Dingding's P.O.V.
I grabbed onto my ointment and looked around to make sure Ruwei wasn't around. I lifted up my shirt and sighed when I saw my stomach. It's never going to return to the way it was. I gently squeezed some of the ointment onto my hand and began spreading it across my scar.
I stopped when I heard Ruwei come out of the bathroom. I watched as his eyes trailed to my scar. His happy expression immediately died down, causing me to quickly pull my shirt back down. He sighed as he walked to me. He took my hands in his.
"Are you still hurting?" He asked as I shook my head, "Honey, don't worry, it really is getting a lot better now." I said as I felt his hand rest on my stomach, sighing again. "Ruwei, can you bring Kevin to me? It's his dinner time." He nodded and handed me Kevin.
I smiled as he began making funny faces at me. I gave him a gentle kiss before beginning to feed him. "You are mommy and daddy's precious little boy, aren't you, my darling?" I cooed. My first child. Once he was done, I handed him to Ruwei so he could be burped.
I carefully got out of bed and walked over to them as Ruwei put Kevin into his crib. "Dingding, you're out of bed??" He asked in a worried tone, "Honey, it's been 3 weeks already, I'm about healed at this point. Plus, it's not gonna do me any good to always be laying in bed."
He wrapped his arm around my waist as I looked at Kevin. "Ruwei, our child," I said proudly as tears flooded my eyes. The power of love really is something. Ruwei wrapped his arms around me from behind and rested his chin against my shoulder, giving my neck a kiss.
"Honey, if you ever feel any pain, you need to let me know immediately, okay? You had a hard delivery, you don't always have to be so strong in front of everyone. You're known as China's ironwoman, but I'm your husband, I will share your burdens. Now that we have a child, Kevin and I will share your burdens." I turned around in his arms as I cupped his face, "I love you so much, Ruwei. That is something that will never change." I whispered before placing my lips against his.
"But Ruwei, my stomach...it's not the same anymore. When we're intimate again..." I trailed off sadly. I am very self-conscious about my body. I'm not complaining about the scar, but I just won't look as nice as before when he sees my body.
I felt him grab onto my shoulders, "How on earth can you say something like that?" He asked, "You went through all this for me. You went through 24 hours of labor for me, then still had to end up doing a C-section. It's been almost a month now and you're still healing. The amount of pain you've gone through for me, Ding, is something I will never be able to repay you. How can you think this way?" He whispered.
"I know that this was for our child, but at the end of the day, I'm still a woman, a woman who just wants to look good for her husband," I said. "Ding, in my eyes, you will always be the most beautiful woman in the entire world. I love you for you." He said before kissing me.
I smiled as I took Kevin into my arms and gently rocked him. I started tearing up as I watched him make funny faces at me. Memories of me almost dying of pain in labor flooded my head, then after going through all that, having to go through a C-section.
The amount of love I have for this boy is not possible to say in words. I pressed my face gently against his face as I gave him a loving kiss. "Sweetheart, you're gonna grow up to be a good boy, but you are going to have to grow up under the pressures of fame, but mommy and daddy will do our best to protect you and give you as normal of a life as possible," I whispered as I tapped his little nose.
Ruwei wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, "Kevin, mommy's right, you will grow up to be a very filial child because mommy went through so much pain and efforts to bring you into this world. Don't let her efforts go to waste." I smiled as I continued watching him slowly drift off into a deep slumber. This is just the beginning of a beautiful life.
