When you had met Freddie in secondary school, you never realised that by the time you joined the same college you would start dating and move in together as soon as you had finished your a-levels. Things had moved quickly but you were childhood sweethearts and things seemed to go perfectly for the two of you. You might not have had a lot of money or the best home, you were just happy to be together and make your lives work together.

Freddie was at work later than you, so you started dinner for when he returned home. The pots were still on the oven cooking when he came home.

"What's for dinner?" He called from the hallway, taking off his shoes and jacket.

"Spaghetti Bolognese," you replied. "I know it's not the best dinner, but we need to go food shopping on Saturday."

You weren't the best cook in the world but since living together and taking the role of cooking dinner most days, you had become better at it and actually made something that was edible most nights. You continued to work at the oven until Freddie entered the kitchen and came up behind you. He wrapped his arms around you, resting his chin on your shoulder from behind. Freddie's lips pressed to your cheek, bringing a smile onto your face.

Even the smallest moments together were perfect.

"Want to hang out and annoy each other for the next fifty years?" Freddie asked as he pulled away from the hug.

You were confused for a moment, not having any idea what he was talking about. You turned your attention away from the dinner that was cooking and spun around to look at your boyfriend. He was no longer just stood behind you and was a few steps away and knelt on the ground, holding out a small box to you with a ring inside of it.

"Are you proposing?" You grinned.

Freddie rolled his eyes at you and nodded his head.

You reached out your hands to cup your boyfriend's cheeks and leaned in to kiss him. It was a sweet and loving kiss that was quickly mixed with your tears of happiness.

"So, is that a yes?" He asked.

You shot him a look as he put the ring onto your finger.

"Of course," you smiled. "Of course, I want to marry you, you idiot."

Freddie chuckled and stood up so that he could kiss you once again.
