Ivy's P.O.V
The windows were down causing the wind to flow through as it pleases. The fresh breeze on my skin felt amazing. My body was overheating from the inside out due to my nerves. Eric has had this date planned for a long time with only made my nerves worse. I was a bit worried that this night isn't going to end well. Eric has been really distant lately causing us to fight. I'm finally in a good spot in my life right not and I don't want to lose him.
"Ivy?" I heard a deep husky voice. I turned my attention on Eric as he glances at me while trying to drive.
"Huh?" I said. He reaches over and grabs my hand. I look down at our hands with a smile.
"Are you okay, baby?" He asked. I look back up at him as the car comes to a stop at a red light. I nodded to which he squinted his eyes. He didn't believe me. "What's wrong beautiful?" I look down.
"I'm just nervous that's all." I heard his soft chuckle and I look up at him. He smiles at me.
"Hope is just processing everything but she will be fine and Noah is stubborn but so will he. You have nothing to worry about." I take a deep breath.
"I wasn't worried about them." He gave me a confused look. The light turned green and I looked down. "It's green." The car starts moving once again and I waited for him to question me but he dropped the conversation. We pull up to his cabin that was a few miles away from campus. It was small house built out of wood planks. It had a small porch in the front as well as the back. The inside was lit up with candles and a fireplace as well as a few lamps. There was a small kitchen that also had the livingroom built into it. There was a master bedroom with a bathroom in it. The bed here was queen size with black and white bedsheets. Eric gets out and opens my door for me. I gave him a confused look. "You didn't tell me we were coming here. I would have packed." He smiles as he grabs my hand.
"I had Hope, do that for you." I let him walk me to the door as I was completely confused. He opens the door and I walk in. The smell of steaks filled the air and I hummed as I inhaled it. Eric leads me to the table as he pulls out my chair for me. I sit down as I watch him walk over to the stove. He comes over and sets a few pans and bowls down on the table and goes into the fridge to grab out some wine. He walks back over to the table setting a glass for wine in front of me and pours some. I watch him as he wears his smile with pride. He finally sets down after both of our plates were full of food. His eyes go on mine for the first time since we entered the cabin. "Something wrong my love?" I look around the table and look back at him.
"I'm a little confused because this took a lot of effort for a break-up." His smile drops.
"You want to break-up?" He asked. I shake my head.
"No, no but I thought you did." He lets out a dry laugh.
"Why would you think that?" I scuff.
"Because you have been really busy and we never have time for each other lately. I figured you were just doing everything you can to stay away from me." He shakes his head.
"Never that. I love you, Ivy. I always have. I would be a stupid man to ever give you up. I haven't tried to be distant. I just got nervous and excited about this date that I got caught up in it. You don't ever have to worry about me leaving because I can promise you that, that will never happen. Not unless you want me too." I smiled at him as I looked at him with love in my eyes. He grabs my hand and kisses it.
"Well in that case why did you go through so much trouble planning this date?" He stood up and walked over to me. I looked up at him.
"Because this is the first date that we didn't have to hide anything and you deserve to be spoiled like a queen." My eyes began to water a little bit. He bent down and kissed me softly. He kisses my forehead and walks back to his seat. We enjoy our meal that he cooked while he talked about what he wanted to do for Christmas break. After dinner, he brought out dessert which happened to be frozen yogurt and chocolate-covered strawberries.
"This date has been amazing," I spoke as I lifted my spoon for some froyo. He stands up. I give him a confused look as he held out his hand.
"Follow me." I took a bite and put it down as I gladly grabbed his hand. He led us to his bedroom which had a heart on it with rose peddles. A few roses around it. I look up at him and he smiles. He led us out the back door to the porch where he had a few blankets on the hammock. I smiled. I turned to him.
"Eric you didn't have to go all out for me. I would be happy with a simple dinner. But I do love the effort you went threw." He takes a deep breath.
"Turn around." I gave him a confused look.
"What?" He nods.
"Do it." I take one last glance before turning around. I look at the hammock for a few seconds. "Turn back around." I turned around and he was on one knee with a black box open and a 13-carat diamond ring. The band was gold but the diamond shined very brightly. I took a deep breath as I looked up at him. He smiles. "I tried to plan tonight very special because I want you to have everything you've always wanted. Because you deserve the world and more. You are a great friend and an amazing sister. You are a wonderful girlfriend but I don't want you to be my girlfriend anymore. I want you to be my wife. I want to give you more dates like this and show you the world. I want to have children with you and argue about who picks up the kids from school." I giggled as tears slid down my eyes. "Will you marry me, Ivy Princeton?" I nodded and kissed him.
"Yes, thousand times yes." He chuckles as he kisses me back. I look down at the ring as he slides the ring on my finger. He chuckles.
"Would you look at that? It fits perfectly." I tap his chest as I look back at him.
