As Callie shoved her books into her locker she was happy the school day was over for she was tired. Since Mike didn't live in walking distance to her school she had to get up extra early to take the public bus to school and back. It wasn't the worst thing but she had to make sure not to miss it or she would be late.
It had been more than two weeks since she had moved in with her dad and it was definitely different. The last time she lived with Mike she was barely 10 and it wasn't by choice. This time wasn't really either since her mother had kicked her out and despite Lena's talk about Stef missing her, she didn't buy it.
Callie knew her mother was stubborn and she was as well but never had they had such a blow up. Well two blow ups if she was honest but one thing Callie did notice was how much more laid back her dad was. Mostly he was easy going, let the girl be and wasn't down her throat like Stef had been for a while now with all of them. She could breath, she could relax and if she was honest her punishment with her dad was much easier to adhere to as the stress of everything was gone.
Honestly she didn't miss her mother. Not at all. Well, that was what she liked to tell herself these days even if she had taken to heart the conversation Lena had had with her.
Truth was she did miss Corey and Frankie and Lena. But she felt badly for how angry Frankie was. She really did for the two had become close sisters and now Frankie wouldn't even look at her much less work at the bakery when she was there especially after the other day when Frankie had said a bunch of things that really bothered Callie.
In school Frankie avoided her and even switched her locker to be farther away. It sucked if she was honest it really did even if Corey still spoke to her and Stefanie. But what choice did Callie have. None for there was no way on earth she was going back home. Especially not after what happened a few days ago when Stef had shown up at Mikes.
FLASHBACK
"Cals, come out here please!" The girl hears as she puts her history book away. Not knowing what was going on she walks into the living room seeing not only her father there but her mother as well.
"Am I being ambushed?" She asks confused as Stef looks right at her glaring. The blonde was trying, she really was no matter how pissed off she was.
"Nope. But you and your mom need to talk." Mike smiles as he leaves the room, and Callie can feel her walls going up big time.
"How are you, Callie?" Stef asks quietly as Callie rolls her eyes and sighs something Stef instantly notices and she could feel her jaw tighten.
"I'm good. You don't have to pretend, you know. I'm a big girl," Callie laughs awkwardly as Stef frowns.
"Well, I'm trying here, Callie, and we're not gonna get anywhere with that attitude," Stef snaps as Callie huffs and turns to go.
"I need to study. You know your way out." She says turning around dismissing her mother which she forgot was never a good idea.
"GET OVER HERE! NOW! DON'T you ever dismiss me like that!" Stef yells at the top of her lungs causing Callie to turn around and look her square in the face. "GET OVER HERE NOW! NOW!!" She yells as Callie huffs and does as she is told.
"You always yell. Always! I'm sick of it!" Callie hollers back.
"I wouldn't have to if you listened and didn't continue to smart off to me. Still losing your mind! HUH? Let me explain something to you little girl I don't think I'm going anywhere and neither are you!"
"You are impossible to even talk to or get a word in and..."
"Why are you so hell bent on speaking to me like I am a burden? Huh? Tell me?" The blonde steps forward. "I've been trying with you. I have!"
