Since Saturday morning, Karl and I have talked every day. It's been strange, but in a good way. We went over a week without talking, but now we've talked every day for close to a week. I don't think I could ever go back to not talking to him. He likes bright colors and has never seen the Harry Potter series, which I criticized him heavily for, and he doesn't actually get offended by how much he's picked on by the guys since that's just their friendship but I wish they would be nicer to him anyway.

"Speaks Law Firm, this is Avalon, how may I help you?" I greeted happily as I answered the phone on my desk.

"Hi Ava, the boys are on their way in," Ashton informed me.

"Okay, do you want me to just send them in?" I asked.

"Actually, you can come on in with them. They're bringing us both lunch," Ashton laughed.

"Okay," I laughed, "if they keep it up, I'm going to get too used to them buying my lunch."

"I know, we should've gotten you a fake ID before your birthday. If we had all gone out sooner, maybe they'd be buying us both lunch a lot sooner," Ashton suggested.

"Maybe," I agreed, "but I hope you realize I plan to milk this for as long as possible."

"You're a smart girl so I'd expect nothing less," Ashton teased, "I've been meaning to ask. When we were out you told me about a guy named Karl."

"What's your question, sir?" I asked.

"You said he's a guy you could love and I told you to call him but he didn't answer. Did you ever get ahold of him?" Ashton asked.

"I did," I responded truthfully.

"And?" Ashton asked cheerfully.

"Mr. Irwin, I hardly think this is an appropriate workplace conversation," I giggled.

"I guess I'll just have to ask when we're not in the office then," Ashton laughed.

"Why are you so curious?" I questioned.

"I want you to be happy, or something like that," Ashton offered as an answer.

"I'm sure," I laughed, "the boys just got here."

"Thank you Avalon," Ashton laughed.

"You're welcome sir," I shook my head as I hung up the phone.

Calum, Luke, and Michael walked up to my desk with wide smiles on their faces. Michael just held up a large bag and wiggled his eyebrows at me. I laughed as I grabbed my phone and opened the doors to Ashton's office, letting the boys walk in first. I shut the doors behind us and we each took a seat in the various chairs around the room. Michael handed out everyone's food and I opened mine appreciatively.

We were laughing as we ate. These guys truly are like an older version of my guys. I really like being around them. I felt my phone vibrate in my lap, and I did my best to read my text without drawing any of the boys attention.

Karl: FaceTime dinner tonight? We can both go get some sushi or something and eat together over FaceTime

Me: You're adorable. How about pizza? I will never turn down pizza. And we can watch the same movie together after dinner. Just an option...

Karl: Okay now who's adorable? But that's perfect. When do you get off work?

Me: Around 5, I'm usually home before 5:30

Karl: Okay, we're filming right now but we'll be done before 5. I'm excited to see you

Me: You saw me yesterday
