Chapter 24: Truly, Madly & Deeply

"Rohan I'm sorry to say but whatever your telling me isn't enough to prove you innocent".

Shanaya frowned, "And why is that, the video is clearly tampered with and it clearly shows Rohan's drink was spiked".

Currently Rohan and Shanaya were in their shared hotel room, talking to Rohan's lawyer on the phone. They decided to fill the lawyer in about everything they discovered today seeing as they had a bit of time to spare before the bartender's shift.

"Look Shanaya, the video might show that Rohan's drink was spiked, but if what your telling me is true--".

"Which it is".

"Then the video doesn't show Rohan consuming that drink and it certainly doesn't prove that Rohan is innocent and didn't take advantage of Tanya".

"Okay but what if we manage to retrieve rest of the footage and it shows Rohan consuming the spiked drink, then what?".

"Then the case will go a little bit in Rohan's favour, but once again it won't really prove that Rohan is innocent".

Shanaya opened her mouth to argue but before she could say anything to the lawyer, the phone was taken from her hand and was smashed to the wall.

"Rohan!" Shanaya yelled, looking at Rohan in shock, not at all expecting this reaction from him.

"Don't Rohan me Shanaya!" Rohan yelled angrily, "The useless lawyer was getting on my nerves".

"Rohan--".

"No!" Rohan yelled, "What does he think, if he doesn't keep repeating it then I won't realise how screwed I am!".

"Rohan he was just trying to help".

"Help?!" Rohan threw his hands in the air in frustration, "That isn't help Shanaya, every idea we have he keeps shutting down saying it won't be enough, but you know what screw him!".

Shanaya looked at Rohan in shock, this outburst was out of the blue but she knew he needed to get it off his chest, so she didn't stop him from exploding, "I don't give a crap about what he thinks, I know I'm innocent and thats all it matters, I know I'm innocent, you know--".

Rohan stopped looked at Shanaya with hopeful yet sad eyes, "You do know I'm innocent, right?".

Shanaya stepped forward and cupped Rohan's face in her hands, "Of course I know your innocent Rohan, if I even had the slightest doubt in my mind then I wouldn't be standing here".

Rohan removed Shanaya's hands from his face, "But why Shanaya?".

Shanaya looked at Rohan in confusion, "Why what?".

"Why do you have such blind faith in me?" Rohan asked, with teary eyes, "Why do you put your faith in me when I never trusted you, tell me Shanaya why?".

"Because I'm stupid Rohan!" Shanaya yelled, "I'm stupidly in love with you and no matter what I do, no matter what you do, I can't shake you off of my skin".

Rohan stepped towards Shanaya "Shanaya--".

"No!" Shanaya yelled, stepping back from Rohan, "Don't say anything Rohan, don't try to reassure you, don't promise me, just don't do anything, at least not until your fully back to me".

Rohan looked at Shanaya in confusion, "What?".

Shanaya gave Rohan a sad smile, "I'm not an idiot Rohan, I know you still don't fully trust me, I know even now there is the smallest voice in your head that keeps telling you all of this is a lie, that I'm pretending to be on your side, but do you know what its okay, because slowly but surely you are returning to me, your not my bad boy right now, but I know my bad boy is returning to me, and until he does I'm going to work my ass off to prove you innocent, I'll never lose faith in you Rohan, even if one day you lose faith in yourself, just know I'll never lose faith in you, no matter what you do to me, you will always find me by your side, and I know some people might call me crazy for still being in love with a guy who has hurt me many times not only emotionally but also physically, but what can I do, I'm an idiot, an idiot whose truly, madly and deeply in love with you Rohan Nanda and I can't do anything about it, I don't want to do anything about it".
