Dingding's P.O.V.
Ruwei continued to paste aloe onto my skin twice every day. It's a surprisingly quick remedy, along with some other skincare products. Within three days, my rash completely disappeared. I was so happy that I ran around the house jumping up and down.
I am flying to Europe tomorrow to perform at the Lancaster House to Prince William and Duchess Kate in three days. It's one huge opportunity. Ruwei is going to stay here to watch over Kevin because now that he's in school, everything is different.
When Kevin heard that I'm going to be out of this country for a week, he just about lost it. He really is a mama's boy. He's still mad at me and I'm leaving tomorrow. "Ding, I packed you some medication in your purple bag, just in case," Ruwei said as I finished packing everything.
"Ruwei, everything's going to be okay, it's just one week," I said as I set everything downstairs so Liam and them could easily pick everything up tomorrow morning when they come to get me.
"I know, but I can't even go a day without seeing you, nonetheless a whole week." He said sadly as I tied my hair up and continued pushing everything to the corner. I let out a tired sigh as I gave Liam and them a call. "Liam, I know, I promise I will sleep early tonight." I snapped into the phone.
"Kevin, downstairs! Dinner time!!" I yelled as I placed everything onto the table. "Ding, go rest for a while, I can take care of this," Ruwei said as he sat me down at the kitchen island. "Ruwei, you're gonna have to take care of Kevin for a whole week by yourself, and he's not an easy kid to care for. Plus, your drama is still filming." I sighed.
"Honey, don't worry about me and Kevin, I promise you I will find a way. Just focus on your performance. This is a huge opportunity for you!" He said as he called for Kevin again. "I'm going to check on him." Ruwei went upstairs and came down with Kevin kicking and thrashing in his arms.
Honestly, I know I should spend more time with them tonight since I'm leaving tomorrow, but there are just so many things that need to be taken care of, so Kevin's just going to have to learn this the hard way. That his parents are celebrities and going out on business trips is unavoidable.
"I don't want mommy to leave!" Kevin screamed as he started crying. Ruwei tried comforting him for a little while, but since Kevin wouldn't calm down, he eventually gave up and we began eating. Once I finished eating, I grabbed my keys and went to the studio for a couple of hours.
By the time I came home, it was already almost 11 pm. Ruwei was sitting in the kitchen waiting for me. "Ruwei, Kevin's asleep?" I asked tiredly as he nodded. "I'm going to go see him." I set my bags down and went into his room.
I sat down on his bed and put my hand on his cheek, he immediately opened his eyes. "Mommy?" He asked quietly. I smiled and opened my arms as he crawled into them. "Kevin, mommy is a singer, part of my job is going to different places to perform. I know you're sad, trust me, mommy doesn't want to leave you either, but it's only for a week." I said gently.
"I know, daddy told me earlier today." He continued holding onto me, "Mommy, can I sleep with you and daddy tonight? Please?" He asked as I nodded and picked him up. Wow, he's getting big, but still able to fit into my arms. I carried him into my room and set him onto the bed.
I tucked him in and gave him a kiss before going into the bathroom and taking a quick shower. I changed into my PJs and headed back out to see Ruwei looking over Kevin. I gently put my hand on Ruwei's shoulder as I watched Kevin with him.
Ruwei stood up and suddenly swept me into his arms bridal style. I let out a little giggle as he twirled me around. "Dingding, make sure to take care of yourself, okay? Don't put too much pressure on yourself." He said as I nodded. He leaned down and gave me a kiss before putting me on the bed and tucking me in.
He got in on the other side of Kevin and we fell asleep shortly after. The next morning, once everything was ready and Liam was here to pick me up, I loaded everything into the van. I turned around to say a quick goodbye to them. I bent down and picked up Kevin.
He held onto me tightly as he started crying, "Sweetheart, remember what mommy told you last night. This is part of mommy's work and you have to understand that. I will be back after one week, during this week, please behave and don't cause any trouble for daddy, alright?"
He nodded as I wiped his tears away with my thumb, I gave him a kiss and another hug before setting him down. I looked at Ruwei and wrapped my arms around him, giving him a passionate kiss. "Honey, remember, take it easy." He said.
I nodded and gave him another kiss, Kevin another hug before I turned around and got into the van. I waved goodbye to them as they disappeared from my sight. My heart suddenly felt so heavy. This is my first time away from Ruwei and Kevin for such a long time.
One week later...
Ruwei's P.O.V.
Dingding should be getting ready to board her jet now. Over the past week, Kevin and I have watched nearly every single performance of hers since they are all streamed live. Kevin surprisingly behaved this past week, which I know is hard for him, but his mom did ask that of him before she left.
Kevin and I both miss her so much, but at the very least, she's coming back today! Just as I finished dropping Kevin off to school, I got a phone call from Liam. However, Liam told me that Dingding can't board her jet because half of her dancers' visas aren't working, so they can't come back into China.
Dingding's is fine, but she's refusing to leave half her team in Europe while she comes back. Liam told me she had a complete breakdown when the airport security stopped them, and now, she and her other team members are working furiously fast to try and fix this problem.
I put my hands over my face knowing how much pressure and stress she must be under right now. It's already hard enough for her to watch over everyone while performing concerts in a foreign land, now, she has to deal with this? She is too nice, way too nice, especially considering what her team has done to her.
I tried calling her, but everything went to voicemail. I began to grow worried as time passed. I opened my phone again and called Rose, telling her about this situation and for her to watch Kevin for a day or two while I fly to Europe.
I texted Dingding and told her I'm coming, and for her to hold on for a little while longer. I sped the entire way to the airport and hopped into my private jet, telling my pilot to go as fast as he could to Europe. It's going to take 11 hours, but I also do know that visas take a while.
Dingding's P.O.V.
After five more hours of just sitting here waiting for the damn agency to call my dancers in one by one, I finally had the chance to check my phone. Everything was going so well, we were all about to board, but then the security halted half my team saying their visas had expired.
Liam told me to go back to China because I have another performance in three days, but how can I go when half my team is stuck in France? I held it in until I got everyone to the agency, then I started crying. I wish Ruwei were her. I've never dealt with this kind of situation before, but I know he has.
"Dingding, Ruwei is on his way here. I've already sent him the address of this agency." Liam said as I shot out of my chair, "Ruwei's coming here??" I asked, "Yes, he is already on the plane and will be here within a couple of hours." I nodded.
"What about Kevin? Is Rose watching him?" He nodded and put his hand on my shoulder, "Ding, as I told you before, everything is different now. You have people you can lean on in your life, you don't always have to be the strongest, okay? Try and get some sleep, this might take a while." He said before draping a blanket over me.
I sighed as I looked at my dancers. We should have been in China by now, but now, we're stuck in Europe. I miss my husband. I miss my son. I miss them so much.
I opened my eyes when I felt a hand on my shoulder. Everything came into focus a couple of seconds later. I gasped when I saw Ruwei in front of me. I threw the blanket off of me and jumped onto him. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he spun me around while holding onto me tightly.
I started crying, knowing that I'm not alone anymore.
