Chapter 19

Dingding's P.O.V.

Today is the day of our seventh-year anniversary. To be honest, I'm really, really nervous because of what will be happening tonight. I've already prepped everything, it's just a matter of not chickening out when the time comes. Sex for me really is a HUGE thing because one, I never thought I would have sex since I planned on focusing on my career my entire life, and two, no other man has touched me except for Ruwei, so everything has to be perfect.

We would be going on a hike during the day and then coming back home to freshen up for dinner. I am dressed in a very casual hiking look, as well as Ruwei. Once we arrived at the hiking site, we got out of the car and began walking into the woods.

Ruwei and I are both very athletically strong because of our careers, so this 8-mile hike really isn't much for either of us. I walked in front of Ruwei as we began walking up the trail. Thankfully there weren't that many people, basically no one besides us.

Throughout the hike to the waterfall, we stopped many times to take pictures and enjoy our time together with nature. It's just so rare for the two of us to be anywhere except our studios or film sets. So this time is really precious to us both.

Once we reached the waterfall, we found a huge rock to sit on and we began having our lunch. "I think I have an idea for a new song." I said as we began eating, "I'm guessing it has something to do with our hike?" Ruwei asked as he bit into his sandwich.

"Yes, I normally don't write songs about romantic love, but there's a first for everything." I said as Ruwei scooted over and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, "Ruwei, how are you going to eat with your arm around me?" I chuckled.

"Honey, this is the only way I can eat in peace. Ding, you can't seriously just have a salad." He said as I pulled out the salad I packed. As celebrities, our figures are more important than our lives. People can be so, so judgemental. So I don't want to take any chances.

"I actually like salads. They're healthy and tasty." I said as I began eating. Ruwei pulled another box out of the bag, "I made some shumai earlier today because I figured you would only pack a salad, here, try some." He used his chopsticks to feed one to me.

"You could actually be a cook if you weren't an actor." I laughed as he fed me another one, "You have to eat some too, you're feeding all of them to me." I laughed as I ate about half of the amount of packed. "I made this for you; if you don't eat it, who will?" He chuckled.

"I love your cooking so much." I giggled as we finished eating. "And I am so glad to see you eating. Ding, remember what I told you, okay? Health always comes first." He said as I nodded. Hopefully, in the future, I will care less about my figure, but as of right now, it's still top priority.

He helped me up as we headed to take some pictures at the waterfall. I put my hand onto one of the rocks and closed my eyes as I felt the water move past my hand. It's so cold and refreshing.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Ruwei jump into the little pond. My eyes widened when he began splashing around. "Ruwei!!!" I yelled, but just as I was about to walk off the rock I was standing on, my foot slipped. Darn it, I forgot that I was standing on a bunch of wet rocks.

"Dingding!!" Ruwei yelled as I fell into the water. I felt my heart stop for a moment when the ice-cold water pierced through me. My body is very sensitive, it doesn't do well with too cold or too hot, and this waterfall water is way too cold for me.

Thankfully, I know how to swim. I quickly resurfaced and I felt hands on my waist, propping me up and even further above the water, allowing me to breathe so much easier. I looked behind me to see Ruwei with a very, very worried, and concerned expression.
