Jihoon's POV

I took a quick breath as I finally exited my car to walk towards the front gate of Jinyoung's house.
I haven't seen Jinyoung for weeks before Seoyoon and I got back together.
Seeing how Seoyoon was very concerned for him, I decided to go and check on him myself.
I went ahead and pressed the doorbell before waiting patiently for someone to open the door.
Luckily, his dad appeared not long after.

"Ahh, Jihoon, my other son. Come on in." His dad happily greeted as he unlocked the front gate.

"Hello Mr.Bae. It's good to see you again, you look great." I complimented.
It never hurts to start a conversation by praising.
How else would I still be in the business industry?

"Well we're not getting any younger but we sure do want to feel like one." He joked as we both walked inside his house.

"Is jinyoung here?" I asked with a polite manner.

"Ofcourse, let me go get him for a sec. make youself at home." He said and invited me further in their living room.
I sat as I waited for Jinyoung to show up, unaware of what i'm actually suppose to say to him.
Damn, I really had the nerve to show up here without anything to say huh?

"Jihoon." I looked back to see Jinyoung walking towards me with a smile.

"Hey bud, how you doing?" I greeted as we both went in for a bro hug.

"I'm doing great. So what brought you here?" He asked as we both made ourselves comfortable.
Crazy how just a year ago he and I couldn't get along and now we're catching up like we've been friends for years.

"Well, I just wanted to pay a visit since I haven't been around for awhile." I replied.
It wasn't the exact reason for my visit but partly, it was.

"Anything I can offer? A drink?" He kindly asked.

"A little too early for a drink don't you think?" I joked.

"Well, not too early for fresh apple juice straight from my father's farm." He winked and quickly grabbed two glasses.

"How have you been doing?" He asked as he poured fresh apple juice on the glass before serving them for the both of us.

"I've been good, great actually." I smiled.

"Course. After all, Seoyoon told me you guys were back together." He stated, i'm surprised he said that without any awkwardness in his voice.
Usually topics about Seoyoon would get us both silent.

"Oh right, Seoyoon and I met yesterday. She told me exactly what was going on. I gotta say, congratulations." He said and took a sip of his drink.

"Thanks man." I chuckled.

"Are you..okay with it?" I asked, making things a little awkward.
I knew asking this would ruin the moment but I needed to know his feelings.
I can't just barge in here and show off about Seoyoon and I's relationship.
They had histories too and I know he loved her a lot.
It would be a jerk move if I invalidated his feelings.

"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" He laughed.

"Seoyoon told me about yesterday.." I mentioned.

"Oh that?" He laughed as he scratches the back of his head.

"Yeah well, it's only natural that I..you know felt a little, I don't know, hurt?" He reasoned.

"I'm sorry. I should've consulted you first before-"

"Hey, we both know that I love her. But there's nothing to be sorry about." He quickly interrupted.

"She made her choice and there's nothing I can do about it. And I wouldn't have done anything at all to begin with." He added.

"She loves you and all I ever want is for her to be happy too. If she's happy with you then she should be with you." He smiled sincerely.
I felt slightly comforted but it still didn't brush off the feeling of guilt as I see him smile with pain in his eyes.

"I'm really sorry." I apologised again.

"Apologise one more time and no more apple juice for you." He laughed.

"Oh woah, not the juice buddy not the juice." I joked back.

"No seriously, no hard feelings. This is what's meant to happen. All you gotta do now is to take good care of her. She's very vulnerable, you know that." He reminded.

"I know, and I will take care of her." We both sat in complete silence after having to most semi-serious conversation.

"Well, that didn't sound too manly, didn't it?" He joked again to break off the silence.

"I guess so." I laughed and drank the juice.

"So, any plans on moving forward? After all, you guys dated for a long time, getting back together now won't change that fact." He asked, grabbing the T.V remote as his dad enters the living room to join the both of us.
True, how did I realise that just now?

"I'm not sure. She still thinks it's a little too fast for anything too serious." I shrugged.

"Why not? You've got a house on your own and a stable job. Plus, you're in the right age to do so." Mr.Bae joined in our conversation as well.

"Maybe she's just waiting for you to pop the question." Jinyoung smirked.

"What, like marriage?" I asked.

"Well what else is there to ask?" His dad added.

"Right. But I don't know..I'm still waiting for the right moment." I shyly smiled.

"Well if her birthday party isn't the perfect timing for you, I don't know what is." Jinyoung scoffed.

Oh shit.

Her birthday! I almost forgot! Out of all days that I could potentially forget, why her special day? I still don't have anything to get her and it's 2 days away!

"You didn't forget, right?" He asked with his eyebrow furrowing.

"Me? Of course not. What type of boyfriend am I if I forgot?" I lied.
Well in my defence, I didn't entirely forgot.
It just swiftly slipped off of my mind but I did not forget.
I'm making up excuses but it worked didn't it?

"What are you planning on getting her?" He asked yet again.
Nothing, I haven't got her anything.
I also somehow can't think if anything to give her!
I know what she likes and all but I just think giving her materialistic things won't be enough.
I needed to give her something more, something that could last for a lifetime.
Although I knew that's something she would normally just ask for, I still didn't want to settle for the less.
She was special to me.
Thus, my present should also be special.

"Actually, I was thinking..maybe you could help."
