"Well this looks inviting" I say as I walk up to the Hog's Head in Hogsmeade. The twins and I hadmade a quick stop at Zonko's to restock some of our supplies before heading to the pub. It gave off the vibe that you would 100% get murdered here. It wasn't warm inside, there weren't any conversations going on, and there was a thin layer of dust everywhere. I imagined it would be the kind of place the criminals from Tangled would go to if they never had the whole "I have a dream" thing. Due to the lack of patrons, we quickly spotted the other Hogwarts students and made our way over. My dorm mates had already arrived.

"um..Hi everyone" Hermione said. She sounded really nervous. We might not always get along, but when she looked at me I gave her an encouraging smile. That seemed to help a little. "I'm sure you all know why you're here. Harry and I...just I actually had the idea that we should all study Defense against the Dark Arts. Like really study it, not like Umbridge is teaching it. I thought it would be good if we took it upon ourselves to .um.. learn how to defend ourselves properly, not just in theory but by actually doing spells."

"Woo!" I shouted, causing everyone to laugh. But someone from the back had their own opinion.

"You just want to pass your OWLs"

"Of course I do." I looked at whoever made that comment with an are you serious kind of look. Of course she did. I wanted to pass my NEWTs. But we were here for a bigger purpose, that was just a bonus. Luckily, Hermione kept level-headed. "But more than that, I want to be trained in defense because..." She paused for a second to gather her courage "Voldemort is back." I was impressed by her use of Voldemort's name. It's not very common for wizards or witches to use it.

"Where's the proof You-Know-Who is back?" This asshole Hufflepuff asked. I stared in disbelief again. I just love people so so much. Especially when they ask questions like that. I heard George snicker at the expression on my face, no doubt showing how idiotic I think that person is.

"Well, Dumbledore believed..." Hermione started, but was rudely interrupted when the Hufflepuff stated "you mean Dumbledore believed him" he pointed to Harry.

I opened my mouth, but before anything could come out Ron asked the Hufflepuff who he was, giving him a nice solid glare. Good job, Ron.

"Zacharias Smith. And I think we've got the right to know exactly what makes them say You-Know-Whos back" He sat up a little straighter, looking confident.

"I hope you don't go by Zacharias. That's horrific. Please tell me you go by Zach or something." I called him out. I didn't really care about names, but he needed to be knocked down a peg. I'm also not usually this rude, but I have a lot of pent up frustration from Umbridge and the fact that my mother is still at Voldemort's mercy.

Hermione tried to get back on track, but Harry stopped her. "The reason I know Voldemort is back is because I saw him. Dumbledore told the school what happened last year, and if you don't believe him, then you can leave because you won't believe us. If you'd like to hear what it was like watching Voldemort kill Cedric, then you can also leave. I'm not here to talk about that." I was impressed that Harry stood up for himself. The golden trio is really earning their nickname right about now. But the tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife. We were all glaring at Zacharias.

"Is it true that you can produce a full body Patronus, Harry?" A blonde, and I mean blonde as in her hair is practically white, girl asked. I silently thanked her for the distraction.

"yes, I've seen it myself." Hermione responded.

"Well that's mighty impressive Harry" I said. I hadn't been able to until my fifth year after some private coaching with my charms professor. Mine is a black swan. A black swan is associated with pleasant surprises, unexpected discoveries, and challenging the impossible. They also mate for life. I like to think of myself as a black swan-always challenging the impossible and filled with pleasant surprises. But the one thing I like most about them is their association with overcoming problems. They're associated with going from victim to victor and symbolises a time to regain your personal power. Based on all the shit I've been through, I like that this animal is practically my "spirit animal".

"And he killed a Basilisk with that sword in Dumbledore's office." A boy named Neville piped up.

"Third year he fought off a hundred Dementors at once" Ron said.

"Look, It all sounds great when you say it like that, but the truth is most of is was luck. And I had people helping more than half the time. It's not the same when you're really out there then when you are in the classroom. You have less time to think, and your opponent is aiming to kill. You don't have room for mistakes" He tried to continue his rambling but I cut him off.

"Oh, stuff it Harry. We all need help sometimes. You still did all that. I heard about some of what you've done, and I've never been more impressed. And the fact that it's so different out there-that's why we need you. Because you've been there. We're learning nothing with Umbridge. If we want a chance to survive and even defeat Voldemort, we need you. So stop selling yourself short. You're the motherfucking chosen one. Start acting like it."

Everyone looked at me shocked, but I was right. Then George pulled me in for a kiss. I heard some people make sounds of disgust, but I didn't care.

"She's right, Harry. We need you. Because if V-Voldemort is back, we need all the help we can get." There was a silence as we all considered her words. It really was time.

I decided to break the silence-I hate awkward silences-and asked, "how do we make this official?"

"Oh! Of course. Sign your name on this piece of parchment so we know who's interested." Hermione told us.

"What will happen when you lose it?" that Zacharias character was really getting on my nerves.

"If you don't shut up, we're going to stick this metal rod up your nose." Fred said, pulling something out of his Zonko's bag. I have no idea what it is.

"Or anywhere, we're not really picky about where we stick this." George finished his twin's thought. That shut Zacharias up. I smiled at George. It was fun to take down idiots together.

We quickly signed our names on the parchment and began the trek back to Hogwarts. I was excited about the possibility of this new group.
