Trigger warning: Food Mention, death mention, mention of violence, references to homophobia.

It had been a few days since Logan had told Yvette vaguely about his mother and pointed out a picture of her on the wall: "So that's who that pretty lady is," Yvette commented when Logan pointed her out. It was quite frankly, adorable, I wish you were there to witness it. Oh well.

The two had gotten closer ever since which was wonderful.

Today, however, Yvette was standing in front of a framed photo of two people. One of which she identified as Logan, the other however, she didn't know at all. The teenager was skinny and tall along with an unhealthily pale complexion. The boy had stormy grey eyes and dark chestnut shade of brown hair that had black tips, he may have dyed his hair black before. Under his eyes were dark, similar to Logan when he was younger. He wore a large purple hoodie and ripped jeans that revealed his sunburnt knees. There seemed to be a permanent sad glint in his eyes even though he was smiling in the selfie. He had two prominent beauty marks on the lower half of his cheek that gave him a splash of colour. The stranger was almost doll like, as he stared back at her from the frame. However both of the teenagers had purple bruises splattered unkindly along their skin, the two were both smiling as the boy she didn't recognize had slung his arm around Logan's shoulder as Logan just stood there awkwardly.

"Hm? What are you looking at kiddo?" Patton asked, messing up her long hair slightly.

Yvette smiled as she pointed at the boy she was staring at, "Do you know who he is dad?" She asked, the shiny glass reflected her curiousity in the light as she spoke.

Patton looked closer at the boy in the picture, it definitely wasn't Emile. Unless he had an unknown emo phase that no one knew about. "I...I don't actually know kiddo, you could go ask your dad as he's also in the picture,"

"But since he's not here right now," Patton began speaking once again, "We could play a board game or mario,"

Yvette nodded, looking at her dad as he turned to go get either a board game or the console out. She gazed back at the picture for a lingering moment before rejoining Patton, he'd decided on mario. Maybe they'd get past that really annoying level today.

Time Skip!

They didn't get past the level. Oh well, there's always other chances unless they fuck up all of their lives then it'll take a while.

"I'm back," Logan announced, coming in with several bags of groceries they needed. He told them he'd pick them up on the way back from work. As per usual, he took off his shoes and began packing the food away.

The three of them usually had all the food he packed away so it was a pain every week, Logan also got some new things the other two could try. All of them didn't really have much variety in their diets, honestly, not surprised.

Patton and Yvette had turned off the switch a few minutes ago so they were both just getting through work or a TV program and a colouring book. You're never too old for colouring books in my opinion. She was currently colouring in a picture of snow white with whatever colours she wanted because aparently, Snow White is a purple alien.

"What do you guys want for dinner anyway?" Logan asked from the kitchen.

"Can we have Mc Donalds?" The two asked, completely synchronized and completely unfazed by the other.

Letting out a chuckled, Logan reluctantly agreed. The three of them hadn't had Mc Donald's together in a while, well, last time wasn't exactly a fun time. Nothing could be helped back then.

Time skip! Mac Donalds!

The three of them had ordered their food and now were waiting at a table Yvette had picked out.

"Dad," Yvette began, circling a word she found in the word search.

"Yeah?" Both of them answered as Logan looked up from his phone and Patton looked at his daughter.

She just laughed at their usual mistake, she proceeded to rob Patton's phone and flicked through the gallery to one specific photo. It was the one of Logan and the kid with the dark hair from that morning. It was poorly taken as neither Patton nor Eve could take satisfactory photos. "Do you mind if I ask who the boy is in the photo?"

Logan glanced at the photo before squinting at it to be able to identify the photo. He recognized it. He gave a nostalgic smile as he recalled the day they'd taken that photo.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been quite a few weeks since the rumor of Logan being gay had spread like the plague around the school. Although everyone hated him, there was one person that stayed by his side the entire time, Virgil Haywood.
More times than often, Virgil would be compared to the dead. They weren't wrong, he did look like he could have been raised from the dead. His hair reminded Logan of burnt chocolate, well if that's possible. The light of day didn't even look like it's seen his skin whilst the painful storms from above had met his eyes many times. He didn't always look like that though.
Virgil was a rather introverted kid, although, something about him springed to life whenever him and Logan hung out. The two always made the joke how, 'two wrong actually made a right with our friendship,' it wasn't wrong. The part about them both being wrong was.
He had 4 siblings, all 5 of them looked almost identical as well. There were only a set of male triplets, an older brother and Virgil, unfortunately for Virgil, he was the youngest. All of them were rather close in age, the eldest: Aaron acted like he was like a millania older than them all, unironically. The triplets: Xander, Diego and Victor were annoying as ever, they all constantly begged for attention, I couldn't blame them, there's a lot of them in a large house. It just got very lonely in their house. Regarding Virgil, they were extremely demeaning to him, so he and Logan spent most of their time out of that house.
Together, the two of the felt unstoppable, well until the inevitable unnecessary violence to put them back in their place. Everyone needs a friendship like theirs, it was so cheerful, even through the deepest shit.
They'd taken a brutal beating the previous day, they both swore they'd probaly never feel like that again. Well, that was before Logan explained that if that feeling had previously been inflicted, it very well could be again. But then again, silently, he hoped that he'd never feel how those people made him feel.
The two had just been released from school, it was summer vacation like it was now, the two of them decided to go to the local theme park. The park was rundown and frankly, was falling apart, but it always had a place in their hearts.
They'd taken the photo just in front of the most magnificent one. It was insanely ginormous and extremely dangerous since it was broken. Both of them had gone on it when they were younger. The only way they could describe it is if the taste of the wind was pulsing violently through your veins and organs for a full 2 minutes.
The sun shone in front of them, blinding them as they took the photo. It was one of many they had taken that day, and it was a day Logan could never forget. But it was the only one left after he burnt the others to nothing.
~~~~~~~~~~~

"It's alright, you guys deserve to know since the picture is in the apartment," Logan met Yvette's eyes.

Patton hummed in agreement as he watched them.

He wasn't angry, he had no resentment. Logan only looked sad, like the boy in the photo, "He was my best friend throughout my childhood," He told them.

"Was? Did something happen between you two?" Patton asked, sympathetically.

Logan shook his head, "No, he died, but it's alright, people come and go, it's apart of life," Yvette seemed disappointed in the answer and regrettful, "But...that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy every moment I had with him, enjoy life Evie, make the most out of it,"

"I will," She agreed with a loving smile at both of her dad's.
