Chapter 2: Still Love The Girl?

After her argument with Rhea, Shanaya had run outside and was now sitting on the bench crying her eyes out, she knew Rhea was only looking out for her, yet she couldn't tolerate anyone telling her that Rohan wasn't coming back, she refused to believe Rohan won't come back to her, he has to come back, he just has to. 

"Rohan!" Shanaya yelled, crying uncontrollably, "How can Rhea expect me to forget you, how can I forget the person who I'm alive for, how can I forget you Rohan, how?!".

"Don't forget him Shanaya".

Shanaya looked up and saw Jeet coming and sitting next to her, "But Rhea--"

"Shanaya, Rhea is just worried for you, we all are, we all have seen how hurt and broken you are, I know the way Rhea said it wasn't right, but she didn't mean it to come out like that".

Shanaya looked at Jeet in confusion, "Then what did she mean?".

"Shanaya all Rhea wants is for you to stop living like a lifeless soul, she told you to move on from Rohan because for her thats the only way she will get her old best friend back, you're forgetting, if you loved Rohan, then Rhea considered him her brother, she is the one who rooted for both of you the most, out of everyone she worked the most to make sure you and Rohan didn't lose each other".

"Jeet I know Rhea always wants the best for me, but Jeet you know without Rohan I'm nothing, I don't know how and when he became not only my love but also my reason to live, I can't forget him, I just can't".

Jeet hugged a sobbing Shanaya, "Don't forget him then Shanaya, but at least stop living like this".

"I can't help it Jeet, I have no reason to live, when Rohan left he took my reason to live along with him".

"But Shanaya when Rohan comes back do you think he will be happy seeing his nerd so broken?".

Shanaya broke the hug and looked at Jeet in confusion, "What?".

"Rohan has always wanted you to be independent to live your life to the fullest, and never be dependent on anyone, not even him, when he comes back and finds out that his Shanaya has forgotten how to live life all because of him, he will be extremely guilty, and you wouldn't want Rohan to feel even more guilty then he will already be, would you?".

Shanaya shook her head, "I don't want Rohan to feel guilty for my decision".

"Then start living your life Shanaya, start smiling, start enjoying life, I'm not telling you to forget Rohan because I know thats not possible for you, all I'm saying is wait for Rohan to come back but at the same time don't lose yourself while waiting for him".

Shanaya let Jeet's words sink in, she knew he was right, Rohan would never want her to ruin her life just because of him, if he was to come now he would be extremely guilty and Shanaya didn't want him to feel guilty because of her. 

"Your right Jeet, Rohan will be extremely upset seeing me like this, I won't promise anything Jeet, but I will try, I will try to be the old Shanaya but no promises".

Jeet smiled at Shanaya, "And thats enough for me Shanaya, it will be enough for Rohan".

Shanaya smiled and looked up at the sky and stared at the birds, after a minute of silence she finally spoke, "Do you think he misses me as much as I miss him?".

"No".

Shanaya looked at Jeet shocked, who just gave her a small smile in return, "Excuse me?".

"What, Rohan won't be missing you as much as you miss him, because he will be missing you way more than you could ever miss him".
