*Pt 4 takes place over Deathly Hallows*
"Tonks, this is so exciting! Are you excited? I'm excited." I was a ball of energy this morning. Why? Because Remus and Tonks were getting married! Only a few people were invited to the ceremony-Tonks' parents and George and I. George wasn't originally, but Remus didn't have anyone to be his best man, and since I was already Tonks' maid of honor, he thought George would be the easiest.
I felt bad for Remus. Both James and Sirius died way too young at the hands of Voldemort and his followers. And that git Peter Pettigrew...well we don't speak of him. I think he wanted Harry here instead of George, but Harry was on house arrest.
"Calm down, Margaret. It's a small wedding it's not a big deal." Tonks said, rolling her eyes. It was only two weeks after the battle at the astronomy tower. Tonks ended up at St. Mungo's because of it. I pulled some strings and got to be her head healer, which I think made the visit a lot more bearable for her. Plus, I got to witness the proposal!
This wedding got planned in a week. And it's very small. But it'll still be great. Tonks' mom is in charge of pictures. There's even going to be a 'reception'. Basically, we're going to their house, popping some champagne, drinking it, watching one dance (and I had to fight hard for this privilege) and then the guests are leaving. Nothing about it was very flashy. But Tonks and Remus are never ones for showy. Tonks' gown was a simple white dress, but she looked absolutely stunning in it.
"Tonks, It's time. I just wanted to say how much I love you. Now go out there and get your man, girl!"
I stood next to Tonks on the makeshift altar. George was standing opposite next to Remus. I locked eyes with him and shared a smile. I wonder if this will ever be us. I could myself marrying him. We're too young right now. We're only 19 and have only been dating for two years. But the future is getting closer every day.
"Do you, Remus Lupin, take Nymphadora Tonks to be your lawfully wedded wife?" I saw Tonks cringe at the sound of her full name.
"I do"
"And do you, Nymphadora Tonks, take Remus Lupin to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do"
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Everyone (the four people in attendance) clapped loudly for the couple. I was so happy for my best friend. She deserved this.
"Time for speeches. Yes, I know that was not part of the deal, but this might be the only chance I get so I am going to do this." I said in response to the glares I got from Tonks and Remus.
"Nymphadora, I met you two years ago, hysterically sobbing over the loss of my mother. You managed to make me laugh that day, and every day since. You've quickly become one of my closest friends. I mean, even our hair is the same color. Speaking of which, I think mine needs to be dyed again so once your done with your honeymoon and want to destroy my flat, please come over. And Remus, I once offered to slap some sense into you when you continued to reject the lovely lady standing in front of you. And that offer still stands, Tonks, if you need it. If you hurt her, I will end you. But I know you never will. So here's to Remus + Tonks." I told them I'd keep it short.
Soon after, George and I apparated to our flat to give the newlyweds some space. I had gotten a picture of Tonks in her wedding dress and me in my maid of honor outfit. I added it to my wall of pictures.
"That was beautiful. I'm so happy for them." I said, still in a happiness bubble from all the excitement.
"It was a pretty perfect night." George said.
"Pretty perfect? I did not spend two hours planning this for it to be called pretty perfect. What went wrong?"
"Nothing went wrong. It was more like...something is missing." He started to move closer to me, a certain look in his eyes.
"Is missing?" I said, moving closer to him. His arms wrapped gently around my waist as he pulled me closer so that every part of our bodies were touching except for our lips.
"I think we should have a little honeymoon of our own. Make this night...perfect."
"I can't argue with that." He swept me up and brought me to our bedroom. I placed the obligatory sock on the doorknob.
