Dingding's P.O.V.

I have now been in labor for 24 hours already. I am so numb from the pain I'm experiencing that I don't have the energy to do anything. I barely have the energy to breathe. I know I should take the medication, but I've made it this far, I can't do anything to harm my child.

Ruwei came back into the room holding a small bag in his hands. He pulled up a chair and sat next to me. "Dingding, I had Rose go to your favorite restaurant, look, one of your all-time favorite foods, dumplings!" He said in as energetic of a tone as he could force out.

I just looked at the dumplings, then at my husband, who looked like he was on the verge of crying. I hadn't eaten anything in the past day. I barely drank any water as well. If there is any bright side, at least I'm slowly moving to ten centimeters.

My boy is just taking his sweet time. "Dingding, please...I know you're in a lot of pain and discomfort, but you have to eat something, even if it's just one dumpling, please..." He begged as tears circled in his eyes.

I sighed as I slowly nodded. One of the nurses adjusted my bed so I was in more of a sitting position now. The happy look on Ruwei's face is one I haven't seen in so long. Both of us are so drained and tired. I just want this to be over with, I just want to hold my child.

Ruwei gently fed me the dumpling. In normal circumstances, I would have immediately sunk into food heaven but considering the amount of pain I'm in right now, I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. After about three dumplings, I pushed his hand away and buried my head back into my pillow.

I felt his hand on my back, "Thank you, honey." He whispered before giving me a kiss. I began shaking again as I started tearing up. I feel as if my body is slowly being torn apart even though I haven't even started physically pushing yet.

"Ruwei, help her stand up and walk around the room a bit. Gravity should help push Kevin out quicker." Doctor Lin instructed, I felt Ruwei grab onto me, but I just shook my head. "No, I don't want to stand up," I said in a frightened tone. Laying down already hurts enough, I can't even imagine what standing up is gonna do to me.

"Standing up and walking around will help push Kevin out quicker, come on, I'll support you up. You can do this." He said as he helped me stand up. The moment I stood up, my knees felt weak. I felt Ruwei tighten his grip around me as we began slowly walking around the room.

I stopped walking and pressed my head against Ruwei's chest, "Ruwei, why doesn't Kevin want to come out? I can't do this anymore, Ruwei, it hurts so, so much..." I sobbed as he took me into his arms. But before he could say anything, one of the nurses approached us.

"Your family members are outside but they would like to see you really quick, do you want me to let them in?" She asked as Ruwei nodded. "See, honey, you're not alone." He whispered. The doors opened and for the first wave, it was both our parents and John.

Ruwei let go of me as the five of them embraced me. I full-on started crying. "Sweetheart, it's okay, don't cry, we're all here for you." My mom comforted as she caressed my cheek, but I just continued crying. "Mom, it's already been 24 hours and I'm only 6 centimeters dilated, it hurts, it hurts so much." I sobbed.

"Sis, I know that you got this, you don't have to worry about anything. You have us and Ruwei beside you, we won't let anything happen to you." John said as he gave me a tight hug. "Look at what we brought you." He handed me a bag and I looked inside.

"Thanks guys, but..." Ruwei took the bag out of my hand, "I'll make sure she finishes it. She only ate three dumplings in the past 24 hours and I had to force that down her." He sighed as he helped me lay back down.
