"You know you can come with me," I laughed.
"I know, but you don't ever have personal friend time with them, so I'm going to stay home and get ready to stream later," Karl smiled, "but I want you to have fun."
"I'll miss you," I smiled as I wrapped my arms around Karl's waist.
"I'll miss you too, but I will see you tonight. I will do my absolute best to be done streaming before you get home so we can do something together," Karl promised.
"But you love streaming, so don't stop just for me," I insisted.
"Just for you?" Karl laughed, "I'd give up everything for you, at any second."
"Well don't do that," I laughed.
"Okay," Karl agreed, hugging me back lovingly, "I'll do my best."
I removed myself from Karl and went to our closet to find something to change into. After my last day in the office yesterday, I was using my newfound daily homebody status to my full advantage. I was finally going to have true friends night with Chris, Katie, Jimmy, and Maddie.
My last day at the office was rather comical to be honest. We all went out to a restaurant for lunch and they treated me like a queen, celebrating me and my successes. And I mean celebrated. They insisted on continuing to make a big spectacle about toasting to my education and the love of my life and how incredible these new opportunities are for me. Ashton was even so kind to give me a gift, of a box full of files so I could get right to work from home when I got back to Raleigh. And the boys found it hilarious to give me a stack of applications, with photos, to I could give my input on my 'replacement'. Ashton shut that down very quickly, insisting that he wasn't going to get a new assistant since no one could replace me. They really did turn out to be some incredible guys and friends of mine.
Once I was dressed in some black jeans and a simple large white sweater, I was ready to go. I don't like being apart from Karl, even just for short term things. God, I sound like a toddler with separation anxiety from her parents. But now that I have him and he's mine and I'm his, I just want to be with him, always.
I walked into our shared office and gently wrapped my arms around Karl's shoulders. He looked away from his computer screen and smiled up at me lovingly, moving his headset down to hang around his neck.
"Are you leaving?" Karl asked.
"I am, I'll text you when I'm on my way home," I smiled.
"Okay, I can walk you out," Karl offered.
"No, stay here and continue doing what you're doing. I'm not going far," I smiled.
"I know, have fun tonight. Don't come home early because of me," Karl reasoned.
"Okay, have a good stream. I'll bring home pictures of your godson," I promised.
"And your godson," Karl smiled, "have fun Princess, I'll see you later."
"I love you," I smiled.
"I love you," Karl smiled as he gently kissed my lips, "and Sapnap loves you too."
"He better if he expects me to share you," I laughed, "tell him I love him too, just not in the same way."
"Better not be in the same way," Karl laughed.
I said goodbye to Karl and let him get back to what he was doing, which I assumed included Sapnap. You know, since when does it not? I got out to my car and smiled at the short drive it took to get to Chris' house. It was nice being so close again. I really did miss this. My family is here, why did I ever leave?
