My head was still kind of whirling from the after effects of the alcohol from last night. I don't remember most of the night honestly after about three rounds of Uno, but I'm sure whatever happened through the rest of the night was a blast.

"Ava, let's go pick up some dinner," Bailey smiled at me from where I was sitting on the couch in the living room.

I nodded before I leaned over and kissed Karl quickly. I followed Bailey out to his car and he started driving us towards wherever they had planned to get dinner from.

"Are you feeling hungover?" Bailey asked.

"Surprisingly no," I laughed, "I can definitely feel how drunk I got, but I'm not hungover. How are you feeling today?"

"I feel fine," Bailey shrugged with a laugh, "Karl said that when you get drunk you don't remember everything about the night."

"Yeah, I've noticed that. Seems like as soon as I start to feel that almost floaty feeling from the alcohol my memory seems to peace out," I laughed, "why? Did something happen last night?"

"No," Bailey shook his head, maybe a little too quickly, "we were just having fun playing Uno and I wasn't sure if you remembered everything about the end of the night."

"I definitely don't. The last I remember I think we were in the middle of maybe the fourth game of Uno and I was skipped like five turns in a row," I tried to remember with a laugh, "and then I woke up this morning next to Karl in bed, couldn't even tell you how I got there."

Bailey laughed, shaking his head as he kept driving. I honestly didn't know where they ordered dinner from or how far away we had to go.

We finally pulled up outside of a special sushi place. I had never eaten here myself but I heard amazing things about it. I had always wanted to try it and just hadn't gotten the opportunity. Who ordered this tonight?

Bailey ran in to get the food and gave it to me to hold on the long drive back. The delicious smell of the food was driving me crazy, I just wanted to eat this sushi. I'm such a glutton, no wonder I have so many issues with my body.

"I'll carry the food if you'll go unlock the door," Bailey offered with a smile.

"Okay?" I agreed skeptically.

That was kind of weird, but I took Bailey's keys anyway as I handed him the food so I could go unlock the door.

When I pushed the front door open, I was immediately welcomed with the scents of lavender and vanilla. To say I was confused was an understatement. All of the lights were off, only adding to my confusion.

There was a candle sitting on the ground in the hallway, creating the only light in the room. There were some unexpected rose petals scattered along with the candles.

"Follow them," Bailey nudged me, "don't ask questions."

"But-" I began until Bailey gave me a look.

"I said don't ask questions," Bailey laughed.

I slowly followed the trail of candles, finding another one every few feet until I got to the stairs. Every few steps sat another candle, telling me to go upstairs. I glanced back to Bailey and he only nodded his head to tell me to keep going. I didn't know what was happening but I could only guess where these candles were going to lead. I got to the top of the stairs and saw a candle sitting on each side of Karl's doorway. All of the lights were still off but his room looked completely illuminated. I slowly stepped towards his room, taking a deep breath before I stepped in.

It took my breath away. Every single surface was covered in candles, they were everywhere. And I mean everywhere. Karl was standing in the center of his bedroom, holding a bundle of roses.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I walked through his room to where he was standing.

"Don't interrupt, I rehearsed a soliloquy," Karl smiled.

I nodded as he handed me the roses and grabbed onto my other hand, intertwining our fingers. He took a deep breath before he stared straight into my eyes. I was surprised Karl even knew the word soliloquy, let alone how to use it properly.

"I am in love with you. And I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed, and that one day all of our labors will be returned to dust. And I know that the sun will swallow the only Earth we will ever have. And I am in love with you," Karl quoted from my favorite novel, "Avalon Montgomery, I will follow you wherever you will go for as long as you'll let me. I will spend every moment of every day doing everything I can to get you to believe that everything I say to you is true, including how beautiful and incredible you are. I will watch as many fairytales as you want and do everything in my power to give you a fairytale of your own to tell. And I will spend every moment of every day loving you. Loving you more than anyone has ever been loved before."

I knew those words. When he asked me to be his girlfriend, he told me that he would follow me anywhere and that he'd do everything he could to make me believe what he said to me and that he would do whatever he could to give me my own fairytale. Not to mention the beautiful speech he completely stole from The Fault in Our Stars.

"Karl," I sighed happily, "I love you. I think I've loved you since the island. But you stole half of that from The Fault in Our Stars and I've heard some of that before."

"I know. You love John Green novels and that one is your favorite and I love you," Karl smiled widely.

I giggled as he leaned in, pressing his lips against mine.

"I love you, and now I get to tell you that all the time," Karl sighed happily as he leaned his forehead down against mine.

"By the way, this is all very cheesy and cute, but isn't it a lot for just three little words?" I giggled happily.

"Three little words that I have been waiting a long time to tell you," Karl smiled, "plus the goal is a fairytale, my love."

"You guys are cute, and we're very happy for you but can we all eat now?" Ethan laughed from Karl's doorway.

Karl and I laughed as we left his room, following Ethan and Bailey back downstairs so we could all eat together.

"Oh yeah, I lied," Bailey laughed, "you told Karl you love him last night, and since you never remember things when you're drunk Karl said it back so it would be a lot less intimidating to tell you today."

"Dude!" Karl scoffed.

"Oh, and Karl. Two weeks ago when you were asleep on Ava before she had to leave to go home, she told you that she loved you then for the exact same reason that you said it to her last night. And then she told me she loves you because she wanted to say it to you but thought it was too early and didn't want to freak you out," Bailey laughed, "damn, I have been dying to say that to someone."

"Well thank you for not saying it to someone else," I laughed.

"You're welcome. Still rooting for you," Bailey smiled as he took a big bite of food, "still ship you."
