2nd Chances // Park Jihoon FF

As we were preparing to have an unexpected dinner party after today's success, Jihoon texted and informed me that he was waiting outside the building.
I was alittle confused as to why he would be here at this hour.
Anyway, I excused myself for a second and made my way to him.
I couldn't wait to tell him how my day went.
I finally reached the lobby and headed straight to where Jihoon said he was.
I saw him there standing beside his car with his usual "elegantly beautiful" look.

"Jihoon!" I called out with a wave.
He looked up to me and smiled before waving back.
I waited patiently for the green light so I would be able to cross the road.

"Hi there." He smiled to me.

"How was presentation? How'd it go?" He curiously asked.

"Well.." I pretended to look down.

"Well?"

"It was..a success!!" I excitedly announced.

"I knew it!" He laughed.

"Congratulations!" He said and gave me a hug. I was too happy to care about the sudden physical contact and gave him a hug back.
I don't really hug him but I guess today was a pass for that.

"and because of that.." He trailed off and opened his car.

"I got you this." He smiled as he took out a white paper bag.

"Pandora? Why on earth would you buy me this?" I asked shocked, taking the paper bag from him.

"Well, It was to congratulate you." He chuckled.

"You shouldn't have." I pouted while smiling.

"Open it up." He excitedly told me to do so. I finally removed the ribbon from the paper bag and it revealed a white box.
I gave him a confused look and finally took the box to give the inside a look.
I was taken away by how beautiful the necklace that was laying inside, looked.
It was silver  snowflake with a mix of blue pendant.
It was ravishing.

"It's beautiful Jihoon, I-"

"Do you like it?" he asked.

"I love it." There's no point in trying to tell him that he shouldn't have bought this for me.
I know he would still push through and besides, it was already here.

"I'm glad you do." He softly smiled.
There it was again, the feeling of wanting to have him in my arms.
To openly look in his eyes and accept all the love he's been offering.
I'm starting to think that whatever it is i'm feeling right now..
it's stopping me from giving him anymore hard time.

"Should I take you inside now?" He asked, changing the topic.

"No, it's fine. we'll be on our way to have a dinner with the other staffs." I informed him.

"Which by the way, would you like to come with?" I shyly asked.

"If you want me to come, then I sure will." He winked.

"I wouldn't invite you if I didn't want you to." I shyly smiled.

"Okay then. I'll wait for you here." He warmly smiled.
I simply gave him a nod and made my way to the building.

"So why did Jihoon come?" My mom asked as she saw me enter the office.

"Oh he just wanted to give me a gift to congratulate me." I explained to her.

"Jihoon must have known that you were gonna succeed huh?" She chuckled.

"Right? I don't know how he does it." I chuckled back as I stare at the gift that he had just given me.
I don't know how Jihoon knew that today's presentation was a success.
Infact, I don't know how he always knows things ahead of me.
I guess that's just really what he is.
He believes in me more than anyone else could.

"So, is Jihoon coming with us then?" She asked again, grabbing her bag and was preparing to finally leave.

"Yeah."

"Mom?" I suddenly called out.

"Yes sweety?" She turned back with a slight concerned look on her face as she noticed that something was bothering me a little bit.
I didn't say anything back and ran to her arms instead.
I wanted to feel her warmth after all the hard times I had to deal with.
Now that I felt the success that I needed to feel, I wanted to thank her more than anything for allowing me to achieve that.

"Anything wrong?" She asked as she hugged me back.

"No mom. I just wanted to give you a hug." I spoke. Although it sounded more like a murmur since my face was buried on her chest.

"Thank you, for everything."

"I..think i'm ready to give us a chance." I smiled at her.

"What do you mean?" She asked with a confused smile.

"Jihoon, mom.." I bit my lower lip as i looked down.

"Are you sure about it now?" She asked with a supportive look on her face.
Of course she'd be happy to find out.
She has always been in favour with Jihoon ever since before.

"All I know is that I love him mom. That must mean that i'm sure, right?" I asked.

"Yes, that's exactly what it means." She chuckled and pulled me back into a hug.

"Well we should get going, I don't want everyone else to wait." My mom laughed and pulled away from me.
she placed a hand on my hand and we started heading towards the exit.
I met up with Jihoon once again and finally made our way to the restaurant that we managed to book in no time.

We finally reached the restaurant and the receptionist finally lead us to the VIP table.
It may seem a little too much to have the VIP table but what can you do when you're gonna have dinner with a bunch of well-known entrepreneurs?
Even Jihoon was a pass for that.

"A toast! to our newest member of the company! and for having her first success today!" Mr.Lee initiated and stood up from his seat.
Everyone else did the same and raised their wine glass in the air.

"To Seoyoon!" They all chimed together.
I was at awe watching people eat and drink happily for a success that I achieved.
A person can never truly know happiness unless there are people around them who teaches them its definition.
This was a perfect example of that.
A simple congratulation could've made up my success for today.
But everyone wanted to join me on the successful journey.
It is indeed the best feeling in the world.
To see the people around you so happy and appreciative.
To see the people that you love, happy.

"Are you okay?" Jihoon asked and sat beside me.

"Of course I am." I smiled hugely.

"You seem to have a lot in your mind." He noticed with a concern look on his face.

"I'm just really happy right now. I guess it shows too much." I chuckled.

"I'm glad you're happy. Because you deserve it so much." He looked at me, with pure love and proudness.
The gaze that could never compare to anyone else.
The smile that no one else could warm my heart.
The look of the person I love.

"Do you wanna get some fresh air?"

Hey everyone!!
I'm so sorry if I haven't been able to update a lot. I've been busy this past few days and also because the world is in so much mess right now.
I wanted to take this time to remind everyone to always stay safe and healthy.
Also, it broke a thousands of heart with what happened recently in america where an innocent man was yet again, killed.
Let's all love eachother and kill the stronger virus in many people's mind, racism.
