Dingding's P.O.V.
In just two more weeks, If I don't get the cure, I will die. The symptoms have been a lot better but then again, it doesn't mean I'm not gonna die just because I'm feeling a little better because the poison itself is still in my body. I let out a little sigh as I continued watching Kevin play around in my studio.
I snapped back into reality when I heard my phone ring. It's from one of Ruwei's workers. After I answered the phone, I nearly fainted. I held in my tears as I grabbed onto Kevin and began running towards my car. Kevin stopped talking when he saw the state I was in.
The entire drive to the hospital was filled with tears. I didn't want to cry in front of my son, but I also couldn't hold it back. I put my hand over my mouth as I began running into the hospital with Kevin's hand in mine. The nurses directed me to Ruwei's room.
I full-on began crying when I saw Ruwei hooked onto tubes and machines, but he still had on the warmest smile possible. "Ruwei..." I whispered as I let go of Kevin's hand and wrapped my arms around my husband. I began crying into his shoulder as he rubbed my back.
"Ruwei, how could you do this?" I asked through tears as I placed Kevin onto the bed so Ruwei could hold him. He fainted because he lost too much blood. He lost too much blood because he's been secretly giving up his blood into the pills I've been taking.
That's why I've been feeling immediately better after I take each pill because it contains his blood, which is a huge factor in the cure. "Dingding, I told you before, you mean too much to me, I can't lose you." He said as he kept an arm around Kevin.
"Ruwei, I told you before, I can't do this to you. You've already given me so much, so, so much, I'm already the happiest woman on Earth. Even though it's a short time, but I've never been happier. Ruwei, you have to stay healthy because you need to look after our son." I said through tears.
"Ding, they found a way to finish the cure." He said, causing my eyes to widen as I looked at him. "You and I could never, ever hurt Kevin, which is why I told them to look for something else, and they found it. They were able to find a rare item and use it to make it into a cure that will completely cure you, just...just as long as they use my blood." He finished.
"Ruwei..." I cried, startling Kevin. "Ding, listen to me, I want you to continue living. I'm not going to let anything happen to you. Kevin needs his mother." I began furiously shaking my head as more tears flooded my eyes. "No! Ruwei, I told you to give up!" I yelled.
"Ding, I've already given up half my blood, tomorrow, they're going to come and take some more until they meet the needed amount. I don't have any other wishes, my only wish is for you and Kevin to continue living." He said sadly as he gave Kevin a kiss.
No matter what, I can't let him die. I know Kevin needs his mom, but he also needs his dad, no matter what, I cannot let Ruwei die for me. I gave Rose a call and moments later, she appeared in the room. I turned to Kevin and held him in my arms.
"Kevin, do you remember what mommy told you a couple of months ago? How you have to be a good boy and a filial child?" He nodded, "I wish that I could spend more time with you, but...mommy has to leave." From the corner of my eye, I saw Ruwei begin to panic.
Kevin began crying as he rolled his head into my chest, "Mommy's so sorry, sweetheart, but you have to promise me to stay strong. No matter what happens, you have to listen to daddy, don't ever anger him, okay? You will always be mommy's little boy. Mommy will always love you, forever and always." I said through tears.
"Mama!!!" Kevin cried as he continued holding onto my shirt. I kept my hand on the back of his head as I held him as close to me as possible. I shut my eyes as I rested my head against his. I'm sorry, Kevin, mommy can't live up to her promise of watching you grow up, but at least this way, you'll have one parent instead of none.
I gave him one last kiss before quickly handing him to Rose. I continued sobbing as Rose began dragging Kevin out of the room. I've never seen Kevin in a sadder state. He was yelling, crying, kicking, and biting everything in his way to try and reach me.
I looked at Ruwei, who was being held down by the nurses who ran into this room. "Ruwei, I can't let you die for me. Stay strong, continue living, and make sure no one hurts our son. Ruwei, no matter where I end up, I'll always love you." I said as he began losing it.
I exited the room and made sure Kevin was not anywhere near me. I grabbed a blade and took a deep breath. The only way Ruwei can continue living is if I die, then he won't have to give up any more blood for me, and this will finally be over.
With one swift motion, I plunged the blade into my stomach. My entire body began growing weak as I felt blood begin to leave my body. As I was falling to Mother Earth, I saw Ruwei run to me. Then, everything went black.
Ruwei's P.O.V.
My entire grew weak after seeing Dingding leave the room. I knew exactly what she was going to do. By killing herself, I wouldn't have to continue giving up my blood and I wouldn't eventually die. I wanted to stop her, but there were about ten nurses holding me down.
Seeing her hold onto Kevin and cry, then seeing her hand him to Rose and Kevin screaming for his mom, it really made me realize how much I've failed as a husband and father. When I finally threw everyone off of me and detached all the tubes on me, I ran out of the room and nearly fainted when I saw Dingding stab herself.
I watched as blood began pouring out of her. I watched as the love of my life began collapsing onto the ground. I remember screaming her name, crying her name, begging for Heaven to give her another chance at life because she deserves so much better.
Before I could reach her, the doctors grabbed onto me and prevented me from getting close to her as they began working on her. I fell to the ground as I continued yelling for her. How could she just leave me and Kevin like this? We were so close to saving her.
All those years I spent courting her, chasing her, now that she's finally my woman, I've lost her. All those times I would hold her in my arms and promise to protect her, I've failed her so much. Now because of me, Kevin has to grow up without a mother.
Kevin has grown so attached to Dingding, he literally cannot go a single minute without her in his view otherwise he will have a meltdown. I continued crying and crying as I watched the doctors wheel her away. I tried running after her, but my entire body was weak. I couldn't move.
Until I hear it from the doctors, I'm not believing anything. I know she is still alive. She cannot leave me. As I was cramped against the waiting chair, I saw Rose walk over to me. I immediately sprang up when I saw Kevin begin to reach and cry for me.
I took him into my arms and held him tightly as he began crying even harder. "Daddy, where's mommy?" He cried as he looked into my eyes through his bloodshot ones. "Kevin, mommy's taking a little nap right now," I whispered, holding in my own tears.
"I want my mommy!!" He yelled as he shut his eyes and began crying again. I patted his back and took out my phone. I bit my inner cheek to prevent myself from breaking down in front of him. "Kevin, mommy's going to sing to you," I said as I clicked on one of her songs.
I put my hand over my face as I heard Dingding's angelic voice. Kevin grabbed onto my phone as he stared at his mother's face through the screen. At least this seemed to calm him down a bit, but it only made me worse. I took a deep breath to control my emotions.
Her beautiful voice can only be heard behind a screen now. No, I must stay positive. I know that a stab wound to the stomach isn't always lethal, so I have to stay positive. I know that she's going to be okay.
I looked at Kevin and smiled a little as he began drifting off to a deep slumber. Kevin, no matter what happens, daddy will always be by your side. You will grow up with a mother. I will make sure Dingding never leaves your ears or eyes. Your mom has sacrificed too much for us.
Kevin, you are a product of me and mommy's undying love, no matter what, we won't let anything happen to you.
