I put my board in the backseat of my car and heard my phone ringing with a FaceTime as I got behind the wheel. I was still in my bikini, so as long as this isn't my boss, I should be fine.
"Hello?" I answered the FaceTime call without checking who it was.
"Hey!" Chris cheered when our faces filled the screen.
"What's up?" I asked.
"We're getting ready to film for the gaming channel," Chris smiled, "today is the Techno versus Dream Minecraft tournament."
"That sounds fun," I laughed, "you're rooting for Techno?"
"Oh yeah, and then there's simp Karl rooting for Dream," Chris laughed "he's such a simp."
"Hey!" someone said in the background, "we all love Karl."
"Who's that?" I asked.
"Oh, my bad," Chris smiled before he turned the phone around to show me his computer screen, "Ava that's Dream and Techno, guys this is our friend Avalon, we call her Ava."
"That's Avalon?" Dream asked as his eyes went wide, "dude, Karl's an idiot."
"Trust me, I know," Chris agreed.
I rolled my eyes as Chris turned his phone back around to face himself. Chris and his big stupid mouth.
"Seriously?" I questioned.
"What?" Chris asked.
"Karl's an idiot," I mocked, "can you please keep your big mouth shut? Would it kill you to keep shit to yourself for like three seconds?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Chris smirked, "what are you up to?"
"I just finished surfing after I got out of work," I smiled as I turned my car on, "and now I'm going home."
"We miss you," Chris sighed.
"I miss you guys too," I admit, "I got too used to seeing all of you every day while I was there."
"You should move back here," Chris insisted, "because then we'd see you all the time."
"You know, you could come over to Wilmington to see me. That is also an option," I pointed out as I drove.
"Yeah Chris," Techno chimed in.
"Shut it Techno," Chris laughed, "Ava, have you ever met Dream or Techno? Dream and Techno both-."
"Play Minecraft. Dream's a speed runner and Techno beat the game with a Mario Kart wheel. No, we've never met, but I watch their content when I have the time," I interrupted him, "I know. I may not be the cool one out of our friend group, but I do go on the internet sometimes."
"Don't sass me," Chris laughed, "we're going to start filming soon. Will you stay on FaceTime?"
"I mean yeah," I smiled, "as long as I get to watch. I didn't get to see you guys film for the gaming channel when I was there."
"I'll turn the camera when we start filming so you can see the screen," Chris promised.
"Thank you," I laughed, "so what's new in the two days since I left?"
"Actually there is something," Chris smirked before he got up and checked that the door was closed and he was alone, "about Karl."
"What about him?" I asked sadly, unprepared to hear his name.
"I didn't tell you this. He got drunk again on Sunday night when he realized you actually went back home and he didn't say goodbye to you. And Jessie showed up at his place and he told her off and said that he doesn't want her around anymore," Chris smirked at me.
