World of Warcraft One Shot
"I don't care!" Anduin crashed the weighty pommel of his legendary blade Shalamayne against the infernal being's skull, cracking it in two and sending the blazing abyss crumbling to the floor until it would not be distinguishable from a pile of ashy rubble. "As soon as you began begging to join me in this war I said that I wasn't leaving you behind, I know that you would drag me out of here by my hair if need be and I plan to do the same." He raised a hand, bolstered by hole fire as a staunch demon launched a dense ball of hellfire, the heat became slowly more fierce but Anduin managed to keep it far away from you and the rest of the allied forces that he had sworn to protect.
"I'm a lost cause." You rested a weak hand against the Naga's trident which had managed to catch you by surprise, in what some would call a fortunate turn of events only the left most fork had managed to catch you, burrowing into what you suspected was a patch of flesh just above your kidney. The initial strike wouldn't be enough to take you down, but your armour was already drenched in a viscous, gloopy puddle of your blood and there was not enough time between demon attacks for Anduin to save you. "It's either you save me, or you get the troops over to the portal and get it shut down. It's me or them... all of them. You don't want to be the High King known for throwing away a whole army of lives just for one lowly screw-up, do you?" Anduin set his father's blade gently beside you and wiped away whatever dirt and dried blood he could from your face.
"A screw-up? You're one of the finest soldiers the Alliance has ever seen." Anduin cupped your cheek with a subtly trembling hand and spoke through tears that he tried to hide. "I still remember our first-time fighting side by side." It was as if in your last moments the battle seemed to seize for your sake only. A final moment of peace with your friend was all that you could ask for really, you were able to die with honour and a good name.
"Me too." You dropped your hand from the trident's shaft and let it fall onto his arm. "Don't get any blood on your armour... what would your father think of you."
"Don't worry about something as silly as that- now come on. I said I wasn't leaving you behind and I mean it. Stop acting like you're going to die, you're so dramatic."
