What the hell where am I and why do I hurt like a son of a bitch? I open my eyes I'm in hospital what the fuck? My stomach hurts so bad. I can see Norman he's head is down I think he's crying oh fuck I must be really bad.

"Babe?"

"Oh, you're awake. Oh, god babe. I was so scared you weren't going to wake up."

"What happened?" I know I've said it before but I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck.

"You don't remember? No of course you wouldn't you've been out of it since you gave evidence. Babe, you collapsed in court and when you came to the hospital they did some blood work on you, babe they found this thing called CA125"

"CA125?"

"Yeah, they found cancer cells in you, babe."

"Oh god."

"They found out that you have ovarian cancer babe. That's why you were in pain babe. They operated on you and removed your ovaries, tubes, and a few other things. Your oncologist will be here soon babe. They'll explain everything that they'll do to help. Melissa says you'll probably need chemotherapy your going to lose this beautiful hair. Oh baby I'm so sorry baby." He sat on my bed.

"I have to have chemotherapy?" She starts crying.

"Maybe that's what Mel said because she had it as well and that's what they did for her."

"I didn't think our life could get any worse. I was so wrong. You need to go Norman I'm nothing but trouble for you and the babies. If you stay with me it's only going to get worse. I can't do this to you or them, none of you need to see me like that. I'm nothing but a bad person. I don't want you seeing me sick."

"Baby no you aren't. I haven't left you yet I'm never leaving you, babe. You aren't troubled babe or terrible every time something happens babe you always try to let me go but haven't you realized you and I belong together? You're the only woman I'll ever want. I'm never leaving you, babe, please don't ask me to leave. I'm not taking the babies away from you they need you there, they need their mom. They love their mom. I love their mom. Please don't ask me to leave I can't do it. I won't do it."

"You mean that Norman. I'm sorry babe I'm so scared babe. I'm scared that this is going to be too much, so what do I do? I push you away I don't want to hurt you, babe."

"I'm a tough babe. I'm not going anywhere."

"I love you Norman. I don't deserve you but I love you."

"Well I deserve you babe and I love you too."

"Well, it's nice to see you awake. How are you, Ms. Reedus?"

"Okay, I guess. Sore."

"We can up your pain meds."

"How long do I need to be in here."

"A few days then we'll see how you're doing with the chemotherapy and the stitches. We'll be starting chemotherapy tomorrow your body's in shock at the moment.

"Will I lose my hair?"

"Yeah you will but it'll grow back. We appear to have gotten all the cancerous cells, so that's good. But we still need to do the chemotherapy."

"Okay, I'm ready doctor."

"Good to hear. We'll start tomorrow."

"Okay. Babe, you need to go home babe you look exhausted."

"Okay I will, will you be okay?"

"Yeah. I'll be fine. I have the best husband ever. But he needs to look after himself as well."

"Well, all I can say is I'm glad I was having time off from the show. What the fuck am I going to do about that? I can't work while you're sick."

"Yes you can they'll work around it I don't need you around me all the time. You'd hate it if you left the show. I'd miss my favorite character."

"You're amazing, Ella. We'll work this out. I'll see you tomorrow okay sleep well."

"You to babe. Drive safe I want to see the kids. We'll get through this we just need faith Norman I know, we can get through it."

'Sleep well my love. I'll see you in the morning." He leans in and kisses me I love his sweet kisses. I watch him walk away.

NORPOV

I walked to my car I was about to start it when I started crying, I hate that she keeps trying to leave me, she's thinking it's better that we're apart than together, but I know we aren't I need her, I need her like I need to breathe. She's the other half of me, I'm never leaving her. I finally get myself together enough to drive home. When I open the door mom hugged me to death.

"Oh god, Norman you look like hell."

"I feel it, mom."

"How's Ella?"

"She's okay. She's okay. She's been telling me to leave her again, but I changed her mind, she thinks she's hurting me."

"Oh, the poor thing."

"She's amazing mom."

"Yeah she's babe, always thought that and I know how much you love her."

"Yeah, mom I'm going to bed. It's been a long day."

"The case is over right?"

"Yeah, Ella's portion of it. There's something you need to know mom."

"What's it, babe?"

"In case it comes out people might say Ella was having an affair with Flanery but she wasn't mom."

"Oh I know about you four babe I heard you in your room."

"You heard?"

"Yeah I was putting James in bed and I heard you guys through the wall. You don't know the word discretion. But you're my son I expect no less."

"So you're okay with that?"

"Well if you playing, play safe."

"We won't be for a long time, if ever mom, you remember me as a kid I hated sharing hasn't changed mom."

"That's not entirely true babe, you used to share your toys with our neighbor's kids remember they had less than us and that's saying something."

"You think she's going to be okay? I'm scared of what might happen if she isn't I don't want to lose her. I'd give everything up to save her." I go to make myself a drink.

"I know you would babe. You know I know what you need you should go hold one of the babies, it'll make you feel better, better than getting drunk."

"Yeah you're right mom. You always are."

I walked off and found myself in Stella room. She's standing on her bed.

"Daddy daddy. Up." I pick her up.

"Yeah baby girl daddy's here."

"Mommy."

"No mommy tonight. You'll see her tomorrow." I sat with Stella in the armchair and mom was right it was what I needed. Everything's going to be okay I just know it Ella's a fighter.
