"So I see you have a nice little space here, honey." Sharon says looking around at Callie's room as the girl has shown her grandmom some of her photography and awards.

Sharon truly loved her granddaughter, which was one of the reasons she had come but at the same time it was not easy being in this home. Not by any means for the sin circling around her was making her stomach turn. She had been rubbing her rosary beads ever since seeing her daughter and the array of mixed children she had along with her wife. It was all odd and all against everything she ingrained in her as it seemed Stef was more off then wagon then she even realized. But she was adamant about getting her to see the wrong doings of her life and that her and Mike needed to remarry for the sake of Callie.

"Thanks, Gran. I'm so happy you came. Did you ever come to California before?" Callie asks as the woman takes a seat on the bed smiling. "I know you guys moved all the time. Mama said like 15 times."

"No. Only Papa has. We moved all over but California was never one of the places we lived. So, you like it here?"

"Yeah. I mean I miss NYC but the weather is awesome, and I stink at surfing but I like it. I have friends, and my cousin lives close. Stefanie. She's my best friend."

"Stefanie?" Sharon asks confused as she looks around at the basement that was filled with teen posters, a boombox and another bed she assumed the other girl slept in. Frannie? She wouldn't remember her name.

"Yeah, you just met her. Mama's goddaughter. She has the darker straight hair and supper pretty. The other girl with the light brown hair is Frankie, my sister."

"Oh. That dark one."

"Well...I don't really see her that way, Gran. None of us see that." Callie says as Sharon gently pats her leg.

"And how's your daddy?" She says ignoring the girl's comment. "Still very handsome?"

"He's good. He and Mama are partners. Crazy, right?"

"Partners?"

"Yeah for the San Diego Police Department. They work together." Callie says without missing a beat as Sharon raises her eyebrow.

"That's interesting."

"Yeah, I stayed with him for a little while."

"Well yes, I assume you do because of custody, right?"

"Well, not really. Mama and I got into this big fight. Like really big because of my mouth. And she kinda threw me out so I went to go stay with Dad for a few weeks."

"Oh, are you ok, honey? What happened? You can tell me." Sharon pushes as Callie closes her photo book.

"Well, you won't be super happy with me. Like at all."

"Oh honey, I could never be angry with you. Ever. You know Papa and I love you so much, we always have and support you. We know it's been hard for you since your parents split up. That's not an easy thing especially with your Mother's different lifestyle choice." Sharon says this rather passive aggressively as Callie plays with her fingers.

"Well, it's fine. I love Lena. It's different having two moms but cool at the same time. I mean it stinks they can't legally marry but in their hearts they are."

"MM. So what was the fight about? MM?" Sharon pushes even more, for this topic of conversation was making her more and more uncomfortable. What kind of brainwashing was her daughter doing to this poor girl?  In her mind it was all so tragic.

"Oh, well I sort of snuck around with a boy." Callie blushes.

"Oh. A boy? Really now." Sharon says smiling as Callie looks at her, ashamed. But she was grateful it was a boy.
