Chapter 5
Ellapov
It's been a weird day. Had a bunch of kids in today talking about a show about walkers whatever they are and how excited they were about being in the area where they film it. It must be a show. I closed early because I had the cake to do. I put my iPod on and started rolling out the green and chocolate fondant for the grass and dirt and moving in time with the music.
The cake was coming together nicely with blocks and holes and Little animals. Then I heard a knock. I got a little scared as it was after nine. I went to the front door and found it was Norman. I shouldn't open it but I didn't feel scared around him.
"Hi."
"Hi, Ella. I saw your light was on it's never normally on. So I thought you might still be here and might be hungry."
"You notice when I'm in?"
"It's unusual most of the stores are closed except the restaurants."
"Okay, that's not creepy at all."
"I'm a nice guy."
"That's what all the 'nice' guys say."
"You can ask Lauren she'd tell you I'm nice."
"I bet she'd say that."
"I got food. I thought you might be hungry. Are you hungry?"
"As a matter of fact yeah I am. Do you want to come in?"
"Yeah might be comfier than standing in your doorway."
"True that. Also, I got work to do." I opened the door fully.
NRPOV
Previously...
It was a long night shooting and Mingus was staying with Chandler and his family, so I was going to be home alone tonight. I was driving through Senoia when I noticed Ella's shop lights were still on so she must be working back. I had a crazy idea of getting her some food, yeah she works in a cake shop surrounded by food I know. I grab a burger and a hot dog from the local diner and drive back over to her place.
I went to her door I could see straight into her kitchen she was bopping away to whatever song was playing, she looked carefree and younger than she normally looks. I can see she's wearing short shorts and a tank top. And her hair is in a messy bun. I knocked on the door she stopped what she was doing and by the look on her face, she looked scared.
Present time...
I followed her to her kitchen or whatever you call it where she cooks.
"So Norman are you stalking me?"
"I swear I'm not."
"I'm sorry I'm not a real people person you know I like my solitude."
"So you got a fortress and everything?"
"A fortress?"
"You know like Superman. Also if you're not a people person why are you in the food industry?"
"Yeah I know him but I'm a girl so I'm not all that clued up him you know. I like to cook."
"Yeah, that's cool. So what do you watch? What are your favorite shows?"
"Oh, I haven't watched television in about ten years. So I honestly have no idea what's even on now."
"Seriously you haven't watched tv for ten years?"
"My ex-husband didn't believe in television. Thought they were evil. I just went along with it. It was easier, now I'm just used to it."
"Wow, that's very cool."
