I remained leant against Max's side; my head leant against his shoulder as I smiled down at Ayla who lay content in her daddy's arms. I ran the back of my finger against her cheek, the smile on my face widening as she pouted.

"I still feel like this is all a dream" Max pressed a kiss to the top of my head. "I feel like I'm going to wake up and we're going to be back in the hospital, she's going to be lying in that incubator all alone" I sniffled, lifting my hand to wipe away the tears that started to roll down my cheeks.

"This isn't a dream, Baby. Our gorgeous peanut's home."

"She is gorgeous, isn't she? I think she's the most gorgeous baby ever" Max lightly chuckled as he pressed another kiss to the top of my head. Ayla stirred awake as I leant down to press a kiss to the top of her head, my fingers stroking through her hair. "Shall we give you a bath before bedtime, Baby Girl? Your first official bath at home" Max playfully gasped as he adjusted Ayla in his arms so she was lying against him with her head in his hands. She stared up at him, her gorgeous blue eyes staring at her daddy. She has the most gorgeous dark blue eyes and I know there's a chance they'll turn brown as she gets older but I'd love for them to stay blue.

"I think that sounds like a brilliant idea" I took a hold of Ayla's hand and smiled widely as she glanced to me.

"Hi, Peanut."

"Do you want to go to mommy so daddy can start your bath?" I happily took Ayla from Max, a wide smile spreading across my face as I cradled her against my chest and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"Her little bath's in her closest, give it a rinse out before you fill it" I spoke to Max as I stared down at Ayla, playing gently with her little fingers. "I'm never going to stop loving you, Miss Ayla Mackenzie Ehrich."

"Ditto" I finally pulled my eyes from Ayla and smiled over at Max who pushed himself out of bed. "I'll call you when I've filled it" I nodded, the smile on my face only widening as Max leant to brush his lips with mine.

"I love you."

"I love you too, Gorgeous" I focused my attention back down on Ayla as Max disappeared from the room.

"What do you think, Peanut?" Ayla looked so uninterested as Max ran the cloth gently along her body.

"She doesn't look impressed, Babe" Max lightly chuckled which caused Ayla to glance up at him, her little legs kicking enthusiastically. "I think we have a swimmer" Max chuckled as I beamed. "Kick those little legs, Baby" I quickly videoed the precious moment and took a couple photos which I decided to send to my family group chat.

Me: Look who's just had her first bath at home😍

"When we going to announce her name?"

"Whenever you feel comfortable doing so, Baby" I ran the back of my finger along Ayla's cheek.

"I still can't believe she's ours."

"Well believe it, Baby, because she is" the smile on my face widened. "Let's get you out, Peanut, before you turn into a little prune" Max leant to press a kiss to Ayla's forehead and gently lifted her from the tub. I grabbed the towel and handed it to Max, helping him to wrap it around her tiny body. "There we go, Gorgeous. Shall we go and sit down so you can get some cuddles off mommy?" I gave him a thankful smile as I hobbled from the bathroom on my crutches. Max followed behind me and into the master bedroom. I took a seat on the bed and gladly took Ayla from Max, lowering her down onto the bed in front of me. "You want the lotion?" I nodded over at Max with a smile.

"Shall we have a massage, Baby?" I gently began to dry her with the towel, leaning down to press a kiss to her nose. My heart burst as I pulled away from her to see her that her mouth had very slightly tugged at the corners. "Oh my god, Peanut. You're going to be smiling before we know it" I glanced back up at Max as he stepped back into the room with the lotion, a fresh diaper and a sleep suit.

"Here you go, Babe" I smiled up at him as I took the lotion and placed a small amount onto my hand. I began to rub it into Ayla's skin, smiling as her eyes very slowly closed.

"You like this, Baby Girl?"

"She looks pretty content."

"We're going to make her happy, right?" I glanced to Max who nodded the moment his eyes met mine.

"She's going to be the happiest little girl" he stroked a strand of hair behind my ear and leant to press a kiss to my temple causing my smile to widen. "She's never going to want for anything, but she isn't going to be spoilt."

"Oh, she's going to be spoilt" I lightly chuckled. "But we're going to make sure she's thankful for everything and knows that some people aren't as lucky."

"She's lucky to have you as her momma."

"And she's the luckiest little peanut to have you as her daddy" he leant to brush his lips with mine. "Let's get her dressed before she gets cold."
