We arrive at the ministry and all cram into a phone booth that acts as the visitor's entrance. When the machine prints out our names with the words 'rescue mission' under it, I had to stifle a laugh. We really just said fuck it huh. But it was obvious that this was a much more sirius situation so I ignored it.
Harry led us through the ministry until we reached what he called the department of mysteries. This did not seem like a place we should be going, but we did anyways. We entered a circular room with about a million doors. Hermione had the good sense to mark the ones we entered because when we closed each door the room spun around. I thanked god that someone else in this group has at least one functioning brain cell at the moment.
"This one! It's just like my dreams" Harry said. We started making our way through shelves upon shelves of bright orbs, which provided the only light. I recognized them as prophecies. The feeling of dread continued to grow.
"here! He should be right here!"Harry turned into one of the aisles. I followed behind him and saw nothing.
"Harry no one is here."
"but I saw him!" He was going insane.
"Harry, this one has your name on it" Neville commented.
"Harry, do not touch that" I said. I was starting to piece together a theory. Of course, Harry does whatever the hell he wants and picks up the prophecy.
"I'll take that now." I heard a voice say in the shadows. Yup, my theory is definitely coming together now.
"What is it? And where is Sirius!" Harry asked. I rolled my eyes. Someone has to teach this kid to not interact with things he doesn't understand.
"You really should learn to tell the difference between dreams and reality." The voice emerged from the shadows. Lucius Malfoy. Thank god it was dark in here because if Harry could see the look I was giving him I'm sure he would've died on the spot.
I heard a cackling. Bellatrix Lestrange emerged besides Lucius. I had a feeling there were more surrounding us as well. I felt Neville go stiff beside me. Of course-his parents.
Lucius continued his conversation with Harry. "And that is a prophecy. Haven't you always wondered why the Dark Lord tried to kill you all those years ago?"
"I've waited 13 years. I can wait more. NOW!" Harry yelled. With that we all took off. I shattered all the orbs behind us, setting off a chain reaction. At least Harry still has the decency to be sassy. Maybe next time he can follow orders.
Prophecies were smashing left and right. Death eaters were apparating all around us. I shot spell after spell and could see the other doing the same. I was faster than them, but I stayed in the back and kept pushing everyone forward. We eventually reached the hall. There are more death eaters here. One of them stuns Hermione and causes her to fall down. I start battling every death eater I can, screaming for everyone to get out of the way. If there's on thing I learned in the order, it's that we must protect Harry at all costs. Sacrifice ourselves to save him.
I heard Ginny shout in pain. I see a spell hit Ron out of the corner of my eye. Neville screams. I'm still focused on fighting off three death eaters, but I'm happy that I haven't heard Harry scream.
"If you can move, go to the room with all the doors! Get out! Grab someone else. Except you, Harry you need to leave!" I knew he wouldn't unless he saved someone else. Just then I was hit with the knockback jinx. This gave me time to see what happened to my team. Ginny was lying on the ground clutching her ankle. Hermione was regaining conciousness. Neville was holding his nose. Ron was...dancing? I hit a death eater with the body bind curse and started giving instructions.
"Harry, get Hermione. Neville, help guide Ron. I'll grab Ginny." I lifted Ginny over my shoulder. Luckily, I was fit and she was light.
"Ginny, I'm going to run now. It's going to hurt. I need you to fire any spell you can think of at anyone chasing us, got it?"
"Got it." And with that I ran. Her ankle kept hitting me, and I knew she was in pain. But I heard her firing spells and was thankful she's so tough. Eventually I reached the room with the arch from earlier. All of a sudden, the everything went black and I found myself in the grasps of a death eater. Goddamnit.
"You really thought you could get away with that? We outnumber you and are more experienced. Now hand over the prophecy." I saw Lucius walking towards Harry in the center of the room.
"I don't have it anymore it's gone" harry replied. It's true-he no longer had the prophecy in his hand. I looked around and didn't see a glowing orb anywhere either.
Just then the door opened and I saw Sirius, Tonks, Remus, Moody, and Kingsley appear. Finally, some help. I elbowed the death eater holding me and grabbed my wand. I started dueling with one of them. I was so focused on my duel that until Harry screamed, I didn't know what was going on. I looked over my shoulder and saw Sirius disappear into the archway. Remus was holding Harry back from joining Sirius. Poor Remus. I knew how much Sirius meant to him. And he had to hold it together for his other best friend's son. Remus has lost everyone.
I didn't have time to mourn because at that moment I heard Lucius Malfoy yell "Get the girl and go! We have to bring him something!" What did he mean by get the girl? I thought Harry was his number one target. Then I remembered the conversation over the summer with the order. It's me. I am the girl. Just as I made this connection, a spell hit me from behind and I went slamming into the floor.
And what a shock, (not really as I seem to do this once a month) my entire world goes black.
