I woke up in the morning under the shelter Chris built, cuddled up into Karl's side. I opened my eyes and carefully moved away from him so I wouldn't wake him up and hopefully no one saw us like that. I shivered slightly at the cool morning air, and lack of Karl's body heat, and sat up. Jimmy, Tyler, and Chandler had slept under the shelter Tyler built while Chris, Karl, and I slept under this one. The guys were all sun burnt and they looked completely drained, even as they slept. I, on the other hand, was just desperate for some heat.

I walked down the beach towards the water and laid back in the sand, trying to heat up in the sun's warmth.

"Morning," Karl groaned as he sat down in the sand next to me.

His morning voice took me by surprise, making his voice so much deeper than it normally is and it wasn't what I expected from him. I liked the sound of it and I'd like to hear it more often, to be completely honest.

"Good morning," I smiled.

"What are you doing down here?" Karl asked.

"I was cold so I decided to come lay in the sun," I shrugged.

"You were cold? It's like 80 degrees out here," Karl laughed.

I laughed, holding my hand out to Karl. He grabbed it and his eyes went wide.

"Geez, how are your hands so cold?" Karl laughed, closing both of his hands around mine, trying to warm them up.

"They're always like that," I giggled, "I don't know, I'm just always cold. You didn't realize how cold my hands were last night when I pulling jellyfish tentacles off of your arm?"

"No, that's not what I was focused on. Hang on," Karl smiled as he got up from where he sat.

I looked back out at the ocean until Karl came back with his hoodie. I smiled and accepted the hoodie from him and pulled it over my head. I had my own hoodie, it was in my bag under the shelter, but I like his better.

"Thank you," I smiled as I adjusted the hoodie around my torso.

"You're welcome," Karl smiled, "this is crazy."

"What is?" I asked.

"This island, I mean look at this," Karl smiled as he looked out at the ocean before us.

"I know, this is a whole ass island and someone is going to win it in what is most likely a series of dumb challenges that have nothing to do with winning an island," I laughed, "but that's what makes it fun. My real question is what are you going to do with an island?"

"You think I'll win?" Karl asked with a surprised smile.

"I mean, in the last 24 hours I've figured out that you're super into Survivor and if any of the challenges are anything like a Survivor challenge, then you'd have an edge over the competition," I shrugged.

"How did you know I like Survivor?" Karl asked.

"The buff," I smiled, "not just anyone has an official Survivor buff from one of the best seasons they have ever made."

"I think I just fell in love from that sentence," Karl laughed, "but you're right. Survivor is my favorite show. I watch it every week and I've seen every season. And it was the inspiration behind the whole last to leave island idea which is pretty cool."

"Then you'll win for sure," I smiled as I nudged his shoulders with mine, "so what are you going to do with an island?"

"I'd probably build a cabin here, for whenever I come out to have somewhere to sleep or whatever. Maybe, I don't know. It's a weird thing to think about," Karl laughed, "I mean what does anyone do with an island?"
