American Teen [George Weasley Love Story]

The Order

When I woke up, the pain in my shoulder was gone. I didn't remember where I was until I looked over and saw the death eater on the chair next to me. The image of death eaters storming my house flooded my brain as I abruptly shot up.

"I need to go" I said, trying to stand before collapsing back on the couch due to extreme dizziness.

"Oh no dear, I don't think you can handle that right now. Stay right here, I'll go make you some tea and tell the boys you are awake. They've been distraught since you arrived." That must be Mrs. Weasley. She's as nice as I had been told.

"Mags" George said, rushing to give me a hug. 

"Hey George," I laughed

"What the hell happened yesterday? When we found you you were unconsciousness with a death eater by your side." Fred said as he sat down next to me. 

I quickly explained the death eaters coming into our house and my mom telling me to run.

"So I came here. I didn't know of anywhere else to go. But that's why I need to go back, I don't know what happened to my mom and she doesn't know where I went."

The twins exchanged a look; I could tell they were worried about something. Fred left to go ask his mom something while George stayed with me and comforted me. He wrapped his arm around me and tried to soothe any worries I had. He tried distracting me by showing me that they had perfected the extendable ear we had come up with at the beginning of the term last year. Eventually we went into the kitchen for lunch.

"Margaret, I'm afraid I have some bad news. It was just confirmed that the death eaters have your mother. You're going to be staying with us for a while. But we're actually going somewhere else, I'll explain when we get there. Arthur will accompany you back to your apartment where you can pack up your things. I don't know if you'll be returning, so I suggest you take everything you would need for this school year as well as for the summer." How did Mrs. Weasley know they had my mom? But I was starving, so I distracted myself with the delicious food on the table in front of me. Neither my mom or I are great cooks, so this was spectacular.

When I got to my apartment, it was completely destroyed. The boxes that had been so neatly packed had been ripped apart, as if they were searching for something. There were holes everywhere and burn marks along the walls and floor. It did not look good. I quickly hurried to pack up anything I would need. I had to search through all the rubble in my room for a majority of it; silent tears falling down as I looked at the destruction. Eventually I was ready and disapparated to the place I would be staying all summer.

"Welcome to the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix." A man named Sirius Black said. I remember hearing about him around 2 years ago. I thought he was supposed to be a dangerous death eater who murdered a ton of muggles, but everyone seemed to be comfortable around him. I decided to keep my mouth shut until I could ask someone. Until then, I sat as far away from him as possible. 

I surveyed the room. George and Fred were sitting next to me on a couch with Ginny on the end. Ron and Hermione were sharing a chair in the corner. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley stood off to the side. Besides them I didn't recognize anyone else. There was a woman with pink hair in the corner along with a guy with scars all over his face. Mad-eye, who I thought was teaching us last year but it was apparently as imposter, was also there. My uneasy feeling about him did not end once I realized this was the real Mad-eye. He's still creepy. Standing next to Mad-eye was a black guy that I didn't recognize. Dumbledore and my queen Minerva McGonagall were sitting at a table in the back. I waved to Prof. McGonagall and she waved back. Snape was also sitting with them. 

I turned my attention back to Sirius who was explaining what the order is. "The order is an organization that works to fight against Voldemort and his death eaters. Everyone you see here is a member." He introduced all the random people at the table. "This is Tonks, Remus Lupin, Alastor Moody, Kingsley Shacklebolt, you should know Albus Dumbledore and Minvera McGonagall, and of course, I'm Sirius Black" He said. 

"But you all will not be participating in order matters. You are too young." Mrs. Weasley said looking pointedly at all her children, including Hermione and I.

"What about me? I'm 17, so I can legally use magic now."

"Yeah, us too!" The twins piped up next to me. 

"No, absolutely not. It is too dangerous for you. Besides, you are still not out of school." Mrs. Weasley argued back.

"Respectfully Mrs. Weasley, but I think I should be able to make my own decision on this matter. I don't have a mom here to tell me what to do. Apparently she was kidnapped by some death eaters. So I think I have the right to know what's going on, to fight with the order, and get my mom back. I'm 17 now."

Nobody could argue against me. I had only met Mrs. Weasley yesterday. A lot of them I had only met today. Anyone else had only known me for a year at most. I would say the twins and Prof. McGonagall knew the most about me. But it was obvious none of them could make this decision for me. 

"How about we meeting now to discuss who we should let join. No one under 18 allowed" Dumbledore winked at us. I glared at him back. "But before you go, there is one thing. Please do not write to Harry Potter. He cannot know about any of this, at least not yet." Not that I was going to, but now I'm extremely curious as to why no one could write Harry. That sounds like the dumbest thing I've ever heard. 

Sirius showed us to our rooms. I would be staying with Ginny and Hermione in a room right below the twin's. As I was unpacking my stuff, the twins walked in and grabbed me and dragged me out of the room.

"what do you think you are doing?" I asked them.

"Shhhhh. How would you like to know what's going on in that meeting?" Fred asked me. 

"I would love it, but how are we going to sneak in?"

"Oh we aren't sneaking in, love." George held up the extendable ear. I felt my eyes grow wide as a mischievous smile spread across my face. 

"Perfect"

We lowered the ear towards the door to the kitchen. I heard a bunch of shouting voices; It was amazing that we couldn't hear them without the ear.

"She's right-we can't stop her from joining. She's of age and she does have a right to find her mother." I heard someone say.

"But it's so dangerous! She could be killed!" Mrs Weasley replied.

"Molly, she did manage to fight off that one death eater after being splinched" Arthur told his wife. 

"We can send her on the less dangerous missions. She doesn't have to do anything extremely perilous" Another unidentifiable voice said. 

"But what if she tells the twins? Or anyone else? We can't risk her sharing the secrets. Because the twins may be of age, but I will not let them join. I am still their mother and until they leave Hogwarts I am in charge." Mrs Weasley huffed. The twins frowned at this statement.

"Fine, the twins won't be allowed to join. But I'm sure if we asked Margaret she wouldn't tell the twins. She's smarter than that. She wants to find her mother so desperately that I have no idea she'll comply to any rule we set." I nodded. I would tell the twins some things, but I have no doubt that if they asked me to keep a big secret that I could do it. 

"All those in favor of letting Margaret join the order, raise your hand" A silence followed as Dumbledore counted. "Then it's settled. She will join. We will set some rules for her to follow, but she is now a member. Someone should go tell her before we continue."

"Just one more thing before we get her. Do you have any idea why death eaters would break into her apartment? I thought they were mostly laying low and attacking people who betrayed Voldemort in the first wizarding war. But Margaret and her mother were in the US at the time?" 

"I have a theory. I need to do some more research before I share this, however." I gasped. What is his theory? Why isn't he telling me?
