One Month Later

I crawled on the floor into the bedroom then quickly hid on the side of the bed. I peeked up and saw Dylan sitting up, reading a book. I ducked back down then crawled a little closer to her.

Jumping up, I yelled. "Rawr!" I laughed when I saw her jump then she looked at me before holding her hand over her chest.

"Damn it, Addy!"

I climbed on the bed then sat there. I moved my hair from my face and smiled at her as she looked over at me. "Did I scare you?"

She placed her book down and I took this opportunity to crawl on her. I laid down and felt her wrap her arms around me

"Baby, you need to stop jumping around. Remember what the doctor said?"

I nodded as I remember. It's been a month since everything happened and it's still crazy to think I almost died.

I couldn't remember much about what happened. I remember the last thing, which was Colton pointing a gun to me then I fell to the floor before blacking out.

I even had nightmares about it for a while, waking up and gasping for air as I was clutching my scar where I was shot at.

It was a weird feeling and all the dreams felt too real.

Like I'm reliving it over and over again.

Dylan told me what happened afterwards and how she was scared I wouldn't make it. She said she was terrified and really didn't know what to do.

Told me that she couldn't sleep until she saw me again. She said they wouldn't let her see me until three days later when I was awake and doing ok.

I faintly remember seeing her at the hospital, but it was basically a blur.

She told me that Colton got sent to prison and they found him guilty, which meant he was serving twenty five years to life.

I recovered pretty good. I had to go to therapy for a few weeks in order to get my strength back and it was a struggle but I'm just glad I'm alive.

When I told Dylan about my nightmares, she told me to tell her when I had them if I wake up one night when I'm with her. She wanted to make sure I was ok and she was going to be here for me.

But when I did sleep over at her house, I never had them.

My mom took off work for a while and made sure she was with me the whole time. I couldn't do much of anything for the last month. I was having a hard time walking or moving around, so mom or Dylan was there to help me.

Sometimes Dylan would stay at the house with me and sleep in my room. It was weird and she kept complimenting my lava lamp at night.

When Kyndra found out, I remember she was freaking out and she stayed with me a few days also. She came to see me at the hospital along with Harvey but it was mostly a blur.

They brought me a teddy bear the size of a six year old. It barely fit through the door of the room I was in.

Kyndra did tell me that she didn't put the application in for the college yet. She wanted to wait until I was better, so we can go together. I told her she didn't have to do that but she said there was no other way.

When I did get back home, she was by my side with Harvey. They mostly just laid around with me since that's all I could do.

We watched tv or played games throughout the day when mom had to work.

I couldn't ask for better friends.

I have a nasty scar in the middle of my torso. It was below my breasts but not yet touching my stomach.
