Henry left the day after you and Hubert fought, leaving you and Ernest alone in the Monastery. Waking up, walking to class and eating all became more lonely. You couldn't stand to see Hubert or Edelgard, instead you confided in your Professor who had noticed how distand you were being from almost everyone.
"So that's my issue, Professor." You sighed, twisting a strand of hair with your fingers in anticipation.
"I'm sorry to hear that your Father is ill, ___." Byleth frowned slightly, still less emotional than others but it was something at least. "But I can tell there is something else, something that is running below the surface."
"It's nothing, really. I must focus on the coronation, whenever that will be." Your shoulders straightened, and you pulled out a concealed letter. "I wrote this, the night I was told everything." You handed him the letter and stood up. "In it, contains more than the reason I was placed in this school with my brother. It is a warning of such for yourself."
"A warning?" Byleth took the letter, not opening it at that time.
"Yes, for future events. Please do not ask me where I got the information from, although I am sure you will have a fine guess once reading it." You paused, watching as he contemplated opening it now, he did. You left the man in peace, not uttering a word.
Blue eyes ran through the handwritten words you spilled on the page, remembering the pain you were in when writing it.
My Dearest Professor,
If I do not come clean by the time you are reading this then continue on, however if I spilled my reasoning for coming to Garreg Mach then go to the second, and longest paragraph.
Byleth's eyes jumped instantly to the lower part of the paper.
I must admit something, not to my professor, but to the one person in this place left that I can rely on. Before I began to write this letter, I was visited by a student in our class. Someone I have come to care deeply about. The reason they were at my quarters does not matter, but what they confessed to me does. I ended up telling them all that Henry told me, calling them out on it and even throwing in my suspicion that the Adrestian Princess was the Flame Emperor.
By now, you can guess who was in my room. I will not disclose their name for private reasons of course; but the person admitted that the Adrestian Princess was indeed planning a war. A war to be declared on the church of Seiros, I am guessing less from a month from now.
As my Professor, I am most definite that the time will come when you must choose between Adrestia and the Church. Whichever you choose, I am saying as the next Queen of Nesrta, I will support you, as I can not bring myself to idly sit aside and watch you all die.
Do not show this letter to anyone, I will be expecting a reply once you chose a side. From there I will travel back with my own troops and you may reveal this letter to whom ever your loyalty lies with.
Thank you dearest Professor,
___.
Byleth took this all in with a sip of tea and a fix of his glasses. Noticing you were already gone, he folded the letter and put it in an inside pocket, following your request to keep the matter between yourselves.

"___, there you are." Dimitri found you in the dining hall, a place he only usually could be found in of a morning. "Why are you sat alone, again?" He was like a puppy, his blue eyes drooping with worry.
"No reason in particular, I'm sure when Henry get's back I will be back to normal." You lied, it was becoming a habit.
"Hm, I can sense you are not feeling right. Although I am not the best comforter, I know what puts a smile on your face." He held out a small, brown, paper bag. "I went into the North Town to get you these." He grinned as you took the small gift from the caring prince.
"The North Town? Dimitri that's at least an hour away by carriage!" You opened the bag, which was slightly warm from his pocket. "You...Got me Toffee?" You blinked, he was one hell of a guy.
"Not just any Toffee! Salted Toffee. Your favourite I remember you telling me?" He was adorable, if he had a tail it would be wagging in glee as your face lit up at the word 'salted'.
"Please tell me you didn't go all the way to the North Town for my sake Dimi." A sheepish smile overcame you, perhaps there were some people you could still rely on.
"Okay, I won't tell you." He shrugged, pulling another brown paper bag from the other pocket. "But I did buy you two."
You were so..touched. Dimitri cared so much for his friends, you recalled first learning this when talking to Ashe.
"Thank you Dimitri. You are a true friend."
"A friend? I haven't been called that in years, I am so glad." It was unusual for Dimitri to smile so widely, or so genuinely. Many smiles were forced and fake, you knew that a mile off.
"Well you're my friend Dimi. I'm sure we'll be friends for many years." It was more like a wish than a statement. If Edelgard got her way, Dimitri's head will be off his neck by the end of it.
"Yes. Yes that sounds perfect, ___. Enjoy."
'I will Dimitri, I will.'
