⚜️Yeolli had changed, Yeojung could definitely see and point out a few significant difference in her. For example, Yeolli would constantly miss her usual dose of football and it's freaking Yeojung out.
Yeolli would literally cut Yeojung's fingers off if she ever changes the channel while the younger is still enjoying egging on sweaty men fighting over a ball. She would be ecstatic every time a goal was made, spilling soda and chips everywhere.
Second, Yeolli spends way more time on her phone nowdays. She would usually avoid her piece of metal at home and would rather draw or talk with her sister, but now, Yeolli would even not care if Yeojung took her last piece of pizza.
Third, She comes home late, even later than Yeojung sometimes, and Yeolli isn't even in third grade! She should've been able to come home at four, but Yeolli had been out until eight, even nine, these past few days.
Now, the sisters were sitting in the dining area, Yeojung had just came home after buying two servings of tteokboki and soondae for Yeolli. "Be honest with me, do you have a secret lover that I don't know of?" Yeojung asked as she eyes her sister cautiously, delivering a piece of blood sausage into her mouth.
Yeolli lifts her head up from, again, her phone, and wrinkles her face up. "Lover? No." She said in a tone that ridicules her sister, "The. why are you giggling like a teenage girl in love?" Yeojung plops another piece of tteok.
Yeolli's phone dinged and her fingers fiddled with the keyboard, typing in a reply with a big smile. "I just finally made a friend." She said, laughing at whatever her new friend had replied with. "Okay, whatever you say." Feeling ignored, Yeojung continued on eating the food Yeolli haven't even touched yet.
As she ate, her usual loud ringtone, Yeojung doesn't know why but she had set it to blare out ambulance siren every time someone from the hospital calls. "Yes, Yongbok?" She said, the other line murmurs inaudible stuff to Yeolli's ears, but the sense of urgency is clearly there.
Yeojung's expression changed and she immediately stood up, went to her room to get changed and dashed towards the parking lot. Something Yeolli's used to over the past few years, The younger glanced at the closing door, "She didn't even get to ea—" Yeolli looks back at the empty plates, "Fucker, what am I supposed to eat now?"

⚜️"His condition?"
Yeojung sped walked towards the operation halls, with Yongbok on her side. A TA patient had just came in through the ER, he had a pretty bad concussion on his head and there was a pretty serious hemorrhage, and also some bad bleeding in his stomach.
The first back-up doctor was dealing with another surgery, hence Yongbok turning to the second option, his mentoring Chief Resident. "It's going to be a joint surgery with GS, Professor Ji," Yongbok scanned his ID card which let them both in.
"Since the bleeding in his stomach is not as bad as his head, we'll be conducting a surgery first." Yongbok explained again, while walking to the other end of the operation halls to meet the guardians.
As Yeojung and Yongbok exits to explain the procedure to the patient's family, she encountered a face she never expected. "Wooyoung?" "Yeojung?" The both of them said at the same time.
The female doctor was stoned in place, confused and lost. She spaced out for a second, staring at the man, glancing towards the rest of the patient's family. "Dr. Han!" Yongbok nudges her, snapping her out of trance.
The patient's mother had stood in front of her directly, "To explain simply, Patient Jeong Woojin will undergo a procedure called craniotomy," She said calmly, "Thanfully, Jeong Woojin's hemorrhage, or bleeding, is located near his skull, so it should finish quickly."
Mrs. Jeong's hands felt clamy, she feels weak on her knees, worrying over her youngest son. "The surgery on his head will finish in about two to three hours, after that the GS department will take over." Yeojung let her eyes scan the family briefly, "Please don't worry too much." She grabs Mrs. Jeong's shaky hands.
Yeojung smiles at the old lady, "We might not know what can happen in the OR," Yeojung said, "But I can assure you that we will do our best." She pats the old lady's hands and let's it go, turning back to reenter the operating halls. Before Yongbok could even tap his ID card, Wooyoung's voice calls out.
"Please, save our Woojin, Yeojung." the girl called out turns back to see Wooyoung's face, "I trust you." Yeojung nods curtly, "I will do my best."

⚜️The Jeong family is in agony, they had waited restlessly for their son, and brother's condition that was still not updated until then. A few more minutes and it would pass the 'three hours' mark Yeojung had given them.
They knew that their boy's surgery would not be over once Yeojung is done, but what would calm a worrying family more than a good update. Wooyoung glanced nervously at the clock hung on the wall, biting his nails once in a while.
Woojin had taken an offer made by his friends to go to a skate park, to race, of course. The race had continued to the main streets, a bad idea since it's Friday night, and it's bustling with speeding vehicles. The young boy had lost his footing and a coupe hit him, getting him rushed to the ER.
The whole family came rushing to the hospital, Wooyoung even tossed his set of students to Yunho, upon the delivery of the news. It is officially three hours since the surgery started, and no sight of Yeojung was spotted.
Another ten minutes passed, and the sliding doors finally opened, revealing a tired Yeojung with blood splatters on her. The Jeong family automatically swarmed around the girl, no words were spoken but we all know the question they're asking.
Yeojung sighs, and took of the mask covering her mouth. "The surgery went a little bit over from what we had expected," She started talking, "When we opened his skull, the bleeding was more serious than what we had thought, so it took a longer amount of time to drain and find the source of bleeding."
Yongbok studies the guardian's facial expression, realizing that his mentor just did a big blow to them, "The bleeding point was located on a ba—" "Jeong Woojin is fine now though, don't worry too much," Yongbok cuts Yeojung's words.
Yeojung glares to her side, seeing Yongbok smiling at the family, as he met her gaze, he shakes his head. "We had stopped the bleeding successfully, and he was in a stable condition when we finished." Yeojung continues her statement.
"It all depends on the GS surgeons to save his life." Yeojung rubs her tired eyes, dried blood on her hands, "But I can assure you, he's in good hands." Yeojung nods and gave the family one last smile before turning away to go back to the office.
"Yeojung!" Again, Wooyoung called out on her. The female doctor looks back, "Yes?" She stops on her tracks and faced him. Wooyoung walks towards Yeojung and when he arrives right in front of her, he engulfs her into a hug.
"Thank you, for saving my brother."
