*George's POV*
Margaret looked amazing. She had on natural make-up except for the bold eyeliner she put on. She was wearing a deep maroon dress that was fitted at the top and flowed out at the bottom. I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
"You've been a busy bee. I haven't seen you all day!" I said. I cringed at my use of busy bee. She either didn't notice or was too tired to care because she didn't even tease me for it.
"It's been exhausting keeping everyone on time. And I was doing half the work of your mom. When we get married, I want you to promise that it won't be this elaborate." Margarets said said.
"When we get married? You want to marry me?" I asked. I didn't realize she felt the same way about me. I had had the ring for a few months now, but was waiting until the right moment.
"Well, not now. We're still too young, but I think one day, yes. I would love to marry you George Weasley." I smiled widely. She thought we were too young, and I know my mom would agree with that statement. But if I asked her to marry me, she'd say yes. Nothing could ruin this day.
"And I would love to marry you future Mrs. Weasley." I kissed her. I wanted to ask her right then and there, but I couldn't take away from my brother's special day. Plus, she just said we were too young.
"Don't call me that-it makes me sound so old." She complained. I just laughed and grabbed her hand.
After the wedding was over, it was time for the reception. Margaret seemed to really enjoy this part and was getting out all her frustration and anxiety from the past few days out. She was dancing like it would be the last time. I joined her. She never seems to care what others think of her. She just lives her life.
We were slow-dancing together when Bill cut in. I was annoyed because I had finally gotten back everything I learned for the Yule Ball. Plus, I liked the feeling of having Margaret so close to me. But, Bill really wanted to talk to her so I went to find Fred.
We were discussing how Margaret said she wanted to marry me when the patronus came. In all the chaos, I lost sight of Margaret. I knew she was strong. And she was really good at fighting. Like really good. I remember how she kicked everyone's asses at the DA meetings. But I was still scared for her. She had been through so much.
I was so overwhelmed by the death eaters that I didn't notice she was gone until things calmed down and we were ushered into our house for questioning. Everyone else had disappeared-including the golden trio.
"We need to know two things-where's Harry Potter and Margaret Hughes." A death eater asked us. I sighed in relief knowing that they didn't have Margaret. But she was still gone, and no one knows where.
The death eater noticed my action and grabbed me by the collar. "Where are they?"
I choked. "I don't know. I didn't see where they went in all the panic."
"Don't lie to me. I know one of you is dating her. And I highly doubt you would just let Harry Potter disappear. Now where are they. I'm not afraid to use any means necessary." He raised his wand at me.
"calm down. We're wasting time. use the veritaserum. There's no way to know if they'll actually break under torture. They could just go quiet like the girl. Except for her screams she never spoke." Another death eater said.
"Well we weren't trying to get information out of her, were we? I'm sure they would crack pretty soon. It's rare for someone to be able to withstand as much pain as she did. Next time, the dark lord will make sure she's never able to escape again."
I hated hearing about what they did to Margaret when Voldemort had her. It sounded horrible. I couldn't hold back my tears.
"Oh look, the little story got to this one. Maybe we should share more. She was shackled to a wall in the meeting area. That way we could all see her whenever we wanted. She had a mandatory three hours of torture a day. But we could do whatever we wanted to her as long as we didn't kill her. The cruciatus curse was the most used, but I'm sure you've seen her scars. Bellatrix liked tracing them on her the most. Sometimes, we would break her bones and then repair them after a few hours so we could break them again. We only fed her twice a day-I'm sure you saw how skinny she was. Before she escaped, she was so coated in blood and tears that you could hardly recognize her. And you can bet, that when we catch her again. It will be so much worse for escaping. Now drink up." He poured the veritaserum in my mouth. I swallowed it-there was no use resisting.
"Now where is Margaret Hughes?"
"I don't know."
"Where is Harry Potter?"
"I don't know."
They interrogated everyone else, but eventually left when they realized we had no information. When they left, I let myself fully feel the weight of everything that had happened. 3 hours ago, I was planning how I was going to propose to Margaret. Now she's who knows where. I couldn't stop crying no matter what. It seems everyone was shaken after learning the extent to what happened to Margaret. We knew it was horrible. And she shared a lot with me. But not all of it. I had to take a sleeping draught to go to sleep, but even that had to be forced down my throat as everyone held me down. I'm the worst boyfriend on the planet. I can't even protect her anymore.
