Trigger Warning: food mention.
"Heyyyyyyyy girlie!" Remy waved as Patton's entrance literally rang through the store. Today the duo had decided to hang out and they chose a coffee shop. The shop was called Coffee Coffee, the very same coffee shop Patton had met Logan in.
"Hi Remy!" Patton replied, sort of skipping over to Remy and giving him a hug before they sat back down. Honestly it would remind me of two moms meeting each other at a shop after a day of looking after their children. Except children would refer to his boyfriend and daughter whereas to Remy it was just his two Huskies: Bunny and Greg. Strange names.
"How have you been Rems," Patton asked as he took a chair and tucked himself in. Clearly Remy came early as he already had a coffee in hand and was currently slurrping it.
Remy put his cup down as he smirked slyly, "I'm doing pretty good, what about you?"
"I'm doing good, Logan moved in a while ago and the kettle broke," Patton told him, "But what about you? You quit your job, what are you doing now?"
Remy went red, "This is embarrassing, I descided to go back to uni to continue doing psychology even though it was my minor not my major," He muttered pushing his glasses back up his face to cover his piercing violet eyes. It kind of reminded him of buttons.
"Awww no need to feel embarrassed, I'm glad you're going back to doing what you like," Patton spoke to him like he was 40 years older than Remy even though he was only 2 years older than him, "I remeber when I was studying teaching," he shook his head. Those were...memorable years if you used nice words.
Remy rolled his eyes, well at least Patton thought he did, you can't actually see though his sunglasses to Patton. "Well you can go order, and get me another coffee, I'm almost finished with mine,"
Smiling, Patton went to order a strawberry cake and a hot chocolate with: cream, marshmellows and sprinkles. They might as well have added a small strawberrt on top, oh wait, they did. He put some money in the tip jar and went to go back to the table with the two drinks in hand.
"Here you go," Patton said placing the coffee on the table, "You're getting it next," he chuckled, knowing very well how ridiculous his hot chocolate was to any rational person in a 5 mile radius.
Patton took a sip of his drink, completely being able to taste everything, "Mmmmmm, delicious," He hummed happily, "Anyways, tomorrow I have to go see my parents,"
"I thought you liked your parents?" Remy stated as he drank the rest of his first coffee and taking a sip of his second one, "Wait here for a second," he told Patton as he took the empty cup to the rack of plastic bowl of dirty cups that they wash every hour.
"Okay now answer my question," Remy told Patton as he flung himself back onto his seat.
Patton chuckled as he munched on a marshmellow he plucked off of the cream. The strawberry had also mysteriously disappeared, "It's not that I hate them I just think I made it awkward between us all,"
Remy raised his eyebrow as he peered at Patton curiously, "How'd you think you did that anyway?" He took another sip of his coffee, completely numb to the scalding temperature.
"I came out to them a while ago, we've barely texted," Patton muttered, taking another marshmallow off of the cream and putting it in his mouth, "I mean we barely texted before but it's even less now,"
He nodded along, "Do you think that it's your fault?" He asked, stirring in some sugar because he found the coffee a bit bland, even though he'd already drank some of it.
Patton's shoulders sunk as he held the warm cup in his hands on the table, his smile reflected into a patch of visable hot chocolate. "....I'll take that as a yes," Remy continued, "Really, it isn't your fault, just give them time, they'll come around,"
"Are you sure my dad...I mean my step dad didn't say anything after that day," Patton told him, "He just sat there silently as mom spoke to me,"
"I definitely am, anyone's a fool to dislike you Patton, honestly you're like a small ball of sunshine even though you're like a sky scraper," Remy declared.
He nodded in response as he slurped some cream. "Anyways so do you have any plans this week?" Patton asked.
"I met a guy a few days ago and guess what we're doing in a few days?" Remy was almost literally shaking with excitement or maybe it was the ammount of caffine he's had.
Quickly scooping a piece of cake in his mouth and swallowing it in one go, he slammed a hand on the table, "You got a date?!?! What's his name? What's he like? Is he cute? What's he like?" Patton asked, spitting question after question at Remy, and a bit of cake.
"His name is Roman Layor and he's really handsome but kind of loud," Remy told Patton as he remebered the man in question's dark green eyes when they first met each other.
Patton gasped so loudly that everyone would stare at him in confusion and concern. "Don't worry, he's alright," Remy reassured the other customers that were staring, "What the hell Patton?"
"Language-"
Remy glared as he took Patton's plate of cake and held a knife againest it, horizontally, "Tell me or else the cake gets it,"
His eyes widened as he stared at the cake as it's frosting cried out for help, "He may or may not be my best friend-"
Immediately Remy slid the cake back over to Patton, "Oh, that's nice," he said, pleasantly surprised with Patton announcement to him, "Well now I know he's passed the Patton test," He mumbled, taking a sip of his coffee again.
"What's the Patton test?"
"You know how you know most of the people I know?" Remy started.
"Yeah?" Patton urged him on. Rather confused as he slurped some more sprinkles and cream into his mouth after he spoke.
Remy pushed his glasses up as he continued, "Well, if they don't like you then they're gone," He told him, slurping his coffee, "It's to keep peace among my friends when ever I invite you all around,"
Patton nodded along in agreement with his flamboyant friend, "Also anyone would be a fool to dislike you so," Remy shrugged.
"Awwwww thanks Rem," Patton said, clearly emotionally touched by Remy's statement. He isn't exactly the touchy feely type of person so this is rather nice of him so he appreciates it more.
Remy blushed embarrassed by himself as they both finished their drinks, "I'll take them, want another drink? Or another cake?" He asked, recovering from himself.
"I'll have a tea and I guess I'll have another cake,"
"Lovely,"
Remy stood up, taking their empty dishes and putting them in the bowl on the cart before ordering once again. Another coffee, a tea and two cakes. Patton's cake looked nice so Remy decided to try it. Though he saw how protective Patton was of his cake so he didn't ask.
"Awww two cakes just for me?" Patton teased as Remy placed down one cake and the tea in front of Patton. He held it protectively to his chest it was almost comical to watch. "I'm kidding Remy,"
"I hope so," Remy chuckled, taking a chunk off of the cake and tasting it, "This...this...this is beautiful," It was enough to make a grown man cry.
"I knowwww!" Patton agreed as he ate some of his cake as well.
"Why did you hide this from me Patton?" Remy was now quite literally crying happily as the taste danced on his touch to a melody of joy upon his mind.
"Because I can," Patton winked cheekily.
