So this chapter is like time skip x10, sorry.

"Look, I didn't mean to ignore you for so long." Hubert sat in your desk chair, watching you pack one of your bags, feeling his heart yern for his future wife. "Don't leave like this, I was just-"

"It doesn't matter." You interrupted, chucking in a pair of socks and sighing, turing to fae the man who was now staring at the bag. "What?"

"They're my- it doesn't matter." Hubert's shoulders dropped. "When will you be back?"

"After my dignity has returned." You scoffed, thinking of the night before, "When my duties have been fufilled." You replied again without sarcasam.

"___. I was ashamed, okay? I smashed the pot mid-"

"DONT." You cut the man off before he said something not so pg, "It doesn't matter, I'll buy a new one! But you didn't have to stay silent for so long and then leave at 5am." You dropped the bag outside your door so one of the soldiers would take it outside.

"I'll see you in a month then? Two?" Hubert stood up, fixing his uniform and breathing in.

"Yes." You frowned, suddenly the feeling you had was dropped- you didn't want to leave for Nestra, you wanted to just hug Hubert and tell him you forgave him. His hands grasped your shoulders and pulled you into his chest. "I love you. I'll see you when you return."

Six Weeks Later

"You called your majesty." A nurse entered your room, placing her case on the floor and waiting for your permission to come closer.

"Yes." You groaned, lying on your bed. "I am not feeling the best."

"What are your symptoms?" She came over and put her hand to your head, "Not too much of a fever."

"I feel rather sick, bloated, I can't touch any ounce of food handed to me on a plate." You mumbled, sitting up.

"Hmm, may I take some tests of your urine? I'll return the results to you within the week." Her brown eyes were soft and trusting.

"Of course."

"Hubert!" The door to the miserable man's office slammed open, "News!"

"Knock?" Hubert panned, his eyes moving from the papers to the blue haired man.

"Sure- next time." Caspar walked in, chucking a letter in his face.

"You opened it?" He hissed, seeing the tear on the envelope.

"It was in my post box, I swear." Caspar held up his hands, "I didn't read much, just that ___ will be returning sooner than expected." He smiled, taking his leave without another word.

'She's returning? She's a week early.'

Hubert's eyes scanned the letter which was written by Henry, saying something had to be discussed regarding the 'Queen'. He knew not to trust Henry, he was highly dramatic and knew not to worry. The man placed the letter in his bag, knowing he had to put it in with the other letters regarding his Fiance once he returned to his quarters.

That night Hubert slept soundly, knowing he would get to hold you and kiss you the following day, or even that night depending on when the letter was sent.

"So how you feeling?" Henry asked you, it was too early for the marketplace to be in full swing so the pair of you walked into the monastary freely and without hassle.

"Nervous." You admitted, biting your lip and eyeing every corner in search for a hidden Hubert. "God damn it, this really is happening isn't it?" You swallowed, seeing no sign of the man you both took a seat in the dining hall, not sure on what to say to each other.

"I will make sure the worse never happens, ___. As your retainer and friend I will protect you with my life." Henry held your hand, knowing this news would shock everyone.

"Thank you , my dearest friend." You smiled, sqeezing his hand.

"It's my pleasure, ah- here's Edelgard."

You both turned to the door, the short woman dressed in red stood in the doorway, eyes locked onto the hands held between you and Henry. Clearly rather confused and now worried she walked over and took the seat next to you.

"___, I'm glad to see you again." Edelgard had become a close friend to you, the pair of you sharing tips and insights on ruling over millions of people. "Please tell me you're back for something good?" Her violet eyes dimmed at the thought of something horrible happening to her friend.

"Well. It depends." You mumbled, not meeting her gaze and rather finding the ceiling more interesting. "I'd rather wait for Hubert to come here then-"

"I'm here." Hubert walked in from the other door to the left, "Is something actually wrong? Henry wasn't just pulling my leg?" He was dressed in his usual attire, bags less darker than usual and hair neatly brushed for once.

"N-no. Uhm...Hubert." You stood up, reaching for the mans hand you looked up at him, "Maybe you should sit down." You smiled meekly, ushering him to a chair.

"Okay." He pulled out the nearest chair on a table opposite the other two who were waiting expectantly.

"Hubert, I haven't been very well recently, I had a nurse come and check me out..."

"And?" Hubert asked, brows furrowed and heart beating faster than the first time he kissed you.

"Hubert, I'm pregnant."

"What?"Hubert blinked,

"WHAT?!"Edelgard gasped,

"WAIT WHAT?!"Ferdinand and Dorothea yellled, the pair seemingly to be rather hidden this whole time.

Hubert zoned out. Edelgard held you close and the sneaking twins shook each other in happiness, Dorothea ignoring the fact that this was Ferdinand she was holding.

"How long?" Edelgard asked, looking down at your stomach.

"Around a month, nearly two." You smiled, happy that she wasn't angry at you carrying child during a war.

"Wait so-" Hubert's mind clocked onto the timeline of the pair of your's...actions. The last he could think of was the night he smashed your vase which theoretically would add up.

"Yeah." You giggled, "Are you mad?" You frowned, pulling away from the Emperor and reaching for Hubert's pale hands again.

"I'm going to be a father." He muttered, not to anyone but just to himself. "I-I'm going to be such a terrible father, ___." He sank, eyes drooping. "I know nothing about children. What if you're injured greatly during this pregnancy?"

"What? Hubert you'll be a wonderful Father, in fact you of all people know what NOT to do as a Father!" You cupped the man's cheek- bringing him back to the living. "We have eight months to prepare, we both will learn together."

"My God." He sighed, "You're with child. My child." Hubert smiled softly, a smile none of you had ever seen before. "I love you so deeply. I love you both so deeply." He leaned up in his chair and kissed you lips, a rare show of affection in front of others. Everyone else took in the sight, happy in seeing the first couple having their first child in this group of individuals. It was... wholesome.
