Chapter 10

"I hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year. See you all next year, class!" Mr. Bonifacio said before he went out of our classroom.

Nag-diwang ang mga kaklase ko dahil holiday vacation na. Naka-ngiti lang ako habang inaayos ang mga gamit ko. It will be Christmas in three days and I think I will have great holidays again ever since Mommy died.

While fixing my things, I glanced at Caius who was talking with Kurt. Akala ko makakalimutan ko na ang nararamdaman ko sa kanya matapos ang ilang linggong hindi namin pagkikita pero hindi pa pala nabura ni Wayne ang feelings ko para sa kanya.

I shouldn't knocked at his window at that day but when I saw how devastated he was, I can't stopped myself. I meant it when I told him to follow Athena dahil ayaw kong nakikitang malungkot sya and I know it is Athena who makes him happy.

But my feelings for him revived when he went with me to Lola Sol's. Dati pangarap ko lang makasama sya sa isang kotse at makasabay na kumain tapos natupad iyon nang araw na iyon kaya hindi ko alam paano pigilan ang nararamdaman ko na bumalik. That's why after that day, I felt guilty to Wayne na ginagawa ang lahat para mapasaya ako lagi.

"Finn. May meeting daw tayo." Rocel said when I was about to leave our classroom.

Tumango naman ako at sumunod sa kanya papunta sa gitnang parte ng room namin. Yumuko lang ako nang magtama ang paningin namin ni Caius. Think of Wayne's effort, Finn. I chanted on my head so that I won't entertain my feelings for Caius.

"Kahit bakasyon dapat makapag-conduct na tayo ng survey." Caius said.

"Hey, Finn. Ikaw ang gagawa ng survey." I heard Daniella said kaya nai-angat ko ang ulo ko.

"She did the introduction already, Danae." Caius said pero mariin lang ang tingin sa akin ni Daniella.

"I don't care, Caius. It's just survey kaya madali lang iyon." She said while her brow is arched and she did not removed her stare to me kaya kinabahan ako.

"Okay lang. Sige, ako na ang gagawa." Sabi ko kaya napa-ngiti si Daniella. I tried so hard to avoid in looking at Caius.

"Kami na lang mag-tatally, Caius." Kurt said.

After our meeting, I went out of our room but I heard Daniella called me. Tumigil ako sa paglalakad at hinarap sya. She walked with confidence and I can't help but to lower my gaze. She stopped in front of me and we share the same height because of her high-heeled shoes.

"I want you to give the results to Kurt before Christmas ends." Masungit nyang sabi.

My eyes went wide with what she said. "It's impossible. And hindi ba pwedeng after Christmas na lang?" Mahinahon kong sabi para hindi sya ma-offend pero tinaasan lang nya ako ng kilay.

"Make it possible, Finn. You finished the introduction in just a day so I bet you can finish the survey in 3 days."

"But Danae--"

"It's Daniella for you. Hindi tayo close." Medyo inis nyang sabi kaya napatango ako dahil sa takot.

"It's Christmas, Daniella. Baka pwedeng--"

"I don't care. Do what I told you to do or else ipapaalis kita sa group natin."

Wala na akong nagawa nang talikuran nya ako. How can I do the survey when it's Christmas? Saan ako hahanap ng mga participants gayong halos lahat ng tao nasa bahay nila at nagcecelebrate ng pasko? I was looking forward to celebrate Christmas with Lola Sol and Kitty pero I think sa New Year na lang dahil sigurado akong tototohanin ni Daniella ang sinabi nya.

"Merry Christmas, Lola Sol and Kitty." I greeted when I entered Lola Sol's house.

It's Christmas Eve at pumuslit ako para mapuntahan sila dahil hindi rin naman ako makakapunta bukas. Tumigil sa pagluluto si Lola Sol at yinakap ako tapos ay si Kitty naman.
