Over the next month I grew closer to the twins. I was still very close with my dorm mates-Alicia, Angelina, and Katie, but the twins were my best friends. We bonded over our shared love of pranking and I was able to assist them on a variety of products for Weasley Wizard Wheezes.
My classes are going great. Potions is fairly easy, so Prof. Snape is starting to give me separate, harder potions to brew. He both expects and wants me to fail, but I never do. When I was younger, I would brew the potion based exactly on the recipe and then I would try to brew the same potion with some adjustments. My adjustments usually made it better. I love potions, but I don't like Snape, I think he is rude, unfair, and obnoxious. But he is brilliant at potions and I respected him.
The Transfiguration professor, my head of house Minerva McGonagall, is my favorite teacher in the whole school. I got detention with her one day and, by the end of it, it had turned into us drinking tea and talking about quidditch. Defense against the dark arts is weird. Prof. Moody gives off some weird vibe that I don't like, but I excel in the class none the less. Herbology is just horrible. I hate plants, but Prof. Sprout is much nicer than my last herbology professor. I met a really nice Hufflepuff named Cedric in that class, who is now my partner for most projects. Charms is average. Nothing good, nothing bad. Care of Magical Creatures is fun. The gameskeeper, Hagrid, is teaching it this year. He likes the big, exciting creatures which make it way more interesting than the boring, docile ones. Though I do almost get killed every class, but that's part of the fun. Ilvermorny was known for their Care of Magical Creatures classes. I also spend a lot of time with Madame Pomfrey trying to learn how to be a healer.

Finally the day everyone had been waiting for arrived. It was October 31st, the day the other schools were scheduled to arrive in order to compete in the competition. At dinner, I was explaining Muggle Halloween traditions, since my best friend Rue and my father are muggles I knew a lot about it. I even participated when I was younger. But as I was explaining the various costumes, Mr Filch ran in and whispered in Dumbledore's ear.
"That man was the strangest run I've ever seen. Why do his knees go so high? It's like he's prancing. For someone with so much anger you would think he would be better at that" I whispered into George's ear.
George tried to stifle his laugh. "Not everyone can be as perfect as you, Mags" he whispered back.
I rolled my eyes and slapped him lightly on the arm. At that moment, Dumbledore stood up and announced that the other schools were arriving. I was excited, especially to meet the Beauxbatons. I had studied french a little and was excited to practice.
When the representatives from Beauxbatons walked in, they were wearing a pale blue outfit and walking in two single file lines. They released these beautiful butterflies into the air and walked with elegance and poise. It's safe to say that the Beauxbatons people were absolutely stunning. It's like everyone at that school is a supermodel. The boys definitely agreed, as they were gawking at the part Veela girls.
I was about to tease George mercilessly for this when a certain boy caught my eye. He resembled the actor Micheal B Jordan. I gave him a smile as he passed and looked him up and down, letting him know that I was interested. He winked back at me, and I gave another satisfied smile as I watched him make his way to the front. I might have imagined it, but I think I saw George frown slightly at my interaction.
I didn't dwell on it long before the people from Durmstrang burst through the door and began beating sticks on the ground. They were the exact opposite of Beauxbatons. They wore dark fur-lined coats that contrasted with the light, silky Beauxbatons uniforms. They didn't carry themselves with elegance and poise, but rather strength. They were very intimidating. It made me think of how Hogwarts would enter. Compared to these two schools, Hogwarts was incredibly relaxed and upbeat. We'd probably walk in in one big clump, talking to ourselves. Or fly in on broomsticks.
One thing is for sure. These have got to be the most dramatic entrances in the history of anything. Why do they feel the need to do this? It's more intense than the Olympics, and they have fire. As Durmstrang came marching in, I glanced at the Ravenclaw table and locked eyes with the boy from earlier. He made a motion and mouthed asking if he could come over. I nodded my head yes. I was excited to meet this hot french boy. Oh la la
*Sorry for the kinda weak chapter I just wasn't feeling inspired. I might come back and edit it at a later date*
