Her Touch [Completed]

Eleven

The week progressed itself in a fast pace.

Throughout the week, Caleb and mom has been talking about jobs. I overheard Caleb say that his friends dad was looking for someone to help him down at his shop.

It required Caleb being at work for almost twelve hours a day for four days a week.

But the pay is pretty damn good.

I'm glad Caleb found something, so mom can take a little break. I could see the look on his face the whole time they were talking about it, and I knew he didn't want to do any type of work.

I told Kyndra and Harvey about what my mom said. Kyndra asked why she didn't just ask her to babysit me, which gained an eye roll from me.

Then I told Kyndra about our neighbor possibly checking up on me and her whole mood changed in an instant.

"I agree with you mother. Such a smart woman."

I went home that day after school. It was a Wednesday afternoon. Caleb was already gone, starting his new job and mom was actually getting ready for work when I got home.

"I'll be good." I smile. "No parties. Lock the door at all times and don't open for strangers."

My mom laughs. "Ha ha, very funny. Addy, I already called Dylan."

I look over at her as I grabbed a drink from the fridge. "And she said?"

"She'll be over here soon. I told her she didn't have to stay long. Just keep checking up on you." She smiled at me. "I explained the situation the best I could. She understood."

Opening my water bottle, I took a sip before letting my backpack slip from my shoulders onto the floor. I took out my medicine bottles that were in a plastic bag, then placed them on the counter.

"Don't forget to take your medicine after supper, ok? Caleb will be home around six."

I look at the time on the wall and saw that it was four. "Mom, that's two hours. Can't you trust me for two hours?"

She gave me a look, so I decided to shut up. I knew there were no use in arguing with her so I might as well shut up and deal with it.

There was a knock on the door and my mom smiled before walking out of the kitchen. I followed her. "Yay, the babysitter is here."

She turned her head and gave me a look before opening the door. I saw Dylan standing there, smiling. They talked for a moment until Dylan walked in then smiled at me.

"If you have any problems, call me first before calling the ambulance or anything."

Dylan slowly nods then looks over at me with an expression I couldn't read.

Mom told her everything she needed to know. She told her that I needed to take my medicine after I ate, then realized she wouldn't be here all night.

She said nevermind but to make sure that I'm ok.

"Caleb should be home around six, so if you don't mind-"

"I don't mind at all." Dylan smiled.

My mom looks at me and smiles. "Thank you so much, Dylan." She smiles then looks at me. "I love you. Call me if you need anything."

After she left, Dylan turns around and smiles at me. I slightly smile back before sighing. "I'm sorry."

"Why?" She gave me a confused look.

"For you having to basically babysit me?"

She slightly laughs then shook her head. "I don't mind. Your mom told me some things about what's-"
