American Horror Story: Murder House One Shot

When you saw such a beautiful house at such a low price, you assumed that there was going to be a catch, but you never imagined it was haunted. Up to that point you hadn't even believed in ghosts but now that you had seen them and interacted with them, it was hard to not believe in them. Most of them were nice enough although they hadn't learnt boundaries, coming and going as they pleased and enjoying how jumpy you got due to them appearing and disappearing. There were a few that were displeased with you living in their home, but the others generally kept them in check and told you of the few that you hadn't even met yet.

It wasn't unusual that you would randomly find someone in your house but seen as they were tied to the building due to their death on the property, you rarely questioned it or interacted with them unless they spoke to you first. As you walked through your hallway, you heard crying coming from the dining room. It startled you at first until you noticed a woman sat at the table, holding a handkerchief and dabbing away her tears. She was a beautiful blonde woman in a pale dress that looked like it was from the 1920's.

"Are you okay?" You asked her, making your way over to the table.

"Oh... my..." she whispered looking up at you. "My apologies."

"There's no reason to apologise," you smiled softly. "What's wrong?"

She paused, continuing to dab at her tears. "May I be honest with you?"

"As long as you tell me your name first."

You sat down opposite her, offering her a gentle smile, not having any idea about what caused her to be upset but seen as she was a ghost in your home, you couldn't imagine too much was going well for her.

"I am Nora Montgomery, first owner of this house," she stated. "My husband had it built for me... the only good thing that he happened to do for our family."

"Is that why you're crying?" You questioned.

She shook her head. "My husband certainly helped the tragedy of my life. I fear that such a tragedy has followed me into death. I do not see how I could be hopeful when I am dead."

"I may not know too much about death but from everyone I have met here, there seems to be hope. You just need to think positively and think about what you want, I guess you could say this is your second chance."

Nora smiled weakly. "Do you believe there is hope for me?"

"There is always hope."
