep himself busy, freezing as she pulled the door open.
She looked shocked to see him, her face turning to annoyance as soon as the shock wore off. "Go away," she mumbled, starting to close the door but something stopped it from latching. She looked down and rolled her eyes. "Harry, get your foot out of the door."
"Please just hear me out," he said.
"I'll break your foot," Kelly threatened, keeping her voice monotone so it was impossible for Harry to tell what was really going on in her head.
"No you won't," he chuckled and Kelly glared at him. "Five minutes, please."
She sighed and opened the door the rest of the way, turning around and stomping into the kitchen. Harry followed her and watched as she started pulling her hair into a braid, a smile tugging at his lips. "Time's ticking," she said and he nodded quickly.
"I'm sorry."
"Is that it?"
Harry shook his head and reached to grab her hands, but she pulled away. "Kelly, I'm sorry that I was touching that girl and I'm sorry about all of the things I said and I'm sorry I said you don't own me because I have never been more wrong about anything." Kelly raised her eyebrows and allowed Harry to grab her hands. "If I've learned anything over the past week, it is that you own me, one hundred percent."
She was stunned into silence for a minute before finding her voice. "Wow," she whispered.
"Is that it?" Harry teased her with her own question and she pulled her hands from his, wrapping them around his back.
"You were such as jerk," she said, and his heart broke at the sound of her crying. He nodded wordlessly and let her cry until she decided to pull away and peck his cheek. "I missed you."
He nodded and smiled, tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry. I missed you so much."
