Chapter 3

Dingding's P.O.V.

It's been about two weeks since that incident, thankfully there weren't any paparazzi or fans around to capture that moment and post it onto the web. But ever since that moment, I couldn't help but wonder why I felt as if I couldn't breathe when I was in his arms.

The way he looked into my eyes, the way he risked his own life to protect mine makes me question everything our marriage is based on. I rejected his proposal of us working together on that drama about fifty times, but my manager thought it was a good idea, so apparently my say isn't important anymore, so I guess I'm going to continue seeing him.

I had a huge breakdown when the kids' graduation ceremony was held. Even though I only taught them for one month, I still formed a very special bond with my four kids. Now that I'm no longer with them, I feel really sad and lonely. It makes me further want a kid of my own now.

Today is the first day where everyone will be meeting each other, day one of filming. This drama is supposed to be a blockbuster, it has all of China's most famous actors playing the lead and supporting roles, it's gonna cost quite some money to film.

I slipped into a casual blue dress and applied some light makeup before Rose called me to get ready to go. The hotel I'm currently staying at is only about ten minutes away from the studio, one of the shortest distances. I grabbed onto my things and got into the car with her.

After a short little while, we arrived at the studio. I let out a little gasp as this is the first time I've been in an official film set. The managers came and greeted me and led me on a tour of the set. I saw all the actors were either getting into their costumes or getting their makeup/hair done.

I let out a little mental sigh when Ruwei walked up to us. "Dingding, this is our lead male, Ruwei. He's the one who recommended you as our composer." The manager said as I put on a fake smile and shook hands with my husband. "I'm telling you, James, Dingding is one of the most talented singers you'll ever meet. This drama contains all of China's most famous celebrities, of course, she needs to be in here as well." He said.

Of course, he would do something like this. Once the tour was over, I went to go and meet all the different actors and crew members of this show, which honestly took forever since there are so many people. I sat down with a few other composers and we began discussing ideas.

We were in the middle of discussion ideas when I suddenly heard a very painful scream. I looked over to see the lead female actress on the ground crying and everyone rushing to her. We quickly rushed to her as well.

It turns out she fell down and broke her leg. I watched as the manager and directors began growing very frustrated. After all, their lead female broke her leg on day 1 of filming. What are they going to do? It's hard to get into character so quickly but filming cannot get pushed back.

"Dingding, I know this is a lot to ask, but would you be willing to play the lead female actress?" The director asked as everyone looked at me. I stood there shocked. I've never acted before, yet my first time is the protagonist? Plus, Ruwei is the male lead.

"Um, I...have never acted before," I said in a shaky voice, I know I could do it, but I don't want to because I don't want to act in a romance drama with Ruwei. "There's always a first to everything, plus, I'm sure you would do great." The director said as everyone began agreeing with him.

I let out a small sigh as I looked at Ruwei, who was smirking at me. Oh he's happy, isn't he? His goal is to frustrate me, to annoy me, well, he won this round because I can't back out of this. I reluctantly agreed. The moment I agreed, I was dragged into the dressing room.

This drama is a drama revolving around gods and goddesses, so there will be magic involved. Once I was in my golden dress with my headset and accessories, I was sent back to the cameras.
