Bones One Shot
You'd always seen online these clichés of two people living together and magically falling in love. A part of you just couldn't really believe it.
Of course, living so closely with someone meant you'd end up with a close relationship but that didn't necessarily mean you had to actually date them.
Well that's what you had always thought until you and Lance had ended up moving in together.
Originally it had been as friends – he'd just started assisting with the Jeffersonian cases but also needed to find a new place to live, and your roommate had just moved in with her boyfriend, so you had a spare room.
You'd known Angela for a long time, and she was the one that suggested you and Lance moving in together.
From the get-go the two of you had been friends, similar interests and even though he had his quirks you did too so the two of you got on great – it always seemed far too perfect.
A year later the two of you were still living together but the dynamic between the two of you had changed somewhat.
Of course you both knew each other basically inside out but there was little things that Lance did that just didn't feel like just a friend – he'd always make sure your bath bombs were fully stocked as he knew how much you loved a bath after a long day, he knew how you'd always have a cup of tea in the morning before a coffee so there was always one waiting for you.
He'd always take notice of the tiny little things, you lived in fluffy socks so every time he saw a pair that reminded him of you in a store he'd come home with them, around that time of the month he'd always have a hot water bottle on hand for you without you even needing to ask for it.
Lance was just a complete and utter sweetheart and whilst you couldn't pinpoint when it had happened, you knew you were done for.
As was tradition on a Wednesday night, you and Lance were curled up on the sofa watching a film with popcorn in front of you and the lights turned off.
The last thing you remembered was your head on Lance's shoulder with a blanket over the two of you.
Lance realised when you fell asleep on his shoulder and he couldn't help but smile at the peaceful expression on your face.
Living with you had been one of the best decisions he'd ever made, and sometimes he still couldn't quite believe it.
Over the past few months he'd tried to do things for you that would show you that he had feelings for you but even as a psychologist he didn't know how to read your response.
He'd hoped that you felt the same but didn't really know for sure.
As he leant his head back onto the sofa, he smiled to himself when you stretched your arm across his stomach and then he was fast asleep.
When sunlight started streaming through the blinds of your apartment you began to stir against Lance's shoulder, and you felt his hand clench on your upper arm.
Moving so that you were facing him you realised that he was beginning to wake up too.
He smiled down at you. "I really like you you know," he breathed out as he stirred but then began to fall asleep again. "I just don't know how I can tell you."
To say you were surprised at the admission was an understatement, you never even imagined that Lance would feel the same as you did nor that he'd ever admit it.
After a few moments of getting your head around what Lance had just told you, albeit sleepily, he started to stir properly.
"Hey, you," you greeted as he looked down at you. "I want to tell you a secret."
Lance raised an eyebrow at you but stayed silent so you would continue.
"I really like you too Sweets."
