Kingsman One Shot

You'd never lived a life of luxury, nor had you ever wanted to, but there was a part of you that wished things could've been easier for your family.

You had grown up on an estate where people were always coming and going, something was always happening and more often than not it was dodgy dealings.

The only good thing about your estate was Eggsy.

He'd been a friend to you over the years and eventually you had caught feelings for him, but he'd disappeared to a job before you'd even had the chance to tell him.

You knew where he worked of course however a part of your brain was telling you to hold off from going to see him.

Eventually, about six months after Eggsy leaving, your Mum had finally found a new place to live with you and your siblings you decided that things were okay enough at home that you could go and attempt to find Eggsy.

You took a black cab down to the tailors that you'd been told he worked at and you walked in with Eggsy's pendant around your neck – his going away present to you that was left on your doorstep.

"Hello?" you called out as you opened the door.

A man walked out from one of the rooms and smiled at you. "Can I help you?"

You smiled back shyly. "I'm looking for my friend, I was told that he worked here."

The man nodded at you, clearly waiting for you to continue.

"His name is Eggsy Unwin, he just left a few months ago and I wanted to see if he was here?"

You noticed the man's eyes flit down to the pendant around your neck and what seemed to be recognition crossed his face as he nodded.

He made a move to grab his things and a set of keys from underneath the counter.

"My name is Harry Hart, Eggsy is currently living at my house so I'd be happy to take you there."

Your face lit up as you realised that Eggsy was still around. "Thank you, Mr Hart."

Harry smiled at you before escorting you out of Kingsman and into the same black cab that you had gotten out of a few minutes prior.

"So how do you know Eggsy?" Harry asked as he directed the driver to take him home.

You fiddled with your pendant as had become your habit. "We lived on the same estate, he's a couple years older than me but we always got on well enough," you explained. "He helped me out a lot with my younger siblings and we were close but then he left a few months ago."

"Ah yes, I apologise to you as his leaving is my fault," Harry stated. "I knew his father you see, and I had promised his father to help Eggsy find a job when it was suitable."

You nodded in understanding and then silence fell in the cab as it continued its journey to Harry's house.

It eventually pulled into an alleyway like street and went straight to the end. "This is my house, if you knock on the door Eggsy will answer – I am sorry I cannot let you in myself, I have other matters to attend to."

Harry motioned for you to exit the cab as you thanked him, and you stood outside the front door for a fair few moments after the cab had left.

After a couple more moments of mustering up the courage you knocked on the front door and waited.

The front door swung open and before you was standing Eggsy, a slightly healthier and happier looking Eggsy but still your Eggsy, nonetheless.

"Y/N?!"

You smiled somewhat sheepishly at him. "Hi," you greeted.

He laughed out of surprise but surged forward to wrap you in a tight hug and as he hugged you you couldn't help but notice how he still smelt the same – the smell of his cologne had always been a comfort to you.

"I went to your work and Mr Hart brought me here, told me you lived here."

Eggsy chuckled before inviting you inside. "Oh yeah Harry's great, this is his house but he's living somewhere else right now, so I have full reign of the place."

"Far cry from our estate, right?" you jokingly asked as you looked around the inside of the house with wonder.

Eggsy chuckled again but brought you into the kitchen and motioned for you to sit down. "Why did you come to find me Y/N?"

You shrugged. "Mum got into a better house with the kids and I figured she was okay enough for me to come and find you," you told him honestly. "You know my best friend disappearing without a word six months ago, leaving me a necklace at the doorstop with a business card wasn't exactly the nicest thing ever."

Eggsy sighed, running a hand through his hair as he leant against the counter opposite you but there was a smile on his face when he noticed the pendant. "It suits you," he stated but he then sighed again. "I couldn't face actually saying goodbye to you, if I had to tell you goodbye I would never have left."

"So, I was holding you back?" you questioned feeling slightly hurt at his words.

Panic crossed his face as he shook his head and he reached out for you. "No! Not at all Y/N," he rushed out. "But I struggled so much leaving you there, leaving you on your own but there's a reason I gave you my pendant and the card."

You raised your eyebrows, waiting for his explanation.

"My Dad was a part of Kingsman, that was his pendant and I knew if I gave you it as well as where to go with it you could get help if you needed it," he explained as you let him pull you into his arms. "It was the only reassurance I had that I could protect you even if I left."

"And now? Why didn't you tell me if you reappeared? Why wait for me to come and find you?"

He sighed again, stroking his hand up and down your back whilst cradling the back of your head with the other. "I was afraid you wouldn't want to see me."

You scoffed and shoved at his arm. "You idiot."

"So, I should have come rushing to your door?"

"Yes!" you pulled away from his chest to look up at him. "At least that way I'd know you felt the same," you mumbled but you felt his hands tighten on your waist.

"Felt the same?" he questioned but when you elected not to answer he seemed to put two and two together. "Of course, I do love, why else would I trust you with my Dad's pendant?"
