The next couple of days were a little different.
Dylan started avoiding me again. I don't know why cause every time I'd try to text her, I wouldn't get a reply back.
I knew it had something to do with Colton, cause it always comes back to him.
The last few days, I saw his truck over in the driveway again. Just like last time when she was avoiding me and his truck was there.
I didn't know what was going on.
The end of the school year was approaching, so there was tests coming up that I had to focus on. I had a shit ton of studying to do, so I had to keep my mind focused.
But that really wasn't what I was worried about right now.
Dylan was on my mind and it made me fall into a hole of depression. I couldn't focus on anything as thoughts came out of nowhere one night and I was stuck inside my room.
This weekend, mom wanted me to go with her somewhere and Caleb was back home after not seeing him for almost a month.
I didn't know how to tell her that I didn't want to do anything and I didn't feel good.
Walking outside in the backyard, I looked around at everything as it was getting dark and I just wanted to be alone. I wanted to think about nothing and just relax.
As I sat down in the chair outside, I sighed as I stared up at the sky as I saw a few stars out. I located the big dipper then the little dipper, plus the brightest star that I could see.
I placed my arms behind my head and took a deep breath, trying to relax and not think about nothing else. I knew that allowing thoughts inside my head was only going to make things a whole lot worse than they already are.
Looking over at the house next door, I sighed as I really wish Dylan was here in my arms. I've been missing her a lot the last few days and it's hard when she's not near me.
I sent her another text and asked what she was doing, knowing I won't get a text back.
After a few minutes of staring at the stars, I heard a door shut and saw Tanner walking out the backdoor of his house. I leaned up and watched as he came over to the fence and hopped over it before walking through my yard.
Sitting up, I watched as he sat on the ground near me without say a single word. He looks up at me and smiles. "Hey, Addison."
"Hi, TJ."
He smiled. "I knew you were out here."
"How?"
"I saw you through my bedroom window." He motioned towards the house. "My window faces this way and I looked out and saw you."
I nod as I slightly smiled. "Yeah, I came out here to enjoy the sky." We both looked up and I smiled at how dark it was getting now. "Trying to get my mind off of things."
"It helps." He smiles as he leans on his hands that were behind him. "When you stop and take in everything around you, it seems like your problems melt away."
"You're really different than most fourteen year olds."
He looks at me and smiles. "How many fourteen year olds do you know of?"
"Not many." I shrug.
I watch as he chuckles then looks back up at the sky. "I don't know what it is that makes me unique. I mean, all my other friends are into sports or video games. I'm the only one into photography."
"That's not a bad thing." I watch as he looks at me. "Noticing the little things around us is what makes us unique. Far different than the rest and there's nothing wrong with it."
