Christmas

"Merry Christmas!" I heard Katie scream as she jumped from bed to bed waking us up. I loved her dearly, but she acted like a 5-year-old a lot. "Open your presents!"

We each took turns opening the gifts at the foot of our beds. I received a potions set from my Mom, a picture of Rue and I singing Underneath the Tree for Christmas last year plus a bee necklace from Rue, some chocolate frogs from Jacob (another friend from Ilvermorny), some earrings from Katie, a quidditch book from Angelina, and a Holyhead Harpies t-shirt from Alicia. I had given them each a cute bracelet I had seen in Diagon Alley before term started. The twins and I had agreed to exchange our presents downstairs, so once I thanked all my dorm mates I rushed downstairs to give the twin's theirs. I gave Lee some Bertie's Every Flavor Jellybeans before handing the twin's their presents.

I had wrapped them in obnoxious American flag wrapping paper. Inside were a bunch of American muggle sweets that I thought they would enjoy. But, the real present was inside the bags of candy. In George's, I had the nosebleed nougat and its perfected antidote. In Fred's, I had the fainting one and its antidote. I had made sure they looked like normal candy before suggesting they each try them first. When George's nose started to bleed and Fred passed out, George looked at me with a shocked face. He hugged me tightly before I showed him the antidote, getting myself to get covered in blood before I shoved one in Fred's mouth.

"Merlin, Mags! This is the best gift we've ever received" George said.

"Thank you! Although I think I got a concussion from the floor" Fred rubbed the back of his head from where he hit the ground. Probably should've warned him, but seeing him just collapse was hilarious.

The twins gave me a beautiful rose-gold ring that looked like a crown. I knew I would never take it off. I went to go get changed and find Andre. (picture of ring below)

When I found Andre, we hugged each other and said Merry Christmas

When I found Andre, we hugged each other and said Merry Christmas. I gave him a copy of my favorite album plus a beautiful painting of New York City, where I used to live. I wanted to travel with him there. I gave him the album because it reminded me of the first conversation we had in the courtyard before he asked me out. He gave me this stunning painting of the Promenade des Anglais in Nice that he had drawn. It was beautiful. I invited him over to sit with the twins and their family at breakfast.

After seeing the blanket of snow outside, the twins suggested a snowball fight. Andre declined, so I told him I would meet him for some hot chocolate later after the inevitable freezing of my fingers.

The teams were George, Fred, Ginny, and I versus Harry, Ron, Lee, and Hermione. I had only talked to Ginny a few times but she seemed pretty badass. I brought my camera so I could take a picture of this moment. It came as no surprise to anyone when my team easily pulled the victory. So we decided to redo the teams to make it more even. Fred, Harry, Ron, and I versus Lee, Hermione, George, and Ginny. We decided to make it more interesting and make it capture the flag themed.

As I was sneaking onto the opposite base, I saw a flicker of red hair hiding behind a tree. I began to run full speed towards the scarf George's team was using as a flag. I moved in a zig zag pattern, hoping George didn't have good aim. His snowball barely missed me by an inch, but when I looked back I saw him still chasing after me. I decided to lure him away from the flag, since there was zero chance I would be able to reach it.

I ran all the way down to the Black Lake before George reached me. I might have been faster initially, but both of us were physically fit and his legs were longer so he caught up with me. He picked me up and turned me around and heaved me over his shoulder and I started squirming.

"You're going to need to try harder, Mags. I'm a beater for god's sake; I have to deal with bludgers all the time."

"Oh shut up." After it became apparent that that approach wasn't working, I tried something else.

"LET ME DOWN GEORGE" I yelled, half laughing as I tried to be serious.

"What's the magic word?" he replied. I could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Pleeeeasssseeeeee"

"actually, it's expecto patronum, but since you said it so nicely, I'll let you go"

"That's two-" I couldn't finish my sentence because George had thrown me into a soft pile of snow, a smirk on his face. I didn't waste time in grabbing him and pulling him down next to me. We burst out laughing as George came up, his face covered in snow.

"Your reaction time is a little slow for a beater" I told him, stifling a laugh at the sheer amount of snow on his face.

"I'm a bit cold, do you think we can go inside now?" George asked me.

"Sure, but first" I slammed a handful of snow into his head and started running in the opposite direction. I heard him before I felt his arms wrap around my waist and twirl me around.

"Did you think you were going to get away with that" George asked, putting me down.

"Actually I kind of did" I replied. Before I could add a snarky comment, I caught sight of everyone else staring at us. Fred had my camera and had taken a picture of us. I thought nothing of it since George and I were still friends, but George looked slightly embarrassed. I was excited to put in on my wall. I decided to go meet up with Andre now, since It had been quite a long time since breakfast and I was freezing my butt off.

*George's POV*

I saw her sneaking up behind a tree. I think she saw me as I turned around because she started sprinting towards our fort. I ran after her, but damn she was fast. I tried to throw the snowball but missed. She continued running, and I continued trailing her. Eventually, my long legs took the advantage and I caught up to her.

I hoisted her over my shoulder as she started squirming to get free.

"You're going to need to try harder, Mags. I'm a beater for god's sake; I have to deal with bludgers all the time." I finally let her go, plopping her in a thick thing of sand after she asked me. Before I knew what was happening, she had pulled me into the snow beside her.

"Your reaction time is a little slow for a beater" she said, hiding a laugh. I laughed with her. I loved her smile and the way her eyes lit up.

"I'm a bit cold, do you think we can go inside now?" I asked. My face was frozen from faceplanting into the snow. While I'm sure hot chocolate and heat would help, the only thing I wanted to warm up my face was her lips. I didn't even hear her reply to my question though, because I had been gazing at her lips. That is until she slammed a handful of snow into my side.

I chased after her again, this time quickly catching her and twirling her around. I dropped her immediately as I saw the rest of our group standing there. Fred raised his eyebrow at me and exchanged looks with Lee. Ginny rolled her eyes as she started walking inside. Harry, Ron, and Hermione weren't paying attention. I blushed and started walking inside with the rest of them.
