"Are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Becca and Sam were sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn between them and you were almost jealous that you couldn't stay with them.

"We're sure. It's honestly going to end up being a mess," Becca said, and you laughed even though she was probably right. There was no way everyone could be nice to each other for a whole night even if it was Thanksgiving. "Besides, we wouldn't want to crash your date!"

As if on cue, there was a knock on the door and you shushed her, making her laugh. "It isn't a date when the whole town is going to be there, plus Grizz and I aren't even together."

Becca scoffed and signed something to Sam, making him laugh. You pulled the door open and were met with a smiling Grizz holding something that resembled cookies...maybe. "You look nice," he said, letting his eyes run over your outfit.

"You clean up pretty nice too," you replied, reaching out to push a piece of his hair back in place. "What is that?" You were pointing down at his plate and he shrugged in response.

"Kind of a cookie-brownie-cake combo." He saw your look of disgust and smiled shyly, stepping into the house. "Baking really isn't my thing. Or cooking, so I hope you made something better."

He set the plate down on the coffee table and Sam looked over excitedly but wrinkled his nose upon seeing them. You laughed and grabbed your own plate of cookies from the kitchen table, waving them at Grizz. "We can pretend you contributed. You can even carry the plate," you said and he grinned, taking it from your hands.

"This is why you're the best." You tried to ignore Becca's pointed look from over his shoulder and turned to the door instead. "Becca, you and Sam aren't coming?"

"We're going to avoid disaster tonight," she said and Grizz agreed that it was a good idea. "So on a scale of 1-10, how edible are these?"

Grizz gave an uneasy look and you laughed. "Pregnant Becca has no boundaries. They look like a solid 6, I'd say go for it," you answered, saying goodbye over your shoulder and pulling Grizz out the door.

Your teeth chattered as soon as the air collided with you and Grizz, ever the gentleman, shrugged off his sweater and draped it over your shoulders. "That better?"

"Yeah, but won't you get cold?"

"Not important," he said, and you felt your stomach do a little flip at his thoughtfulness. You hadn't been lying when you told Becca that you and Grizz weren't together; you sometimes held hands and maybe hugged but you had never had a real kiss or anything like that.

You had been thinking so much about how you wouldn't mind having a label on your relationship with Grizz that you were surprised to find him opening the door to the cafeteria with a flourish. As soon as you entered, you were greeted with amazing smells, and you were honestly impressed that a bunch of teens could cook as well as it looked like they could.

"I brought cookies," Grizz announced and Allie took them from his hands with a smile and a comment on how good they looked.

"And what did you bring (Y/N)?" She had a teasing smile and gestured to a table at the far end of the room. "I'll go put these on the table."

You found seats near Luke and Helena and felt yourself actually relaxing and having fun. The town seemed really to be coming together and you were proud of how far you all had come. The drama club skit sort of put a damper on the night, but nothing a few sweet treats couldn't fix.

You held your fork out to Grizz and pointed at the pumpkin pie in front of you. "Grizz, you have to try this! It is the best pie I have ever had, hands down. Who made it?"

"I think it was Elle," Helena replied and Grizz wrinkled his nose down at it. "Yeah I feel the same way about pumpkin pie," she added with a giggle.

You gave him an offended look as you snatched your fork away. "Seriously? Pumpkin pie is the pinnacle of Thanksgiving! If there's no pie there's no Thanksgiving!" Elle was walking past with Campbell and you tapped her so she would turn around. "This pie is to die for Elle, I need your recipe!"

She looked pale and gave you a weak smile before turning and letting Campbell lead her out. Grizz frowned after her and looked back to you, but you shrugged and continued to eat.

You both offered to stay back and help Allie and Will clean up. Over the last hour you had started to feel sick but you hated to be fussed over so you tried to ignore it.

"Maybe we shouldn't have been so trustworthy with a bunch of incompetent teenagers making food for everyone," Allie mumbled as she pulled tablecloths off. "I'm really not feeling great."

"I feel alright," Grizz said, frowning over at where you had began leaning on the table, a fogginess settling in your head. "You're pretty quiet over there, feeling okay?"

You nodded and faked a small smile which you knew Grizz wouldn't buy. He didn't have time to start hovering over you because Allie suddenly took off outside followed by Will who was shouting for help soon after.

You felt like you should be out there too but all of a sudden the room was spinning and your stomach felt like it was trying to tear it's way out of your body. You whimpered and slid down the wall, squeezing your eyes shut tightly as the door flew open again.

"(Y/N), we need to take Allie to the clinic. A lot of people are getting sick and it seems pretty bad. It must be food poisoning or something," Grizz rambled, too busy grabbing everyone's coats to notice you weren't standing where you had been before. "(Y/N)?"

You whimpered again from your spot on the floor and Grizz dropped everything he had been holding, falling to his knees beside you. "Hurts," was all you could say, curling your arms around your stomach.

He easily scooped you into his arms, wrapping his sweater around your shoulders again and tossing Allie and Will's coats to them on the way out the door. "(Y/N)'s sick too."

The clinic was packed full of people and the bright lights and noise did nothing for your pounding head. You turned your head and buried it in his neck, gripping onto some of the fabric of his t-shirt. "We need beds Kelly!"

Kelly looked frazzled as she helped Allie stumble to a bed and pointed Grizz over to another one. "Symptoms?"

"Same as everyone else," Will said, holding Allie's hair. "Puking, headache, stomach cramps."

"Here," Grizz said, sliding a bucket under your chin that was still tucked into his neck. "I know throwing up isn't your favorite thing in the world but I promise it'll make you feel a little better." He pressed a kiss to your forehead and rubbed your back as you finally let yourself throw up.

"Get her to drink some of this," Kelly said, handing Grizz a bottle of Pedialite. The thought of putting anything else into your body made your stomach roll again but this time it was accompanied by shaking that you felt you had no control over.

"Hey, (Y/N)? Oh my God, Kelly help! Help, I think she's having a seizure! Someone!" Grizz didn't panic unless something was really wrong so you felt sure that this was it for you, this would be when you died.

He was bouncing on the balls of his feet, holding tightly onto your hand as Kelly tried to put in an IV with shaking hands. "You're okay," he was whispering, although he didn't sound all that convincing. "Hey, I love you, okay? You can't leave me, I love you."

Kelly finally got the IV in and, after a minute, you stopped shaking, opening your eyes to see Grizz with tear-stained cheeks. "I love you too," you whispered and he laughed, pulling you gently into a hug. "And I'm not going anywhere."

"Of course you aren't, you're too tough to have a little bit of food poisoning be your downfall." You took a deep breath and felt him tense up beside you.

"I'm okay, just needed to breath. Don't worry about me, like you said I'm tough," you said, laying down on his chest and smiling at the feeling of his arms wrapping around you.
