Ding dong!

Tucking the tea towel back into the drawer, flustered, Patton looked between the door of the oven and the door of the kitchen. Contemplating rapidly which one to tend to first. Putting on the oven gloves, Patton went over to the oven before-

Ding dong!

"I'M COMING!" Patton yelled to the door, tearing the oven gloves off of his hands and hopping towards the front door quickly, tripping over air as the door frame smacked him in the face.

Groaning, Patton held his head as he finally got to the door without sustaining any further injury. Unlocking the door, Patton opened it to the people that stood outside of it.

The throb of the side of his head blurred his eye sight, or maybe it was his crooked glasses after bashing into that wall a minute ago. "Logan?" Patton called quietly, adjusting his glasses as his eyes focused on the view in front of himself. "Is that you?" Patton asked as the figure on the left approached him, his arms spread out calmly.

Enveloping him in his warm arms, a voice whispered in Patton's ear, "I'm home Patton," the voice tickled againest Patton's ear as a pair of arms wrapped themselves around Logan's body with a hint of hesitance. Warmly, they drew him closer in, the beat of Patton's heart tapped againest Logan's chest in a familiar feeling that he forgot he missed dearly.

Sighing gently, Patton laid his head on Logan's shoulder sinking into the warmth of the one he loved ever so much. The gentle breathing brushed againest the hair on the back of Logan's neck as they held one another. The soft fabric of Logan's pjyamas were entangled between Patton's fingers as he held onto it tightly. An appricated fruity smell from Roman's house presumably lingered on his clothing.

Leaning his head on Patton's that rested upon his shoulder, Logan felt Patton slouch slightly to match Logan's height. If anything, coming home wasn't what he was he expected in the first place. It felt warm. Like a fresh cup of hot chocolate on a cold winters night, marshmellows bopping on top of the foam. Recognising the scent of home, the smell of Patton's shampoo bubbling inside him as if he was a highschooler once again yet the rushed adrenaline seeped off of Patton as well as the smell of tonights dinner. Fingers softly gripped on the back of his pjyamas as Logan held onto the feeling as if was the last time he'd feel that feeling.

If a moment could last forever, it would be that one.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

"SUGAR HONEY ICED TEA," Patton shot up, tripping all the way to the kitchen, the drawer rolled open as he yanked the oven gloves on, taking out the food that he felt in the oven. Placing it on the raised platform, Patton began fanning the oven obessively.

Arms slowly falling to his side, a hand patted Logan's shoulder before going past him and making his way into the apartment. Peering into the kitchen, Roman observed the situation before making his way to the nearest windows and opening them.

"Dad?" Janus came down from the stairs in a rush as Yvette opened her door swiftly.

Calming down, the fire alarm stopped beeping. Even a few moments after it stopped, Patton was still fanning the oven in hopes the alarm wouldn't go off.

Reapproaching his fiancè, Logan slowly slipped his hands underneath Patton's as his hands soon stopped fanning the oven. Slowly turning towards Logan, the towel got taken out of his hands as Logan draped it over his arm.

Standing in the doorway, the kid stared in awe whilst Logan looked over his shoulder as he went to put the tea towel away again, barely noticing the kids standing right in the frame of the door.

"Dad?"

"Yes?" Both Patton and Logan chirped at the same time as they cocked their heads in the direction of their kids.

Carefully, Yvette led the two into the kitchen. Looking up at Logan she seemed to not know what face to make. Her eyebrows frowned sadly as her mouth could barely muster a smile but rather an expression of confusion.

Patting his little sister's head, Janus met Logan's eyes with a piercing sense of certainity. "And where have you been?" Janus asked, crossing his arms. I wouldn't decribe his expression as angry, more hurt.

"Janus, Yvette, I'm so sorry for leaving you two," Logan crouched down to Yvette half way through the sentence, constantly gazing between the two. "It wasn't fair on you two to do that,"

"Where were you?" Janus repeated asserting his question again as if Logan didn't hear it the first time.

Pushing himself up to stand, Logan gave a guilty smile to his son, "I was with Roman and Remus for the time I was away," Logan told Janus, his cold expression shivered upon Logan's skin with goosebumps and a frown that matched Janus' face.

Glossy eyes met Logan's, "Did you even think about me and Yvette?" Janus asked as he and Yvette cupped their hands together, squeezing his hand in comfort. The harsh breathing of his own echoed through Janus ears as his heart ached through his veins.

Gasping inaudiably, Logan held his own hand. Stiffly nodding, Logan hummed, "I did, I couldn't stop thinking about all of you. I could barely sleep," Logan told them, staring down at his fingers before up at his children. "I promise, I wanted to come home immediately," Logan glanced down to Yvette whom only listened to the other two conversing with one another.

"Then why didn't you?"

Forgetting to breathe for a moment, Logan took a deep breath in as he held the floor to balance himself. Brushing a strand of hair behind Yvette's ear, Logan spoke to his daughter, "Sometimes people feel like they need to run away, and when they do, sometimes they aren't ready to go home straight away," Placing a hand on Yvette's cheek, he wiped away a stray tear with his thumb as she hiccuped gently, sniffling as her nose ran.

Ruffling her hair from behind, Roman had came back, "Don't worry, I won't steal your dad again anytime soon," he told her before messing up Janus' hair, "You too, I saw that little hi Patton sent from you," Roman smiled at Janus before leaning on Janus' shoulder uncomfortably.

Embracing Logan, Yvette seemed like she wouldn't let him go. Picking her up, Logan walked out of the kitchen, "Come on, your dad needs to dish up dinner, us being in the kitchen would be in the way," he told them as he squeezed his way past Roman and Janus.

Giving Janus a side eye glance, Roman nodded in agreement, "Just give him time, he'll explain eventually," Roman told Janus, patting his messed up hair before following Logan out of the kitchen into the living as Janus followed behind.

Dishing up 5 plates, Patton stared blankly at the food. "Wait Roman, I didn't know you were staying for dinner?" Patton shot up, glaring at the living room, expression softening as he saw the scene. His heart glowed gently as he placed the cutlery on the plates before leaving the kitchen.

Holding onto the door frame as he attempted to be as quiet as possible when walking towards the four.

Slouching on the sofa, the kids had cuddled near Logan, a string of drool hung from Logan's jaw as the kids were curled up. From the other sofa, Roman was entirely drapped across it, limbs extended everywhere in contrast to the sweet scene. The quiet mumbling of the television murmured in the background like white noise.

Stroking Yvette's cheek he woke her up before poking Logan on his dry cheek then finally gently tapping Janus shoulder to wake those three up.

Afterwards, Patton proceeded to push Roman off of the sofa, he was on the verge of falling anyways.

"Come on, dinner is getting cold," Patton told the five, making his way to the kitchen and grabbing his own food.
