Time Skip! 1 Week Later!
"Hey Dad, can I go over to Sam's house today," Yvette asked, tapping on Patton's shoulder.
He turned around to face her, "Sure, if it's okay with Sam's mother,"
"Yeah it is!" She celebrated.
"Alright then kiddo," Patton ruffled her hair softly, grabbing the apartment keys. Perhaps today he could do it.
Time skip! After Yvette went to Sam's house!
Logan was sitting on the sofa, as per usual and watching whatever the hell was on the tv at the time. He was wearing a normal buttoned up shirt and a dark blue jumper on top of it, today he wasn't wearing a tie. Lazy day I suppose. His hair was still brushed neatly out of his face like every other day.
Patton threw himself over the back of the sofa, landing next to Logan. Let's just say jumping like that hurts because it does.
"You're back?" Logan stated, it was less of a question as Patton was right next to him.
"Yep!" Patton replied, his fringe falling off the sofa.
He hummed in response, looking over to where Patton was. He smiled quietly as he brushed a few strands off of Patton's face. "Do you wanna like, do something today Lo?" Patton asked, sitting up after his head turned red from all the blood that flowed there.
"Sure, where'd you wanna go?" Logan asks.
"Maybe we could catch a movie?" Patton suggested.
"Movies can't move, but okay," Logan told him, "Do you wanna go now?"
"Absolutely!" Patton quite literally bounced out of his seat, "Can we get food afterwards?"
Logan nodded, "We do need lunch," He smirked, "Go get your shoes on then,"
Patton hummed in response, going over to where where shoe rack was then putting his shoes on, as did Logan.
The short drive to the cinema was fullfilling in a beautiful way. The smell of the grass flowing through the open windows of the car. The warm air that brushed againest their cheeks as the wind ran it's fingers in their hair. The small smile that was knitted upon Logan's face by the needles of Patton's heart string. The sound of the music brushing past their ears as it sung, 'She' by dodie. The wilting blossoms upon the tree from last spring, the viberant green upon their leaves that spun past them like spiders on a web. A summer shower watered them in the gorgeously cruel cycle of life.
The car's engine stopped mumbling it's words, now sleeping between two straight white lines on the concrete floor. Logan and Patton climbed out of it so it'd rest in peace. Their fingers intertwined with one another as their legs walked over to the building. Unlike their eyes that only gazed at each other from the corner of their faces.
Logan's cold stiff fingers were embraced by the warmth of Patton's soft, comforting ones as they entered the building. The only way to describe the lump in his throat was that he felt criminal.
"So, what should we see?" Logan's head dazed out of it's trance and looked up upon the board Patton was pointing towards with his free hand.
Today it was showing 'The Grudge', 'Bad Boys For Life', 'Dolittle', 'Weathering With You', 'The Gentlemen' and finally, 'The Rhythm Seletion'. Well at least those were the ones that were showing in a few minutes.
"Dolittle was a good movie the last few times," Logan moved Patton's finger down to were the movie name was.
Patton beamed excitedly, "He talks to animals, right?"
Looking back at Patton with a free chuckle, he said, "Yes, you're correct,"
Patton squeezed his hand in response as they brought both of them over to where they could get the tickets, and of course, the popcorn. "What do you want to drink?" Patton asked Logan.
"I might just get water," He replied, eying up the water bottles whilst they waited.
"Awh, alright, but you're trying whatever I get mr water man," Patton pouted unconvincingly.
Logan couldn't stop smiling at him as he nodded, picking up the water bottle from the shelf.
Time skip! Before the movie!
"C'mon~" Patton teased, waving the drink in Logan's face. No one would admit this, but he was extremely red, even in the dim lights of the theatre. "You said you'd try it,"
Logan pushed his glasses back up, getting a clearer imagine of a frowny faced Patton, "It's good, I tried it,"
He rolled his eyes playfully, picking the cup out of Patton's cold palm and taking a sip of it. His eyes gleamed as the liquid touched his tounge, well, that was before he was grabbing his head in pain.
"Oh! Are you okay Lo?" Patton asked, flinging his arms around, unable to know what to do.
"Brain...freeze," Logan stuttered out, holding his hands in his equally cold hands.
Not knowing what to do, Patton put his hand on Logan's forehead in a way to combat the brain freeze. "What..?" Logan asked, his hair was sort of a mess.
Patton just laughed at himself, still having his hand on Logan's head. Logan took the hand off of his forehead and just held it in his own hand.
Time skip! After the film!
"Well that was satisfactory," Logan grinned, grabbing the empty drink that was supposed to be Patton's but he finished it instead.
"Mhm!" Patton agreed, they both walked out of the theatre, fingers still intertwined like their lifelines.
"Mac Donald's is just over there," Logan pointed over to where a giant M loomed above everything, even the trees, though, they were short.
The fast food restaurant was conveniently placed right by the cinema. I suppose it would be for business purposes as people usually go to watch films in the afternoon or before they go and get dinner. Either way, it was nearby. It was a standard place, your regular Mac Donald's.
"Hey Lo," Patton stopped.
Logan turned back to Patton, being a few steps in front, he walked back a bit, "Yes Patton?"
"When we first met, I thought..." He paused, finding the right words all over again, "I thought we were just platonic soulmates,"
The man in front of him's expression softened as Patton continued speaking, "Back then...I would say I was stupid, but you helped me realise so many things,"
"I realised that love was just love, no matter what," He gazed up into Logan's eyes in the noon sunlight, "I realised how small my world was,"
"Patton..." Logan muttered gently.
"But, you opened my eyes," Patton moved in closer to the person he was holding onto, "And..."
His eyes watered silently as their other hands joined together, "Would you like to give us...a try?" Patton asked.
"Of course," Logan replied, moving in closer to Patton, "May I?"
"You may,"
Their warm lips contected after a life long wait. Maybe it was worth the wait. Maybe it wasn't all just for nothing. Maybe all that time wasn't wasted. Maybe everything was leading up to this one exact moment in their lives. Well, I can give you a simple answer, or I can let you descide that yourself. Take a guess.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting all this time," Patton told him, backing away slightly so they could breathe.
A single meloncholy smile stayed on Logan's face, "No, I am,"
Another smile was returned as they walked over to the Mac Donald's to get their lunch.
Even though the windows were closed the air in the car was clearer than it was before. The bright midday sun danced upon their skin on each twist and turn in the road, but it was just bright. Another beautiful day had once again began, even if it was in the middle of the actual day. Funny isn't it?
