The Big Bang Theory One Shot

You'd never really worried before about what your family would think of your relationships.

You always worried what your mother would think, as judgemental as she was, and your two other older siblings could be supportive when they wanted but there was a reason Leonard was your favourite older brother.

He had always been there for you, whenever your Mum was too harsh, or you felt like you didn't fit in with the rest of the family he'd be right by your side.

And because of that you always wanted him to be happy with you, you never wanted to upset him or disappoint him – you cared about his opinion more than you did your own mother's.

Since moving into the same apartment building as Leonard you had gotten to know all of his friends very well, most of all Raj.

Over the past you few months you had been hanging out with just Raj even more and if you were being honest with yourself, you were really starting to like him.

That evening you had invited Raj over to yours for dinner and a movie, but you hadn't mentioned it to Leonard or Sheldon.

"Raj?" Leonard questioned as he left the apartment to see Raj about to walk up the next flight of stairs.

Raj smiled at your brother, and his friend, somewhat awkwardly.

"What're you doing here?" your brother asked, crossing his arms.

Raj sighed, not knowing how to really describe what he had with you as of yet, so he attempted to go for a safe bet.

"Y/N had a new book to show me about some constellations," he explained. "You know how she likes to talk about the stars."

Whilst Leonard looked confused, he seemed to buy it and just nodded at Raj before heading downstairs.

Raj sighed a breath of relief before climbing up the next flight of stairs to get to your apartment.

"It's open!" you called when you heard a knock, knowing you were only expecting Raj and if it was your brother, he'd just walk in.

"Well, that was close," Raj commented as he came to stand by you as you cooked.

You turned and smiled at him, welcoming the kiss he pressed to your cheek. "Close in terms of?"

He chuckled, going to your fridge for a beer. "Leonard caught me walking up here as he left his apartment."

Groaning internally, you looked at Raj for him to continue.

"He asked me what I was doing so I told him you wanted to show me a new book on constellations," he told you and you smiled as Raj was right about how much you loved astrology. "I think he bought it but I'm not saying he's not suspicious."

You watched as Raj leant against your counter and you walked into his arms, resting your head against his chest.

Raj wrapped his free arm around your back. "Do you think we need to tell people?" he questioned after a few moments of silence.

"To tell them we'd need to know what we are," you stated as you looked up at him.

He chuckled, moving his hand to rest on your cheek. "I know what I'd like us to be."

You smiled, nuzzling into his palm.

"How about a girlfriend?" he suggested, still smiling down at you.

A blush rose to your cheeks, but you couldn't stop smiling. "I'd love to," you agreed causing Raj to lean down and kiss you. "Only if you let me keep talking to you about constellations!" you joked when he pulled away.

He chuckled but nodded. "I'll always listen to you."
