Dingding's P.O.V.
Only ten more minutes until my concert. Ever since I saw Ruwei like that with that woman, I just couldn't focus on anything else. Images of his hands all over her just keep running through my head. I'm not sure if I'll even be able to successfully finish this concert.
Liam even questioned me, but I just wouldn't talk. I haven't talked or smiled since I saw that setting. Liam sighed as he handed me my microphone, "Dingding, I don't know what happened, but whatever did happen, don't let it affect you this much. Remember how hard you worked to get to where you are today." He said before giving me a pat on the shoulder.
I slowly nodded as I began tearing up again. He quickly handed me a tissue and continued comforting me until I had to go on stage. I quickly got myself together and put on my fake smile. The smile that celebrities rely on continue surviving through fame.
The world is fame is so hard. I honestly don't know how I managed to make it this far. As I began singing a love song I wrote for Ruwei, I began crying. I tried controlling my emotions, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't continue with this song.
I stopped singing halfway but thankfully the music continued. I could hear the audience scream words of comfort, telling me not to cry, but I just kept crying. I managed to get myself together after a couple more seconds. I listened to the music for a little while, determining where I am in the song, then continuing to sing.
Thankfully the next couple of songs are all songs I wrote about either harvesting or life morals, nothing Ruwei related, so I was able to finish singing. Once I was lowered backstage, my crew members came to me and began de-accessorizing me.
"Dingding, what happened up there?" Liam asked as I sighed and took a deep breath, "I'm guessing you're unhappy because of Ruwei?" He asked he pulled me into a corner, I just simply nodded. He asked me what happened and I told him the shorter version.
"Dingding, that's his job. You know that. Plus, all these years, the things he's done for you, how could you be angry about this?" He said, "I know he's great to me, I know he loves me, and I know that's his job, but I still saw it. I saw him all touchy with that woman and I can't get that image out of my head, Liam, it's stuck there and it's filling me with negative thoughts." I cried.
"Shh, don't cry, don't cry. I know it's not something you want to see, but you need to know that that's his job. He's an actor and dramas and movies nowadays all are about love, it's not something he can just avoid." He said as I stopped crying.
"Where's Kevin?" I asked as I blew my nose. "He's with Ruwei." I stopped and looked at him, "When did he get here?" I asked, "Ding, he saw you cry onstage. He and Kevin are both waiting for you in your dressing room. Talk to him, communication in any relationship is key, okay?"
He gave me a little push as I slowly headed to my room. Once I opened the door, Ruwei immediately rushed up to me, but I backed up, causing him to stop and looked at me confused. I motioned for Kevin to come to me and when he did, I grabbed his hand and began leading him out.
But before I could fully step out of the room, Ruwei grabbed me. "Dingding, what happened? I know you cried on stage, you cried during one of the songs you wrote to me. Ding, did I do something that hurt you? You never avoid me like this." He asked.
"Let go of me," I said angrily before yanking my arm out of his grip. I gave Kevin a tug and we began heading out of the studio. My security guards followed us as we headed to the limo. Flashes began to go off as fans began running towards me.
I tried my best to smile all the way until we got into the limo, where my smile died down again. "Mommy, are you mad at daddy?" Kevin asked as the car began moving. I pulled my phone out and gave Rose and John a call. "Kevin, I'm going to drop you off back home and Rose will watch you until daddy gets back, mommy has to take care of some business," I said.
Kevin nodded sadly. I waved to Rose and watched Kevin go into the house before we took off and headed to John's house. I'm going to stay the night there, I just can't deal with Ruwei right now. I know it's not his fault at all, but I need some time alone to process my thoughts.
Maybe John and Lily will be able to help me out during this process, and playing with Elisa will make things better as well. I muted my phone when Ruwei began texting and calling me.
I talked to John and Lily for the entire evening. To be honest, it really did help a lot. I feel a lot better, but I'm assuming that by now, Ruwei is searching all over Beijing for me. I know this isn't fair to him, but life isn't always fair. Around midnight, just when I was about to go to sleep, I heard a knock on the door.
John, Lily, and I headed downstairs to see who it was. I widened my eyes when I saw Ruwei. I watched as he let out a huge sigh of relief when he locked eyes with me. I turned around and was about to head upstairs when Lily grabbed onto me.
"John, what's going on? Dingding! Why did you answer any of my calls?? Do you know how worried I was??" He yelled as he came inside. "Dingding, remember what Lily and I told you earlier tonight," John said before giving me a pat on the shoulder and heading upstairs with Lily.
Ruwei took a couple of deep breaths as I sat down on the couch. "Ding, if I did something that hurt you, you know that running away is not going to fix anything. I had my entire crew along with yours searching all over the place for you." He said breathlessly.
He took another deep breath and looked at me, "I'm going to take a wild guess here. It's because of Ginny, isn't it?" He asked as I looked at him. Well, I guess people say he's smart for a reason.
"I know you went to pick up Kevin at the set today. I know what we were filming earlier today, you must have seen one of the scenes being shot when you went to get Kevin." He said as I lowered my eyelids once again. "Ding, you know that's my job. After everything we've been through, you should know how much I love you."
He sat down next to me, "Trust me, I don't want to film those kinds of dramas, but all the movies and shows these days are all centered around that one word, love. Even if I don't want to, I have to." He sighed and put his hand on top of mine, but I just pulled away and turned around.
"Ding, I know that no matter what I say right now, it's not going to make you feel better. So how about this. You remember how I told you that one of the main reasons I became an actor was so I could have more chances to work with you? Okay, now that I finally have you, I don't need to continue acting anymore, especially if it's going to hurt our relationship."
I opened my eyes and turned to look at him, he can't do this every single time to guilt me, it's not gonna work this time. "I know what you're thinking, I'm not threatening or trying to guilt you. Because of this, you've gotten hurt so many times already, and the last thing I want is for you to get hurt."
"Once I finish this drama, I'm going to tell my manager to either find me ordinary roles in dramas or I'll back out of the acting industry altogether." He didn't look like he was lying, and that's what scared me. "Dingding, you've gone through so much for me." He whispered.
"You really are the only woman that will ever have a place in my heart. We've been together for such a long time, you should know that by now." I looked at him for a couple more seconds before I wrapped my arms around him.
"You're not allowed to touch any other woman, ever!" I said through a crying voice. He chuckled a little as he rubbed my back and gave my temple a kiss, "Trust me, I can't even touch and kiss you enough." I angrily laughed a little before giving him a smack.
"Annoying." I pouted as I pulled away. He took me back into his arms once we stood up. "Everything you've been through for me, Ding, I promise, I will return a million times to you." He said as he ran his hand through my hair. He rested his hands on my waist and continued holding me.
"Mommy, daddy? You guys are hugging again?" I lifted my head up from Ruwei's shoulder to look at Kevin. I laughed a little when I motioned for him to join the hug. Ruwei and I both took a small step back so he could get in between us.
Kevin wrapped an arm around both our hips as we hugged. "Ahhh, too tight!!" Kevin screamed as Ruwei and I both bent down and hugged him, "Better?" He nodded happily and gave us both a kiss.
This is my beautiful life.
